Chifa
Chifa is colorful, quirky and delicious. Chinese meets Peruvian, not really fusion but BBQ and stir fried with flavors and seasoning that just works well. The highlights from Chifa were the noodles, steak and rice. Dan Dan Mian, Lomo Saltado and Trinity fried rice really pairs well with beer, cocktails or good cold ole' tap. The Brulee Char Sui and Sui Mai were the disappointments... both well prepared but fell short in taste compared with the other dishes. Chifa has a wonderful interior and welcoming exterior with minimal parking on the street.
My partner and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now so decided to go here for a date night.👩❤️💋👨✨ All of the staff were really friendly from the hostess to the server. I will say my favorite dish had to be the black pepper prawns. 🦐 🍽️Great atmosphere, awesome staff, but the food was 🆗.
Golden Chopsticks
Excellent, service food. This is true meaning of hole in the wall food. Don't pass this up.
This was the 1st restaurant I visited when I moved to Valley Village in 2002. It's been a favorite ever since. It's no surprise it's lasted the test of time. House Special Chicken for the win!
Chinese Delight
Delicious food. Really tasty and savory. I have tried the Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Pepper Beef, I would say it’s a 10/10 so far. The hot and sour soup paired with the fried rice is exquisite. They also have a crispy cabbage veggie roll that just crunches and adds depth to the experience. Definitely a must have if you’re in the area. Try it once and I know you’ll return like I have. Compliments to the chefs and waitresses are genuine and honestly nice. Atmosphere is nice. The picture is the orange chicken
Hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had in LA! This was my first time ordering from here. I got steamed potstickers and mu shu pork, super flavorful and large portions for a pretty good price. Definitely my new favorite Chinese spot!
China Lites
Very good. Tried for the first time and will definitely return. The pork fried rice was excellent. Lots of pork. Lots of flavor. More flavor than most places. Very tasty on its own. The Beef with String Beans was excellent. Tender beef. Very good ratio of beef to beans. Very flavorful. Definitely a repeat. The Garlic Shrimp was very disappointing. Didn't taste garlic. It had good flavors and the shrimp was fresh and not overcooked, but when I order something with garlic in the name, I anticipate tasting garlic. The Hot and Sour Soup was very good. Plenty of tofu, but would have preferred more mushrooms and bamboo shoots. It had about half of what other restaurants give. Lots of great flavor. A little more sweet than I'd prefer though. The chicken dumplings were good, but maybe not the best choice for take-out. Good flavor. Not greasy, but ate them at least thirty minutes after cooking and they should be eaten immediately. I'm definitely returning and trying other dishes.
If you're looking for quick bite and don't have a whole lot of cash, this is the ideal place. Not really ideal for kids but if you're also looking for privacy while having a quick meal, I'd highly recommend it. This place has been around for decades and I've probably been going there for just as long. Go check them out..
J & J Wok
This is a little secret gym in my neighborhood. The food is delicious. The people are nice. The price is aren't bad. Sorry. No photos but please support this neighborhood gym especially if they have the skinny noodles. This is an added post to this j&j wok. They're very nice people. The food is delicious. This is the only place where you can get two kinds of noodles but they're very consistent on their food. Times are hard. Prices are a little high but they haven't raised them that crazy. Please visit j&j wok. Be patient when there's the line. Thank you. I've added photos
I've been here multiple times and I've never been disappointed. The portions they give here are MASSIVE, I'm always surprised when my dish is being served. The servers are always kind and welcoming! A handful of tables to sit at, and the location has blinds that prevent the sun from coming in and heating up the place.
Szechuwan Garden
Came for the lunch special they had going on and it was surprisingly good. When I went, lunch specials start at $11 and up. Service was great and quick, food was good and it assuming that the dinner will be better and overall it was a good first experience. The atmosphere was kind of dead but it was about to pick up when I was getting ready to leave.
I ordered the Mongolian beef lunch special. For $10.50 I got the mongolian beef with a choice of rice, choice of either egg, sunflower soup or sweet and sour soup, and one vegetable egg roll. It was really good. For the price its excellent. I want to try dining there the restaurant is really nice. Lady who got my order was really friendly too. Made my order in 10 min. I'll definitely come back.
Panda Wok
Great Chinese food I decided to stop by to try the Chinese food I use to get as a child and I have to say it’s amazing. I’ve tried many Chinese food restaurants but nothing compares. Great taste not too greasy. Highly recommended. Happy to see the business going strong for over 30 years. I remember coming to this location as a kid after the thrift store. Great service. Keep up the good work.
I took my daughter to this restaurant today. The portion size was excellent, and the taste was great; however, my daughter found a fly inside her food.
Wok Express
When I walked in, I was greeted by 2 friendly people. I let him know that it was my first time here. He gave me the whole rundown of selections that I could pick from, and what was the most popular. That was helpful. I ordered the two item combo. I asked if they were making any more chicken and mushroom. He said they could do that for me, which was nice. I got my order, and I would have to say that they offer nice size portions. The food was tasty. I would consider going back some other time. Overall it was a nice experience. Side Note: They close at 8 PM not 9 PM like this website says.
Only place my son will eat Chinese food from!! Owners have always been supportive of our Autism journey, we started going there when he was 3 and he is going to be 14 in February!! Our go to all the time! Food is fresh portions are great and service is EXCELLENT!
Super Wok Chinese Restaurant
I was a bit skeptical at thinking it is another restaurant serving s*ty soy sauce drenched noodles, but it was such a pleasant revelation how good the dishes were. The Super Wok Special Beef is the one to order! It is incredibly tender, slight sweetness to it and buttery. It it served on top of a bed of sliced oranges. It is guaranteed to make you keep coming back for more. The dish is $19+ and serving is generous. I went back another day to try out the lunch special. This time it was the crispy salt pepper shrimp selected. For $13.75, it came with a soup of the day, rice and the entree. Serving was very generous, maybe even 2 people can share one. It was excellent!
We came in for some quick lunch, and had the egg rolls, hot and sour soup, chow mein, and orange chicken. It was all very good, especially the soup. The egg rolls were okay, and the sauces were great--I also like the spicy mustard they put out. They had Thai Tea which was nice :)
Golden City Chinese Cuisine
It was crispy noodle type of day and I wanted one badly that day. I stumbled upon this low key Chinese restaurant. The entrance is at the back facing the parking lot. Next to the restaurant is a bar that seems to attract chunky dudes who likes motorcycles. Frankly the entrance looks a bit sus. Upon stepping in you’ll recognize it to be quintessential family run Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Only thing missing is the obligatory owner’s child doing homework in a corner table lol. The crispy noodles I ordered was the one topped with prawn and veggies. The serving was quite generous and nicely plated. $14.95 for such a good serving! Other than maybe a bit more shrimp I’ll say it was a 👍👍 I’ll try the salt and pepper pork chop or the French style filet mignon next time.
Golden City is everything you want in a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you're part of the family. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. But let's talk about the food – it's the star of the show! Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and incredibly fresh. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and take pride in their cooking. It's seriously some of the tastiest Chinese food I've had in a long time. Now, about that back entrance... it might look a little unassuming, but as the wise Morpheus once said, "There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.". Don't let it deter you! The culinary treasures that await inside are well worth venturing past the back door. Plus, there's plenty of parking in the back, which is why we, and most other customers, usually use that entrance. Golden City is the perfect spot for a casual weeknight dinner or a weekend family meal. It has that authentic, neighborhood Chinese food place vibe that's hard to find these days. I'll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend!
Chinatown Express
Nice staff. Food was mid. The only thing that was good from there was the teriyaki chicken. The fried rice was bland and chow mein tasted burnt. Got the BBQ pork and that thing was tough to chew. Had them a few years ago and it was pretty good. Now not so much. I don't know if that place ever gets busy cause there was only other customer besides me. Won't be back thats for sure. If you're in the area it is best if you find a better spot for your money.
The best orange chicken iv had in a long time everything was fresh and the amount of food I got for the price is amazing
Nim Chan's Kitchen
The Lo mein was soggy/mushy. The chicken in the fried rice was cold. The same sauce was used on 3 different entrees. The lo mein, beef with broccoli, kung pao chicken, all had the same sauce. Never have I ever experienced this. The service was great though.
So i was looking to replace my beloved, since closed, lucky star. It's no lucky star, but it does the job. They were friendly and decently fast esp during prime dinner take out time. Would order again but I continue my search for my new lucky star...
