This is the best hot and sour soup I've had in my whole life. So many good bites of pork, tofu, mushroom and water chestnuts. They do not skimp and the broth is the star of the show. So tasty!!
We got taxed twice on a $80 order, our food was not bagged, it was out in an open box, 20 minutes later I get home and it's hardly warm.
Tom Moy Cafe
This is under new ownership and the quality in food is UNBELIEVABLY bad compared to the previous owner. To pay $40 for general tsos chicken that is WAY too salty, lo mein that is nothing like the old Tom moys, and even the egg rolls were SO salty. Probably way too much MSG. But if you’re looking for the same Tom Moy you grew up on, this is NOT it unfortunately. Beyond disappointed. On top of that, they called 5 minutes after I left to let me know they forgot the chicken for the general tsos chicken. To make up for it they gave us a small bag of hard cookies… highly do not recommend.
I’ve been eating here since I was a kid. I loved coming in and going to the buffet and seeing the koi fish pond and overall remembering the quality and experience that I’ll forever cherish when Connie and her husband owned the place. I ordered there last night and I somehow got stuck with a $60 total for a pint of fried rice, two orders of wontons and sesame chicken for two people. I physically don’t know how that is possible given that there is no updated menu ANYWHERE online. I asked for a receipt to hopefully see an itemized bill to perhaps justify the cost but no luck, it’s a simple printout showing the total charge. I also found it hilarious that the screen also prompted for a tip, respectfully I skipped. The fact that they have an 8 year old boy taking phone orders, running the register and taking my payment is not only unprofessional but also highly illegal. It’s bittersweet to say but I’m almost glad the place is empty every time I’ve stopped in for takeout. Prices continue to rise while the experience of what Tom Moy used to be falls. There are also about 5 signs saying no refunds and you’re forced to pay first if you dine in and there is a dine in charge you have to additionally pay shows the difference between a restaurant I’d love to come back to and a joke of a business. Last night is the last experience I’ll have here. The owners now should truly evaluate their business practices and learn from these mistakes and customers that have been loyal for years that continue to be lost. It’s only a matter of time until they close.
