Pyng Ho Chinese restaurant
The normal Chinese Restaurant I go to was closed...and I am open to new experiences. I should have known something was fishy because it was Friday evening and only 10 patrons were in the restaurant. We ordered shrimp fried rice and seafood noodles, and shrimp dumplings. The shrimp dumplings were good. But the scallops and other seafood had a sour, stale , old taste. We will not go there again.
Terrible don't eat here. The food remind you of 2000 Chinese, when it all went bad. The restaurant hasn't been renovated or deep cleaned since then either. Don't get me wrong they have a 95/A but the decor is dated and depressing. Yt people Chinese, cause no way. It's bland and tasteless. I'm not 100% sure the vegetables aren't plastic and they didn't bother to de-vein the shrimp.
DESI TADKA INDIAN RESTAURANT - DECATUR
I went there for dinner with my Indian friend. She loves food and atmosphere. The restaurant is in the second floor next to the elevator. The place looks clean and the musics were so nice. We ordered many dishes from vegetarian and non vegetarian menu. They have seperated menu for those who are vegetarian. We were waiting for quite while for our food but worth waiting for. The taste was so nice and came in big portion.
One of the best chicken butter masala and Garlic naan we had. I think if you need a best North Indian cuisine this is the place. Ambience - very authentic and they have auto server. Food Quality - one of the best Speed of service - good Gratuity - an auto charge 8% added to the bill Overall a good one to visit.
A1 Kitchen
First time visit, and I ordered my barometer dish on how I judge a new-to-me Asian restaurant: General Tso. It was pleasantly sweet and thick sauce - and plenty enough to flavor the rice. I have yet to understand why some “fried rice” is daffodil yellow, but the extra sauce helped that as well. I could have used more spice in my General. I appreciated the two sizable pieces of broccoli that were in my order. General Tso is never known for its vegetable content so this garnish was a bonus. But the real star was the fried dumplings. That’s what I will be thinking about for a long time to come. Crisp and delicious. And the dipping sauce had really good ginger flavor.
Always a great meal from here. Cooked fresh and great size servings. Food is always delicious and full of flavor. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
BullGogi
I visited for the first time, and I was impressed! The ingredients were fresh, and the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. He was generous with the portion and even added a warm, sweet message to my to-go order. I will return to try some of the other options!
Second time coming here and it is so good each time! First time I got udon with dumplings. This time and what’s pictured is a bulgogi bowl. Both are amazing! The ingredients are fresh and delicious. I love being able to add so much to my bowl. Highly recommend!!!
Saigon Café
It's like an IHOP of Asian food. I started eating at this location more than a dozen years ago in search of decent gluten-free and dairy-free food. It's affordable and works for that. It's been a few years since I've been back to this location and they made some nice improvements. The service is better, the inside is brighter and feels more inviting. It's much more than Vietnamese food. They serve classic Chinese dishes like Mongolian beef and Thai dishes as well. The menu is big and divided into sections. It has colorful pictures of dishes which are useful. I've tried a number of the dishes but always go back to the Singapore rice noodles. The spice and texture is a unique combination that I don't find elsewhere. The spring rolls are also a favorite of mine. This is about having a dependably good meal that is affordable with quick table service. I love Vietnamese food but this is like a gateway to more authentic restaurants that may feel authentic but may scare you off.
As a first-time customer, I asked a server for a recommendation. Without hesitation, he gave me a P1 or P2 recommendation. The P1 flavor was much more than I expected. All the servers were friendly and professional. The mango smoothie was just the right combination with the pho P1. Clean, friendly, outstanding taste, and reasonable price. Thumbs up!
Wonder Wok(Chinese Food&Wings)
Classic chinese fast food. The large chicken and broccoli comes with good portions and juicy chicken. The fried rice is a little different than other places I've been, comes with onions and sprouts. All tasty!
First time coming into this establishment and looks can be deceiving. Nonetheless, the food was bussing. Following the reviews about the crab Rangoon and they did not disappoint. Found my new favorite Chinese spot I got general tso chicken combination plate with a shrimp roll and crab Rangoon.
Canton House
I entered the previously mentioned establishment upon high hopes. I had wishes for delicious food, and a large amount of hunger looming over me, to make a long story short my wishes were not even close to redeemed. We entered and the service was delightful, kind warm eyes, but then we were thrown away. We were ignored and left in the dust. We had to sit there, just sad and alone. The worst part was the food itself. To sum things up, that was the worst restaurant I have ever tasted. Please, I’m begging you, I need you to hear my pleas. Never visit this place, EVER. I mean no disrespect to the owners, I’m sure they are trying, but I really regret my visit and I might never eat again after this. I remember the moment I was grabbing some beef from the buffet, thinking “The smell is probably deceiving, it could smell bad and still taste good.” I was WRONG. It was NOT GOOD. I left a photo of my plate as it was finished, mind you this was the first time in my life I couldn’t even finish a single plate at a buffet. So again. Please don’t go. I’m really warning you. Also we paid $30 for 2 people, what a joke!
This is my most favorite place in Decatur to eat!!! Ms ling and her husband Jimmy have been taking care of us for years and we are so grateful for them both! I hope canton will stay around for many years to come! We love you guys!!!
Alfah Restaurant
The food itself is fine. Not the best, but also not bad. I did find it hilarious though that they added cilantro to the top of a dish totally wrapped in aluminum foil. Also the masala fries are just fries coated with the same seasonings as the chicken 65. They still taste just like fries though so I wouldn't recommend that. Overall, not bad by any means, but not the best in the area either.
The food was hot and delicious! The service was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Great value!
noodle
Excellent food. The portion size was good and the food was temperature hot! I had the sesame chicken and my husband enjoyed the soup! Enjoyed the outdoor seating.
First off, in case you don't know, 99% of people seem to order takeout from here. Even though they have plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, when we went on an evening for dinner, we were the only ones dining in. There's zero ambience, but what I mainly didn't like was the dish that I got. 95% of it was just greasy noodles. The only vegetables in the dish were a handful of tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms with a few sprigs of basil. On the menu the dish is described so well and seems tasty, but I really just paid $13 for greasy noodles. Tip: if you can't find street parking since it's sparse, park in the deck that's on the SAME SIDE of the STREET as the restaurant. I made the mistake of parking in the deck across the street and paid a lot of $$$!!
Green Ginger Asian Fusion Restaurant
In town from Nashville, TN looking for a quick bite to eat, randomly found this place. I ordered the lunch special Noodles Bowl with tofu, it comes with soup or salad and an egg roll. WOW so much food for such an amazing price! Megan was our server and she was very attentive, kind and overall great with the service.
Been here twice and the food is good. Had well prepared sushi and with pan fried Gyoza (not deep fried!) tonight which was quite good. Loved the yacht rock playing giving the place a smooth and relaxing vibe.
New China
Actually I would give them a negative 4 (-4). We have been ordering from them ever since they opened and have been happy until tonight. It was there worse we have ever gotten from them. Nothing was eatable. We had to give the four dishes we ordered to the dogs. We will not be ordering from them again.
Food taste good but there are a few things that definitely need improvement. Vegetables need to be getting steamed atleast 15/20 minutes longer. Rice was great and the chicken Definitely was a pleaser. Plate could be a bit bigger for serving so to make it easier to add sauce but otherwise I'd give them 💯 compared to other places around decatur for price and quality of food and staff!
Chow King Buffet & Grill
I can't believe it's only $8.99 for an all-you-can-eat buffet. The food was pretty good with a wide variety of food. I would definitely come again if I was in town
This was the first time visiting. The staff were very attentive. The atmosphere was pretty good. However, the food was a bit off the mark. I am a huge egg roll snob so I would definitely give a 4.5 star on that alone. The honey chicken was extremely tough as if it was chicken jerky and the sauce did not taste like honey. The rangoons were pretty good but a little chewy than I'm used to. I'm not sure I'll be back which is sad because we just moved here and finally got the chance to come try their food.
