Sumo Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar
All around average. We do believe the quality of food didn’t match the price, as in we expected a bit more flavor.
The lunch specials at Sumos are absolutely amazing. They have $10 chicken hibachi and 3 classic rolls for $16. It was all super cheap and high quality. Staff was also awesome and even gave me a free dessert for my birthday!! Will definitely be coming back.
Cat Daddy's Fish House
They call him the Cat Daddy for a reason. This was the best fried catfish I've EVER had. He cooked it to order and brought it out piping hot. The fried okra was amazing. Also some of the most loving and friendly customer service I've ever seen. Wish I could give more than 5 stars ❤️
I was looking for something easy to eat on the Go after running into Victoria Secret to grab a few items. Decided on Cat Daddy's in the food court BC I'm a little partial to southern cooking. Ordered the Hamburger 🍔 Combo. It took at least 20min + to get my order. While they were not busy. Although there was one cashier and one cook. The mother in law of the owner was friendly. Got my food and my sweet tea (which was the right amount of diabetes! 🥰😆) And went to the vehicle to be on my way! Couldn't wait to open my food and grub. Open up my box and see that they gave me a cheeseburger after her writing my order for a "Hamburger" and her&the cook double checking verbally it's no cheese dressed with no tomato! 🥴🤦🏽♀️There was literally mustard and ketchup oozing out and the meat was thin, burger smashed and sliding to the point the burger wouldn't stay between the buns making a complete mess. Burger was a 1/10. Wouldn't recommend. Wouldn't order again. To say the least I was disappointed. Was hoping for a good burger.
China Super Buffet
I been going here for more than 10 years, best days to go is weekends!! During the week food is cold and stale! Spicy chicken had bad odor and fried rice as well! I Told the one in charged but didnt understand me and didnt care. Waitresses dont pay attention to you and wont give you refills and if you ask they get mad, seems all they care about is about tips. Overall like i said weekends are best to go!!
TLDR: I have been here for 10 years. This is like the McDonald's of buffets. If you're looking for good food and cleanliness, go somewhere else. If you're looking for a good deal for a bunch of edible food and you don't care about anything else, I still wouldn't suggest this place, but maybe it'll suit your tastes. PRICE: $15 per person, but can be cheaper for elderly and kids below a certain age SERVICE: They are all very sweet people. Polite and endearing to me. The only thing I will say that was questionable is that they once gave me a lollipop some time ago and, once in the car, found out that it had already expired. CLEANLINESS: Some tables have mold. You can see it growing and festering there for months. Oh, and the food countertops had a dead baby cockroach just laying there. I tried to discreetly take pictures of them. Either way, I don't think many people care about that here, considering how cheap the food is. Some 'clean' plates are dirty and blatantly, so (it will be obvious), so just check the plate before you take it. FOOD (POSITIVES): I mean, I enjoyed it, especially for the price. Very limited options, though. I recommend: fried green beans, siracha chicken, dumplings (tastes like the ones from Walmart frozen aisle but properly melted), clams, and broccoli stir fry. FOOD (NEGATIVES): First off, don't eat the sushi here. You'll get a stomach ache. Fruits can be mushy some days, others not. Fried rice is just rice mixed with melted frozen veggie bits, and chow mein is just lukewarm, boiled noodles with some bits of boiled cabbage. The white fish they serve is just a baked fish, and the other fried fish they serve is okay, just pan-fried but salty with little fish meat and more bone. Deserts taste dry, like battered cake powder. Everything else is either soggy, contaminated with some dead bug, ridiculously salty, really oily, or all of the above. OVERALL: I admittedly am biased for this place because of its sentimental value. If you're looking for a good meal, not a good place here. But if you're just looking to stuff yourself with more food at a cheap price and you don't mind the sometimes less than subpar food and dead bugs and mold littering the nooks and crannies (or even in plain sight), then go for it.
Panda Express
I love this Panda. The servings are very well portioned, the staff is very efficient, and despite often having a line, the wait is usually quite short. The food almost always taste great, and the rice is hardly ever undercooked. There's a staff member named Emily who is extremely efficient, and really sweet! My partner and I always rave about the quality of service she provides :)
When Dodgers win and i can use code "DODGERSWIN" for a $5 plate with 2 entrees via their app, I order pickup. Staff always seemed professional, establishment clean and food taste as good as I would expect. Easy parking.
Hunan Wok
Do not order from here. They provided a delivery time before the order was placed and then after payment was sent they informed me it would be an hour longer than that. I immediately cancelled so that I could receive food sooner from somewhere else and they still posted the charge on my CC. Over $180 charge and I got no food
I got pork fried rice & sweet & sour chicken. It was so fresh, and hot. Great place, great food, and great staff. 10/10 recommend
Panda Express
It's a nice restaurant, the food is great but they often give me a ton of cabbage when I order noodles with my meal. It's disappointing because either don't have time to check their handiwork by the time I get back to work to scarf food down for my lunch break. This was mine, and my husband had barely any noodles at all in his.
Terrible. I came in while the manager stared at me for 8 minutes before they or anyone else even welcomed me or told me they’ll be with me shortly. 0 of the entrees I wanted were made/ready. Dirty lobby with food all over the floor.
China Lee
Came in to pickup a DoorDash order and place is looking absolutely disgusting. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. Trash sitting on the table when you first walk in, mold growing on the floor where the fish tank is, grime film on the fridge door, not to mention the lady was rude as soon as I walked in told me the order wasn’t ready and to sit down for 5 more minutes and then proceeded to stare me down the entire time I sat there. I can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like. I would never eat here or recommend anyone to if they value their health
The lady is so rude told me to go to Winn Dixie because I needed to take a pee after spending 53 dollars on some food and while taking my order she was so rude like my money wasn’t no good or something because I’m white with gold teeth. I wouldn’t spend another dollar with these people. The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t great but the customer service sucked period! They leave the door open if u did decide to eat inside it’s like eating outside. She has no respect and is judgmental. If she isn’t the owner she needs to be fired or put into the kitchen! She waved her hands all in my face telling me no no go to Winn Dixie I ain’t no drug addict I ain’t trying to do anything but pee while I wait on my food! This spot is a never again “ place for me
Wok House
One of the only restaurants I've eaten at that has properly cooked their tofu dishes. The tofu is crispy and has a good coating, and they provide the sauce separate so the tofu isn't soggy. Please keep it up!
WH does know their Cantonese American. Can serve up the tradition like their chow mein. Not to be confused with the stir fried noodles, lo mein, which is what you get out west when requesting chow mein. Can recommend chow mein. Hi-ho, werewolves of London.
Happy Wok
My order was super simple and lunch has soda for free. And only one thing I do not like is I placed order in advance, however when I arrived my order was still not ready. I would recommend check on the order status prior to driving to the restaurant. But I would come back to try different food because of the large variety of different items on the menu.
I go there once a week and always have great service, great food and I be all smiles every time. The employees are wonderful mom and pops deliver great service every time. Thanks to them
House of Joy Heung Rae Gak Buena Park
Dear restaurant management, Thank you for consistently providing our family with enjoyable meals over the years. As a long-time customer, I wanted to share some feedback from our recent visit, which I hope will contribute to further enhancing the dining experience. While tipping is a widely practiced social norm in the U.S., it is not a mandate. Typically, customers tip based on the quality of service received—higher tips for excellent service and lower tips for areas needing improvement. It felt unusual when, after we paid our bill, the restaurant owner (or lady in charge) returned to inquire about the "lower" tip we provided. This interaction felt awkward and uncomfortable, especially given some service issues during our visit. For instance, a server spilled an alcoholic beverage on a family elder and did not offer an apology, simply walking away. Additionally, despite ordering additional items, the check was delivered instead of the requested food, creating confusion and leaving our family dinner on an awkward note. I share this feedback in the hope that it encourages greater attention to customer service. Exceptional service not only enhances the dining experience but also naturally results in more generous tips. We value this restaurant as a long-time customer and look forward to seeing improvements during our future visits. Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback.
It's a pretty good jjampong spot in Buena Park! A Koreanized Chinese comfort food spot. It's been a few years since I last visited, and current owners have it right with jjangmyun and Jjampong. Noodle portion was on the light side. Service is prompt but not very friendly. Maybe the server was having an off-day. Restaurant is fairly tidy. I would definitely visit for another craving of jjangmyun.
Salt & Ivy, A Coastal Kitchen
Ended up sleeping in the room past our reservation time. Happy they were open to midnight. Got in there at 9pm. Service was great! I was starving and ever bite was so good. Got the clam chowder (not that Campbell's crap), the chicken pot pie, and the key lime pie. My son's fruit cup was awesome and he didn't want it so I happily ate it with my key lime. Husband's chicken Alfredo was good. Everything came out hot and fresh. Perfectly hit the spot. Pleasantly surprised.
Before hitting the road and checking out, I had a great breakfast at Salt & I've. The Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon subbed for ham was perfectly prepared. Good Cappuccino and Coffee, and the breakfast potatoes were also great. Excellent service from Amy, and interesting Beau Rivage surroundings.
Mao
To be fair, I can’t rely comment on atmosphere once this place is located in a food court. Be advised there are two food operators here but under the same name of Mao-Shiho - one is the Chinese restaurant and the other is Japanese selling their tonkatsu. I happened to order from both sides and it appears that they work from the same kitchen so that meant while one side was cranking out food, the other side waited. Ordered he jajang myeon from the Chinese side and the King Donkatsu from the other. The jajang myeon looked good and was tasteless. My friend also ordered it and thought the same so I wasn’t alone! The King Donkatsu is impressive in size alone but size doesn’t help taste! The meat was overwhelmed by the outer batter and wasn’t very tasty. The presentation on a skillet was the most memorable part of the meal because the katsu was the size of the entire skillet! The meal was pretty underwhelming and 3 stars is on the generous side since it’s not a place we’ll return to. I also included a photo of the regular size donkatsu for scale.
The food was just ok but lady was super rude. She did not even know what she is selling. I asked spicy level (kiosk had less spicy, 1, 2, 3). She did not know what is medium. She was definitely bothered when I asked. She asked to just select anything or less spicy. ???? Basic communication cannot be done with this lady.
