Our family and friends have been coming here for years. It’s been consistently good, reasonably priced and has plenty of parking in the back. It’s great for large groups to celebrate birthdays and Lunar New Year. Our server was like a beloved uncle and the service was excellent. The portions are large and there is always leftovers to take home. Our favorites include the walnut shrimp, stuffed tofu, diced green beans with Chinese sausage and mushrooms, beef chow fun and chicken lettuce wraps. They also have a bakery next door if you want to pick up dessert. Although it wasn’t crowded, they were doing some brisk take out business.

The must get things to try here would be black sesame and mixed fruit drink desserts. I haven't had too much of the other stuff, though I did eat the duck noodle soup before and it was pretty decent. Altogether, a good Canto dessert place! I'd come back!

This place is small. You can eat indoors or outdoors. I tried their hainan chicken with rice and salad. The white chicken was okay. The sauces didn't do anything for me; I was expecting better. The shrimp rolls were alright but very small. The servers were nice. They brought out the food fast. You can park on the street or park in their designated parking lot, which is across the street from the restaurant. You should see their restaurant name in red on the white building. My friend parked on the other side of the main street. Crossing at that crosswalk can be dangerous because the drivers don't pay attention.

Very nice discovery. I had the seafood linguini in Alfredo sauce, and it was really good. I asked for parmesan cheese, and they brought spicy stuff, but other than that, all good. I'll go back for the escargot dish.

“I should have written this review 15 years ago! As an Irvine resident, I visit this cafe often, and it never disappoints. The food is incredibly flavorful and brings back memories of life in HK. I only wish we had a place like this in OC—it would be an instant favorite!”

Milk tea was really good. It comes free when you buy a breakfast deal for congee for a total of $11.95 plus tax. Congee was a little thin but still good, a little too much ginger for my taste. Youtiao (Chinese fried bread) was normal and a little on the lighter fried side which was better than other places. Rice roll was also standard and the sauce was good when mixed up. Cash only. They are very slow on bringing your change so better to have exact payment. Free parking.

Walked into this place, after attending Monterey Park's Year of the Snake event. The restaurant provides lunch specials ($11.99 or $12.99). For an additional $1.99, one gets to have an iced coffee or lemon tee. Food tastes good, and the portions are big. Will come back again, if I visit the neighborhood in the future.

Authentic Hong Kong style local lunches and dinners. Try their clay pot rice. Reasonable prices and friendly services

My go to spot for skewers. Fresh meat every time and the best tasting skewers in the area. I notice people complain about service but I personally love the laid back scene of skewer restaurants where you scan to order. Lady is very nice & servers are solid. Their dishes are very flavorful.

One of the best BBQ restaurants in town!! I ordered 3lbs crawfish, it’s really fresh and tasty. They also have the best fried small yellow croakers. And thanks the owner so much for sending some free snacks. I would definitely come back again

Love this place, excellent comfortable Hong Kong banquet style Chinese dishes to celebrate with family and loved ones. You can rsvp private rooms for parties. They served complementary slow cooked house soup and red bean dessert with dinner! Great place. Oh, their steamed live fish and crustacean are highly recommended.

11am-5pm Daily Lunch Special with rice and soup. Our favorite simple Canto LUNCH SPECIAL restaurant, and just takeout Chinese restaurant overall!! Its not the best, but quality is decent, and they have the variety I like. Depending on what you order, it can be oily, especially the dishes we ordered this time. This visit, it felt like Chinese fast food but better quality. Maybe it was a different chef today? Many places offer too much meat, become a carbo load place, or it's just more mainland China taste and dishes. This place is typical OG Canto lunch specials. They give alot of meat and veggies. Lunch special prices: 1. Pan fried String Beans with Minced pork $12.99 3. Eggplant and Minced Pork with Garlic Sauce $12.99. Forgot this dish here is too oily and soggy for us. 29. Beef with Bitter Melon in Black Bean Sauce $14.99. We've been trying to get into the bitter melon life for better health. 32. Fish Filet with Black Bean Sauce $14.99. 57. Preserved Vegetable with Pork Intestine $15.99. Will order again because we love intestine. They give alot. We ordered to a certain point where lobster was an additional deal for us...$30 lobster. Lunch Special soup is always the typical light version. Rice is typical, nothing special, nothing bad. This visit, we ordered pretty oily items. In previous visits we ordered different dishes. Lettuce and tofu, and shredded bamboo tofu fungus we're not for us last time. We're not into sweet and sour dishes, sweet, spare ribs but we have tried it here; it's not for us but good for those who usually like those dishes. I'll probably order the house special dish (lotus, sausage, fungus), seafood crispy chow mein, crispy intestine, walnut shrimp, jelly fish again. I'm not a fan of the new popular fad of Canto breakfast specials around 626 SGV. My mom loves deals and loves lunch special...but I think her social circle has changed (with age too) to breakfast special. We also order (full price) takeout too.

I can count on J J Cafe being open late and having amazing authentic food. Parking is easy in their lot. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly wait service. I ordered the Won Ton Soup. I also ordered the Pork Hocks and Beef Stew Lo Mein. We got to put some of those noodles in our soup. Tender meat.

Been here a few times. The service here is slow when it gets busy. Parking is pretty easy in the underground parking garage. We ordered Beef Chow Fun, chicken fried steak and smelt roe fried rice. Our favorite dish is the smelt roe fried rice. The beef Chow Fun is just alright not much wok hei flavor. The chicken fried steak is big and juicy. We have been here many times for breakfast and lunch.

We recently came to Mama Lu for an early Mother’s Day dinner and the food was AMAZING! Let them know if you have a special occasion and want some off the menu items and they’ll get it and make it for you. We ordered lobster and Peking duck and a bunch of noodle dishes. The fried chicken was so good too. Mama Lu’s has really attentive servers and great flavors with good portion sizes. If you want great Chinese food in 626/monterey park This is the spot!

The food is divine, we’ve ordered several different meals and loved them all. It’s become a celebration location for us. The waiters are quick to take our order and serve it in time. We haven’t tried their desert yet because we get so full!

Absolutely love Capital Seafood in Monterey Park! This gem has quickly become my go-to spot for authentic dim sum. Their house specials are simply outstanding, with a delightful variety that keeps me coming back for more. The dim sum selection, including shrimp dumplings, pork buns, and crispy spring rolls, is always freshly made and bursting with flavor. One of the best things about Capital Seafood is their generous portions at such affordable prices. You truly get amazing value without sacrificing taste. The friendly service adds to the experience, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The ambiance is inviting and visually appealing, setting the perfect backdrop for a delicious meal. And if you’re in the mood for something different, their fried rice and seafood chow mein are also fantastic options. If you're in California and craving authentic dim sum, you have to check out Capital Seafood. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

If you looking for legit Dimsum, this is your must try in LA! We’ve visited this place so many times and always left with great satisfaction! 🧑‍🍳 hats off to the dim sum chefs. The food here def tasted like handmade not packaged as you might easily find packaged dim sum nowadays in restaurants. Don’t hesitate to order random items because they don’t usually disappoint! 🤯 The environment is brain opening cool haha! It sure looks like a capital palace! 🚗 easy parking but this is a busy area, might have to drive around to find a spot during the weekends

This is a newer Cantonese-Chinese banquet style restaurant off of Garvey/Atlantic. They have lunch specials as well as 10-course menus for groups of ten people. The food was good. I think it's pretty average. I liked all three items I ordered from the lunch special: braised beef, fried tofu, and whole fish. When I visited on a weekday lunch, they were so busy. During lunch, they serve complimentary soup for the table.

Food pretty tasty. Had the beef roll and beef chow fun. Very nice. They have HK style coffee as well as tea. Prices are particularly decent right now so it seems like this is the time to try it. We showed up at just before eleven and at eleven it was like a Vegas bus showed up -- battalions of elderly people in leisure wear came in and within an hour it was packed. Hard to tell if it's the prices or the food... I suspect it's the former.

Dim sum ends at 3pm. Missed it, but dinner was awesome. Worth the drive for their regular menu. Portion size is good, food tastes amazing. Service is solid. Huge place. Recently went back for dim sum. Well worth the 50 mile drive.

Went for early dinner on a Sunday at 5. We were put at a table which had somewhat dirty/stained linen. Took a while for our order to be taken. And we had to hail waiters over for that. Food did not come out all at once. We went for dim sum and dumplings which they said they stopped serving those at 3 pm. Food was basically a pricier version of Panda express. It was good but not great.

Their food is pretty great. I've eaten here a few times in the last month and was very happy with my order. For a quick bite or to go, I recommend this place. Portions are good, and the price is more than fair.

We ordered food for a party and it was great. We arrived earlier than our scheduled pick up time and had to wait before getting the food. It came in those silver trays and was steady for transport. We got beef and broccoli, orange chicken, fried rice and noodles. The noodles are the thick orange noodles with vegetables. The egg rolls were delicious. The order also came with fortune cookies and almond cookies. I personally didn’t care for the almond cookies. The orange chicken was tasty as well as everything else.
