Chinese Express
Located in the 103rd shopping center between Subway and Popeyes, Chinese Express unfortunately doesn't live up to the expectations. As a Watts native, I can confidently say there are better Chinese food options out there. We really need to raise our standards and stop settling for mediocre food and hyping it up. The chow mein was drenched in oyster sauce and oil the noodles were slimy. The “orange chicken” tasted heavily of cornstarch and came with wilted cabbage mixed in—who thought that was a good idea? The combination with sweet and sour sauce instead of orange sauce was just puzzling. I ordered orange chicken… And the fried rice? It was incredibly bland. Overall, I would not recommend look elsewhere for a better Chinese food experience.
Reasonable prices but the taste wasn't there. The shrimp fried rice tasted like precooked shrimp that had been overcooked, and the rice was hard. I loved this place in the early 2000's but never again.
New Hong Kong Combo
It gets so crowded!! Small location. Seating at first come first serve basis. Buy 3 plates and get 1 free. The food is so fresh and delicious. We got 4 plates with 2 items each. The 4 plates and 4 drinks for a rotal of $39.10. It was so much food. The plates bearly closed. We ate there and saved the rest for later. I highly recommend this place. I wish they had a restroom but most small restaurants don't have one.
This place use to be a fabulous Chinese food spot now with knew owners the food is horrable the lady serving the food had a bad attitude really rude rushing to take my order. Now lets talk about the food the noddles don't taste the same orange chicken is soggy the pepper chicken with greaanbeans has a nasty taste fried rice is dry chicken egg roll taste like it's been sitting all day. I will never return to this place wish the old owners were still there
Meat Bowl
I was a loyal customer for many years. Today was such a disappointment. They take out tray is smaller than before and the food was let’s just say I get more at Panda. The portions are reduced by 70% yet the prices have gone up. No wonder no one was eating in there when I went to order. So disappointed … they lost a good paying customer.
It's probably one of my favorite restaurants in South Gate and houses inexpensive dining options. Chinese food is severed, however, it isn't a typical nor a generic take out restaurant or belongs to a large franchise. The food is delicious and it's prepared in a matter of minutes. Will is the gentleman over the counter and is attentive on the orders from any customer. Beef chop suey, chicken vegetable, and almond chicken are a few of the items severed on the menu. Overall, it doesn't have a drive thru and it closes quite early at 8 p.m, but they do accept phone orders, it usually takes 15 minutes to prepare. However, in general, the travel time or dining in is convenient enough for anybody who chooses quality over quantity.
China Gate EXPRESS
Food was absolutely amazing and the way they PACKED the box. Really good overall
Food is really delicious and I won't deny that. My personal favorite is the chow mein and orange chicken. Everything is great except one thing. The employee that attended my family and I was a little rude and not usual great customer service I usually receive here. I don't know is she's new or came in a bad mood today but I didn't feel as comfortable as I usually do when I come by to eat something.
Delicious Kitchen
They were pretty polite but didn't have much food, and the stuff they did have didn't really have any taste. They didn't have one chicken so they made me some fresh orange chicken but they only made a small portion the sauce was watery getting really have no flavor the rice was completely flavorless. They have it where you serve yourself and get charged by weight instead of just having regular combo options to choose from and even chicken that they supposedly made when I asked wasn't piping hot. I would go elsewhere
Customer service is great! Workers know English, Spanish, & Mandarin (I think). They're nice, they work really fast, & the prices are great! Had their noodles, rice and shrimp, it's pretty good. I would recommend this place for a quick bite. Their matcha tea is good. Their boba is firm & tasty. And they have a lot of other options too. It's not a fancy restaurant, so don't go if that's what you're looking for.
Yummy Food Happy Time
So there was an issue with my order, but I found it was due to the delivery driver, not the restaurant! The driver left part of my order in her car and at some point later, returned to drop off the rest of the order at my door without notifying me. I am not sure how long the rest of my order was outside, but it was still okay temp when I found it. I have to say! I didn't expect so much delicious food in the order! Way better than Panda Express! I ordered from this restaurant based on the many wonderful reviews, and I am glad I did! You get way more than what you pay for. I am impressed and I recommend! Thanks
SCAM! I have been left with no choice but to take them to small claims court. I sent them a $200 deposit and after not hearing from them for a couple hours, I decided they weren’t who I wanted to work with. Something felt off. Well I was right because even though I had no binding contract, they refuse to refund my money even after mentioning that they would. I finally found their address to send them a certified letter for court. Do not work with them!
Panda Garden
The food here is delicious! I really enjoy their orange chicken one of, if not the best I've had. They give Panda Express a run for their money. This is my spot when I'm craving Chinese food. The servers can be a little irritable but the food more than makes up for it.
This place was very welcoming of me and my family. The shrimp fried rice was AMAZING. I also got a combo B 🔥🔥🔥. I see why this location has an A
China Gate
Get there before 3:30 pm to buy the lunch deal if not food prices go up. Lived the orange chicken, egg rolls, and fried rice .
This was actually my 2nd time getting food here. Food is good, I just didn't like that I asked for an order of Noodles and didn't get it. I got 2 orders of Steamed Rice.
Lotus Chinese Restaurant
Excellent food! I do have the same comment as previous tho, they need to de-shell the salt & pepper shrimp. It's a pain to eat and the batter gets thrown away with the shell. Spicy garlic chicken is good, Black Pepper Beef Mignon is delicious! Tried the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, very nice but one wing still a bit under cooked so they were refunded. Would definitely come back again when in the area! They close at 9pm, kitchen closes by 830pm so get in there early.
The service was excellent. We arrived earlier than noon but the server seated us without any issue. We ordered calamari, xiao long bao, steamed buns, young chow fried rice and shrimp lo mein. The calamari seasoning was delicious however it was a bit tough chewy. The xiao long bao was average and we didn’t care for the steamed buns. The fried rice and lo mein were Delicious! The fried rice was flavorful and not soggy.
China Coast
I used to go to this place all the time, 10 years later here we are and everything is a soggy disappointing mess where I could get better from frozen stuff at Costco. Never making a food choice off misplaced nostalgia again. Not close to worth its cost.
We decided to try and you New place for takeout or for Chinese. And it was just OK. I honestly don’t think I would order from there again. The Mushu chicken might have been the best thing we ordered. The Mongolian beef was Megan Lee onions and very little amount of beef. The fried rice was very bland and had no real flavors. I love it out but it was very dry. And with the food being this quality, are you sure you charge a premium. For these three things it cost $50 to pick it up
Jiayuan Dumpling House
this was our third visit and the food was consistently yummy. I really liked the egg drop soup. the dumplings, especially the beef, are so good. the cucumber salad is also delicious. it is a small eat in diner type restaurant. it seems that they do a lot of to-go orders.
Was hungry when heading to Redondo Beach and my best friend and I were craving dumplings and decided to give Dumpling House a try... We were not disappointed!!! First and foremost, the service you get from the owners and stuff is absolutely amazing! They are genuinely caring, thoughtful, and really want to make sure you have an exceptional dining experience. We ordered dumplings, braised beef noodle soup, orange chicken, and egg drop soup... Every dish was just so savory and delicious!!! We absolutely loved the food here and will come back again because the experience was just so warm, welcoming, and the food is authentically and delightfully Chinese.
Sea Shore Seafood Restaurant
Very popular Chinese Restaurant. The restaurant opened at 11:00am and was packed by 11:30 with people waiting for a table outside. It's best to have a reservation before coming out gets that crowded. We ordered several items that were all awesome. Tangerine Chicken is fried with a really tasty tangerine sauce. A little bit crunchy and the flavor is right on. Sweet and Sour Pork perfectly cooked with Bell Peppers, Onions, Pineapple. Yummy Pork Chow Fun with noodles that were cooked perfectly with bean sprouts, onions, Snow Peas. Beef and Broccoli, Beef is tender and juicy with the right amount of sauce and tender broccoli. Service is awesome and fast. Small parking lot.
This is a Chinese restaurant that is very popular among the Asian community and is suitable for family gatherings with a larger number of people. However, they also have some smaller tables that can seat 2 to 4 people. Basically, the prices here are a bit expensive, but still reasonable. If you plan to eat some more common or ordinary Chinese dishes, the chefs in this restaurant should be able to satisfy you. If you plan to find something more special on the menu, Dishes that few people know how to order, such as the mutton brisket pot, frankly speaking, the chefs' skills are still not up to par. The mutton brisket pot I ordered had a strong meaty flavor, and the fried clams with black pepper were not hot enough. The portion size was small and overall disappointing.
