I love Emmy Lou's. The food is delicious. It tastes like home cooking, but it's plated to look great as well. The best of both worlds. The restaurant is family-run and very friendly. It's a savior for people in the area looking for good food that isn't pizza or Chinese. As much as I love those options, I'm grateful to have Emmy Lou's.

3.5 stars. I love Asian cuisine. I guess I'm sort of a connoisseur when it comes to it lol. I had this place bookmarked for a while. Finally went for a late lunch recently. It's located in the Old Avon Village plaza. There were plenty of parking. The interior was nice; it looked like it used to be a frozen yogurt spot. The hostess/waitress was nice. Unfortunately, there is no kids menu, but we were able to get a small bowl to share our noodles with our toddlers. The food came out slowly, considering we were only 1 out of 3 tables. We ordered pork and shrimp spring rolls as an appetizer; it was very good and fresh with the peanut butter sauce. For my meal, I ordered the Pho House Special; it's $20.95 and has rice noodles, medium rare beef, brisket, and meatballs. This bowl was huge! The flavor was good but the broth was very oily. I added more hoison, chili oil, and siracha for more flavor. We didn't have any sauces and napkins, so we had to flag down the waitress a couple of times. Also, they never refilled our waters. I noticed the prices were very high compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. With everything factored together, I gave them 3.5 stars total.

Service was excellent and food came out quickly. Pho broth was perfectly made and really didn’t need any condiments. Rice and noodle dinner were also excellent. The only negative was the Vegetarian Egg roll was over cooked and bland.

Excellent Food and prices! Never Ever had a negative experience. Call, pick up in 10 minutes or sometimes a bit longer on a busy night but they tell you ahead..service with a smile! THE BEST !! In over 20 years I've been going there!!!

What happened to this place? I ordered the sesame chicken and some lo-mein, the flavor was very dull, the chicken had a weird rubber like texture and was gooey I give it a 0/10. The lo-mein wasnt very good, still I give it a 5/10. I threw most of the meal away. There are better choices out there.

Did not get what I ordered. Ate the rice out of what they gave me. Three slimy slices of chicken were in the chicken chow mein that they sent mostly old onions, tons of carrots and cabbage. The fried noodles that they sent to go with it were so greasy and old they were also inedible.

I got the chicken with mixed vegetables, which is a simple enough dish. While the portion was decent, there was no broccoli. Not one piece. It was just chinese cabbage with a few pieces of carrot and a few snow peas thrown in. I have never in my life had a mixed vegetable dish from a Chinese restaurant that doesn’t come with broccoli. Very bizarre.

I ordered takeout was really really good. I had à la cart sushi and a spider roll and some edamame and some mushroom soup. I highly recommend this restaurant after my first visit I will be back again!

I had the fried oysters with spicy Kani sushi appetizer, loved it! Deb had the Pork Gyoza, better known as pork fried dumplings, they were wonderful, love the dipping stuff. I had the combo hibachi chicken and lobster tail. Everything was perfect, hot and sweet Sriracha sauce made everything better for me. Deb had the General Taso's chicken with white rice, very good, huge chicken pieces. The vegetable stir fry was very good.. The fried rice and soup were awesome. The iceberg salad with that wonderful ginger dressing is so yummy. Great attentive service and the atmosphere rocked. I totally recommend!

Used to order from here all the time. Placed a big order recently which included a salad. Unfortunately my pregnant wife and 1 year old noticed well into eating this that the lettuce leaves were covered in bugs. Absolutely unacceptable to have food safety standards worse than a home cook. Thankfully no one got food poisoning, but this makes me sick.

This has become our family staple in Local Waterbury for GREAT Chinese Food and Sushi. The staff is extremely friendly and very cordial. Food is very tasty and prepared with love! I enjoy everything. My daughter loves their shrimp tempura and Miso Soup. My wife enjoys their Sushi. I've had almost everything and they NEVER disappoint.

Decent Chinese food. Exactly what you'd expect out of takeout. Pricing is very good, flavor is good. Very generous portions (especially the Lo Mien) Nothing is exceptional or notable but a solid decision for takeout in a rush. General Tso's was soggy but thick sauce. A little on the sour side. The Lo Mien was very good with great flavor. The Crab Rangoon's were soggy but had good flavor inside. Egg roll was very good. Took the typical 10 minutes from order to pickup. Can't dock it any points because it's what you'd want out of takeout.

Leftovers for pictures! Outstanding dinner tonight on 7/22/23 We got the coconut chicken combo, shrimp egg rolls, Lo Mein and Spare ribs. Everything was so fresh and flavorful!

We stumbled scores this Resteraunt while using google maps. We walked in and it was quiet and no one but the server was there. She immediately put on some Caribbean style music and came to help us and get our order. Husband got jerk chicken and I got ox tails and my son got the wings. Everything was sooo good. We had jerk chicken in Jamaica on our honeymoon and it tasted just as good here as it did on the island. The ox tails were flavorful and tender. Son liked his wings as well. If we lived closer we’d go here all the time!

Stumbled upon this place during a weekend away. The food was incredible. We had the jerk chicken and curried shrimp. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. I wish I lived closer, I’d come back all the time!

Nice, clean, quiet atmosphere. staff was very friendly, food was great,delicious, well presented n cooked perfectly. I came here for my birthday n we enjoyed every minute of it, thank you. We will return in the future for sure.

👍I would recommend giving this place a go. Parking is very limited. I ended parking across the street in the residential but it’s a small sacrifice for good food🤤. Waitress had limited English, but extremely friendly and tried to assist me to the best of her abilities. I looked up the menu ahead of time, which I’ll recommend doing before going. Food was delicious 🤤. Service was good. Decor was interesting. Music was jamming. Place was clean. Great 👍 place if you want more practice with your Spanish. Vamos.

Food is delicious. This is the second time in a month. onion baghi, Chicken Sag . Dah Makhani. Butter chicken . All delicious . First time we came we had lamb rogan, Josh and Allu Gobi. Also wonderful . This is my new favorite place to go . Staff are lovely and owner is friendly and very attentive. 10/10 recommend this place. Its a is BYOB so feel free to bring your favorite beer to pair witH these delicious dishes. Spicy is spicy!

My first time here and the food was amazing! Soft and Rich in flavor- a very rare balance to find. I had an appetizer sampler and chicken marsala - absolutely divine. Their stuffed mushrooms are blazing the seasoning mix in the marsala was Lovely! Im excited to come back and try their stuffed sole, and chicken alfredo. There is passion and love behind chef's recipes you can taste. Fine dining flavors with hefty portions. An Italian treasure here in Torrington for sure. I will be returning regularly 🥰

We truly love this place, the food was absolutely delicious. Our services was excellent. We enjoyed our meal very much. As you can see, we had already started to eat. We were visiting family and decided to go out to eat, this definitely was an awesome choice.

Pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon. The food was awesome. The portion sizes were large. You'll definitely be taking home a care package. I had a delicious beef pad thai. The spice was just right. Lots on the menu for everyone

Delicious meal! Everything was very fresh and flavorful. The lunch special is a phenomenal deal, and we even had enough for leftovers. Our table had the hot and sour soup, lo mein, fried rice, mapo tofu, udon noodles, and egg roles. The tofu was absolutely delicious!! Some of the best I’ve ever had.
