P.F. Chang's
I’m newly obsessed with this location thanks to Yazzie!! Her service was the most incredible my family have had in years, and she truly pulled together my birthday celebration. It was such a special night and she helped us find items that worked for everyone as a first timer myself, and her timing was incredible too. She has such a good memory it’s crazy- she memorized a solid 8 or so orders inputted at once, she’s incredible and I can see why so many people recommend this location to me now!! Go in for great service and great food!
Yazzie was our server and she was freaking amazing. She was very busy BUT she kept up with all her tables. I saw how she went to each table to make sure and when she came to ours, I informed her to take her time but she was amazing. She is amazing and I hope the next time I come back, she is my server again.
Sullivan Restaurant
Decent meal but $18 for a “lunch special” and another $4 for a drink was too much for this meal.
Delicious, fresh ingredients, skillfully cooked - tea bar is a lovely compliment. Dishes are flavorful and well cooked instead of being hidden by heavy sauces. Onion pancake is a treat. Dumplings are lovely. Walnut shrimp and orange chicken are crispy without being overly sweet. Vegetables in every dish are super fresh. I don’t know how I have lived in HB so long without discovering Sullivan but, now that I’ve found it, it’s our go-to for Chinese food. Don’t miss the sizzling rice soup!
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
I order steamed Tofu and brown rice with carrots, broccoli, and onions. I get a small side of bourbon sauce to lightly flavor the tofu. David helps each visit to make sure my order is correct and greets me with a great happy demeanor. They have the best plain passionfruit unsweetened iced tea.
Lived here my whole life, first time coming in. The firecracker chicken was mostly fried batter, the few pieces of chicken weren’t breast… mostly flakes / left over trimmings, dark meat etc. it was pretty gross and wasn’t worth $13. Using trash chicken covered in ok sauce kinda sucks you know? Better off going to panda or something.
The Wok Experience / Huntington Beach
The customer service was great, even during a lunch rush on a Sunday. They hook it up on portions! The chow mein, orange chicken, and mushroom chicken are great. The women at the counter are very friendly and attentive. They were dealing with an A-hole customer, but did not let it affect their mood, so props to them.
The best price , and best food , big portions and fresh !! Service great and clean restaurant..wonton soup can feed 3people
Golden Sea Restaurant
Went to an event couple days ago and was surprised of the dishes served. Although all dishes were indeed little smaller than those served at a wedding, the chef did a great job with seasoning/flavors.
It's a wedding and event banquet venue seating up to 600 people, with sound equipment, lighting and a dance floor with tasteful decorations. They serve 7 banquet menus for tables of 10; starting at $238 with 7 dishes. The $286 has Maine lobster with lo mein noodle, also fish maw soup, walnut shrimp, deep fried whole chicken, deep fried fish filets with mango chutney, fried rice ect. Top wedding menus are in $500-600 with exotic and expensive ingredients. Large sales meetings have been known to order low cost menus with only 2 dishes. Among many banquet venues, this chef is very good. All his dishes are fresh, tasty and flavorful without excess sugar, fat, spices or MSG. The wait staff was polite and efficient. Service was good. Wine bottles were popped before food was served. Even in an event with 50 tables and 500 guests, all dishes were served fresh and hot in the correct sequence to all tables within 5 to 10 minutes. They have a private room where they will cater to smaller parties with only 1 or 2 tables. BYOB and just tip the waiters, no corkage fee. This is a very nice, economical place with authentic, tasty, healthy Mandarin cuisine to take your family and wrap leftovers to go. Worth it!
Hong Kong Express
it looks like a neighborhood small restaurant. It has about 6 tables and good selection of specialty food in Garden Grove, California. Food items are presented in photo type display on counter wall. The Counter has the food in a hot plate environment front glass and top covered. You can get the one item, two item, three item dishes or other specialty dishes. Prices are reasonable. Portions are generous. One lady was the person asking you which item you want and putting it in a serving box and the other lady is the cashier. Both are friendly and they say good bye to you, when you leave. This is my second time here. First time without my wife, and second time, i brought my wife with me. Now i will go to the Barbershop next door, "Sammys" and grab lunch afterwards. Most of the clientele look like local workers and neighborhood folks. One last thing. They have fountain sodas and bottle sodas. The fountain sodas purchase allows for one free refill. Additional refills are 50 cents.
Now talk about good Chinese food. Respectfully, holy crap! The vegetables. The rice. The proteins. Every single thing is cooked perfectly, and when it’s not good any more they switch it faster then I could literally see. Every bite makes me want more. And when it comes to service, they knock it out of the park every single visit. The employees are are the nicest and most polite people I have ever had the pleasure of being served by.
China Wall
We came in the last week of Sept, looking for take out for a group of 11 adults. We got a mix of many different entrees. They were slow that evening, and when they loaded up our to-go containers, they really filled them up. they were very generous with their helping size. We took this back to the home rental we had, and it well took care of all of us, and the variation was great. I wouldn't recommend any one dish over another, but would recommend to get a mix of things and share family style. We did look at several different places to go to this night and just happened this was the one we choose, should our travels bring us back to this area again, I am certain this will be the first place we go for this type of food.
I originally just needed to use a restroom and walked into this place. Was gonna order egg rolls and leave. Upon looking at what they serve, it looked hella appetizing so I ordered another dish. To my surprise, the egg rolls were hella bomb: super crispy and fresh, the veggies inside the roll were also fresh- these are not frozen egg rolls! The woman who helped me was very welcoming and adorable. I will definitely come back here when in the area.
Panda Express
Walking into Panda Express is like stepping into a warm, delicious hug from your favorite foodie friend. The smell hits you first—sweet, tangy, garlicky goodness wafting through the air like an irresistible siren song. But let’s get to the real star of the show: the orange chicken. Oh yes, the glorious, crispy, sticky, sweet-and-spicy masterpiece that dances on your taste buds like it’s got its own rhythm. It’s my absolute favorite, and honestly, I’d fight someone for the last piece (in a friendly way, of course… maybe). Every bite is a crunchy, saucy celebration of why fast casual Asian-inspired food deserves a permanent place in our hearts—and stomachs. Pair it with some fried rice or chow mein, and boom—you’ve got yourself a flavor-packed party tray on a plastic plate. Sure, it’s not “authentic” Chinese food, but it’s authentically delicious, and sometimes that’s all you need. The staff is always speedy and friendly, the portions are generous, and you can even pretend you’re eating healthy by adding a scoop of super greens. (Balance, right?) Panda Express, thank you for keeping my orange chicken cravings alive and well. Never change.
I stopped here to grab some broccoli beef and honey sesame chicken that tasted pretty good. The meal came with fried rice and chow mein but the noodles were a bit undercooked lacked flavor. Also sesame chicken served portion was unimpressive compared to the entire meal.
Northeast Sisters 东北姐妹俩
It's the hidden gem! The grilled cold noodle tastes the same as the one in my home country and spicy mixed chicken shredded is very delicious. They open until 1am that perfect for me as a night person. I ordered online and it was ready in 10min! And glad to know that they have another location in Costa Mesa which is closer to me! Can't wait to try again!
Did a delivery for dinner. Cold noodle portion is way too small for the money I paid and the broth has no taste at all. They even put ice in the soup jar, not professional at all. As a Chinese from Northeast region, I’ve never seen dumplings served in the soup, not professional. My friend ordered the Spicy Hot Pot, looked good when he got it. But 80% of the ingredients is napa cabbage. Really bad experience. I’ll never order from this restaurant again. So disappointed.
Ta Chen Chinese Restaurant
First timer.. and I was amazed by the service and the food quality. Family owned and operated this family puts all their love into their food and you can just taste it 😋!! I order the szechuan beef and I ate every bite.
I finally got to try Ta Chen. I read the reviews beforehand but I was between errands so I only got take out. I got the sweet and sour pork lunch plate and ordered extra egg rolls and egg flower soup. You could tell it wasn't some frozen stuff that they warmed up and threw sauce over. The sauce was more sweet than sour but soy sauce fixes everything 😁. The pork was a little bit overcooked but cooked through so that's okay. The egg rolls were basic veggie and the egg flower soup was piping hot, the way I like it. I can't wait to go back for a proper sit down meal. The restaurant reminds me of the old Chinese food places my parents would take us to in Hawaii wayyyy back when. No frills, no extravagance, just freshly made food eaten on Formica covered tables and upholstered benches. It's a tiny place but the woman that helped me was kind and may've been the owner. A good first time experience and alternative to the stuff they sell in those Chinese fast food places where everything tastes the same and costs too much.
Lucky Chinese Food
My drink had a dead bug the noodles chow main was so stale tasted so odd the orange chicken was nice but it had a weird after flavor the ribs were ok the hot wings was the only good thing I thought that other review was lying so I ordered food here bc I’ve seen good reviews on TikTok nope I was wrong I’m so disappointed in my food and drink literally I’m going to throw up
I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years I don't deserve getting bad food every time I eat here. The rice noodles taste sour like they are rotten. 🤮🤢 I was dry heaving all day this is why look at the pictures and judge for yourselves. If you would eat this. There were flies everywhere even in my soup. I don't know what the black sting thing was either but it was in my soup too. 🤢🤮 What the hell am I eating? Flies and poops. It was in the food. 🤮🤢
Kung Pao Bowl
3-17-25 love coming here! The food never disappoints. 9-27-24 after coming here many of moons I still have nothing but great things to say. They have new items which was ordered tofay...but it was so good I forgot to take pictures... I only snapped 1 of their cream cheese won tons. As soon as we entered we were greeted by friendly workers. The establishment is clean and vibrant. There was no wait and was instantly helped (it was about 1 hour before they closed). As we waiting I noticed all the nice art that was in the restaurant, great energy and vibe.Everything we ordered came out in the appropriate time. Every dish we had was yummy. I liked their style of walnut shrimp... lightly flavored...not overly sweet...slightly crispy! The hostess, the waiter and the cook checked on us to see if everything was good and refilled out drinks. Over all the experience here was awesome. All the workers there are friendly and awesome!! I hope everyone who comes has a similar experience and or better.
I’m very happy with my experience here. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. I had the Mu Shu Park, Walnut Shrimp, House Fried Rice and Shu Mai Dim Sum. Delicious!
