iHome Kitchen Chinese Dumpling House (Beverly)

Northern Cafe is fire! The dumplings were amazing, so juicy and flavorful. Service was on point, super chill vibes from the staff, and they were quick with everything. If you're craving bomb dumplings and a great spot to chill, this is it. Totally worth the hype, no cap! Will be going back again soon!

Dishonest Tipping Practice I’ve been to this northern café in Beverly Hills before with my white husband and had a pleasant experience, so I decided to take my parents visiting from Beijing. Unfortunately, this time was very different. The waiter didn’t greet us or offer any conversation. We didn’t need his help for the self-service water, but he poured it for us anyway and then walked away. At other northern-style cafes, tipping isn’t expected since it’s mostly self-serve. Here, you scan a QR code to order, pack your own food, and check out at the counter. When it was time to pay, I noticed the waiter had already selected a tip for me without my consent. The only words he spoke were asking me to swipe, and when I questioned why the tip was already included, he seemed irritated and just told me to sign. I didn’t want to make a scene in front of my parents, but this felt like tip fraud. Also the food tasted not great, you can see the dumplings were broken. I’d appreciate a response from the owner about whether this is standard practice and a partial refund of my tip. If it is, it’s even more concerning. Update: the owner simply would like to deny other than checking the camera. I have uploaded My receipt picture already and they chose to deny. Read previous reviews pls this happened more than once

I ordered takeout today— the staff are super nice and the food came out quickly! I got an order of their炸酱面 and dumplings(8pcs)三鲜饺子. I thought the portion of noodles was really great—Easy to share with others. The dumplings were really delicious— right amount of thickness of skin with juicy insides. Every dumpling was consistent with the other and the size of the dumplings were good. I see why people enjoy their dumplings! Noodles might not be their main sell: but the zhajiangmian really hit the spot for me today. The sauce is not a thick paste so it’s more on the liquid side. It coats the noodle easily and I love that there was a lot of cucumber and enough meat for so much noodle. They also provided utensils and dumpling sauce 👍

It's serious!!!!! My goodness, the service was more than amazing, for being the first time I visited the place, really delicious food but a thousand thanks to Miss Vicky for her excellent: help, kindness, perfect service. Super clean place. I ordered to take away and it was super fast.

How do you pronounce this business? 9LB? iXlb? Is it latin? Aztec? Taiwaztec? I don’t know but I love it. Just visited this restaurant for the first time and left totally blown away. I ordered the Taiwanese cabbage, the vegetarian baos, and the steamed seafood pearls, and omg the food is so fresh. The steamed seafood pearls are the best: juicy and bouncy. The taste is beyond. The cabbage and the baos need a little dressing up with the sauce, but overall super fresh and healthy. I ordered to go and Jenny at the front was really nice in explaining the menu to me. Will definitely come back to try the fried dumplings and different baos. A++ recommend. One note: they do use a lot of plastic. I’m aware that a lot of the food is steamed and comes out super hot. Maybe there’s a different type of serving set they could phase to in the future that is less harmful for the environment.

I had seen an overwhelmingly positive review of this place and thus felt optimistic about trying it out. For one, it was over a hundred dollars for everything, which would usually be fair in Westwood, but I should have known something would be wrong with the stinginess of the sauce. They charged about 2-3 dollars for sauces (soy sauce, Sriracha, chili oil, etc), so if you decide to eat here, I just recommend bringing your sauces from home. Second, we dined in, and the food was still brought out to us in to go containers despite them having seating outdoors. This was disappointing as it felt rather wasteful. Third, there were no plates they could give us to eat right there. The actual food: My groups' order consisted of half vegetarian and half meat (shrimp and chicken). Hands down, their spring roll tasted amazing and started off the meal with high hopes, so I fully recommend that. The vegetable dumplings and vegetable bao dumlings were decent. The chicken over rice was also okay. The garlic noodles and chow mein were okay. However, the shrimp dumplings were disappointing. I would only recommend the fried shrimp dumplings. I would not recommend the rice ball dumpling as that was not good. It tasted weird. Overall, I walked away disappointed with the meal as most of it was subpar. Sure, some things didn't taste terrible, but for the portion, pricing, and flavor, I would seek out other places before coming here. For transparency, the vegetable options were typically 7 dollars for 4 dumplings. The vegetarian options were okay. However, those in my party that ate the shrimp containing dumplings developed food poisoning. This was the only meal we had had at the point of developing symptoms. Those who had eaten the shrimp had even noted a weird feeling in their stomach, which proceeded to throwing up. If you're coming to eat here, just be careful.

Tigawok Mini Bowl - Sawtelle

For value, it’s no contest. The food is very good for small plates that are $3.99. You get to try a bunch of plates and be satisfied. Nothing is blow ya out the water but solid to great all around: egg plant, Thai basil is pretty awesome, tofu is good but my friend loves it. Good stuff. Enjoy. 4.5 out of 5 for food but 5 out of 5 for value. Seating, limited but it’s LAX.

Tigawok does what it aims to accomplish. I ordered the orange peel chicken and rice which came out to around $7. The orange peel chicken was tasty with a cardamom like flavor and orange peels. This food reminded me of frozen food from Trader Joe’s, but again… it was tasty and affordable with a good vibe / space. I got to hand it to them. This is the future. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Thank you so much to “T-M”. Really enjoyed having a snack, ordered the BBQ Pork, which was hot and was enough quantity for the price. It’s a huge restaurant that have been there for over 45 years. The place was organized, could be better storage but definitely the kindness and service of Mr. T-M was making my time a better one. Definitely worth it to be there to eat your food hot enough and have a good time watching some sports while eating good Chinese food. I’ll come back soon!

Great chinese food in this neighborhood. It is certainly catered to a more American palate. Expansive menu, great location, good for large groups or a quick business lunch, and good service. The sizzling beef/ scallop and garlic peashoot were amazing. I highly suggest it.

Great food there, good service too, nice lady even when it was closed I was able to eat there a bit longer. Food isn't even that expensive even for two people. First time coming and it was great.

I recently order to go there, and it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu offered a delightful variety of authentic Chinese dishes, making it hard to choose. I opted for the spicy Chicken and fish.both of which were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The chicken was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of spice, while the fish were tender and delicious. The service was impeccable; our server was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, enhancing the overall dining experience. To top it all off, the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return. Whether you're a fan of Chinese cuisine or trying it for the first time, AW is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

We went there this afternoon for Dim Sum. I hadn’t been back to this place since Covid, and was shocked to see how run down it has become. The service was very nice and professional. The prices were decent. The Dim Sum was way too limited and no cart. It just doesn’t have the great dim sum vibe. Even the waitress said, come back and order a bugger dish, it is way better than dim sum. Which was too bad, because dim sum was our interest.

Food alone, it's pretty good for Chinese. The food is a 4/5. Quality seems alright but it's a little on the high side. Everything we ordered came out piping hot and crisp which meant it was freshly prepared. Only bad thing was my steam white rice. It was well over cooked and was like a rice cake... all mushy inside the middle. The bad part is the service and atmosphere. Half the restaurant is closed down, just looks like areas for storage so only a few open tables. Decor is older, floors a little dirty, and tables/menus a lityle sticky. The gentlemen running the place doesn't speak English well and either doesn't hear or pretends not to hear any requests. For example, extra napkins or silverware... you can ask but you may or may not get it. It's a typical Chinese restaurant with poor service but pretty good food. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.6/5 so I'm rounding up.

They are completely unfriendly and bad attitude. Not recommended at all.

Very good standard Hong Kong style lunch. Tea is just from a tea bag but food is fresh and flavorful. We had the lunch combo which makes it very affordable. 3 combos for $45

The food is good, they have a large menu. The service and the entire eating experience is atrocious. It is hard to even find a wait staff to take our order, we had to go find our own water! The food arrives randomly and they are annoyed that we wanted the ma po tofu without meat. Our sense is they have tons of to go orders, and were more interested in them. If you want to eat here, maybe order to go.

While this is your usual Panda Express, I wanted to give it a good review because the employees were extremely nice and helpful. They greeted us and answered all our questions. Allowed us to change items on the menu and always with a positive attitude.

friendly staff and a very efficient kitchen means this is one of my favorite panda 🐼 EXPRESS spots. HINT: get the 3 item plate with teriyaki chicken as your 3rd item. tons of chicken super cheap price

Meizhou Dongpo Restaurant

Love this place. Really good authentic Szechuan food. I got the bamboo shoots, pea sprouts, Szechuan spicy chicken, roasted (not Beijing) duck, braised fish, and Dan Dan noodles. The Dan Dan noodles were a little too salty and not spicy enough but everything else had amazingggggg flavors and weren’t excessively oily or salty. It really helps to know what to order, so if you are not familiar with authentic Chinese cuisine it may be hard to navigate the menu. Although their fried rice is also amazing, this is definitely the place to get out of your comfort zone and try something less Americanized. The service is what you would typically expect from a Chinese place. Some waiters speak mandarin and are very accommodating.

Chinese cuisine which really resembles more of a authentic mainland Chinese flavour, instead of Americanized taste. So if you are looking for American Chinese food, this is probably a bit risky. But if you want to try something authentic, this is the place. I don't think American Chinese taste is bad, in fact, I think it is great. But sometimes you wonder what authentic dishes really taste like. It is located in the mall, so it is spacious, kid friendly, and easily accessible.
