Cooper's Corner
We went here last night to celebrate a birthday and the menus were pretty cool with all tablets. Our server was friendly and the food came out fast. But the food and the drinks were subpar. The sausage on the pizza was too crispy, the sangria just tasted like watered down wine, the escargo was nothing special and such a disappointment. I ordered the two fillets with the risotto and I ordered it rare but it came out medium rare. The risotto was tasted too lemony. All over a disappointment and I would not come back.
Service & ambiance is fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful too. My gripe is with the food, mostly about it all being super bland. We had a party of 4 and all of us (even my picky kids) complained about the lack of flavor in everything we had. If you prefer simple, straightforward flavors, this spot is a great choice. However, if you’re looking for a bit more boldness and excitement in your meals, you might want to explore other options.
Gianorio's Pizza
This is my favorite pizza place. Very flavorful sauce. Crust is quite tasty. I love their standard thin crust, while my husband prefers either the calzone or ultra thin crust (he loves that cracker thin, crispy crust). The variety of topping options makes everyone happy. The frozen pizzas are also well worth it - same price as grocery store pizzas, but so much better! They always have delicious desserts to take home as well.
I can't possibly say enough about Gianorio's pizza. This is the best pizza I have ever had in my 73 years, and I've had a lot. I make my own and can't duplicate it. YOU CAN'T LOSE. They're only open 4 hours a day Wed. through Sun. They don't deliver- they don't have to and can't keep up with the demand they get. There are two of them, the best of which is in Winfield Illinois, the other is in Lombard Illinois. Their deserts are also some of the best we've EVER had. "Get some" is all I can say.
Royal China
Honestly if I could leave 0 stars I would. We moved out here 5 years ago and the first time we had it, it wasn't too bad. Since then it has gotten worse and worse and tonight was my last straw. I NEVER leave reviews but this one is needed, the food is sooo bad that it tastes like they haven't changed their grease they cook in for legit 5 years. I usually get the same order lo mein crab rangoon sweet and sour chicken but about a year or 2 ago I had to stop with the lo mein because it was that bad. Tonight I was craving crab rangoon and thought ok let's do it, worst decision ever. Not only do I feel like I just ate 20,000 McDonald's burgers that were 20 years old but I literally just made myself throw up to get the dumpster fire they call food out of my body, absolutely NEVER AGAIN.
I have been ordering here for years. The people, the food. 5 stars. Every time. My kids and grandkids are so picky. Whenever they visit we order from here.
Asia Wok
Asia Wok is rated 4 stars in my book because of the food! It was good, hot, and enough for 2 meals - at least for me. I actually wanted to visit the luncheon buffet, but dine-in area was closed off, as depicted in picture. Another customer waiting, said since Covid the dine-in area has been shut down and there is no word, if/when it will open back up! He calls in his order for pick up. This was on a Saturday. Maybe during the week it is open, but I would have to go back during the week to check it out.
We’ve only ever done pickup, but this is our go to for Chinese food. I’ve never ordered anything here that we wouldn’t recommend. Top notch, and excellent speed and service on top.
Chinese Ho Carryout
From a visit back in June. Great option for a night when you're craving takeout -- an extensive menu. Plentiful portions, especially for dining out! Tried the sesame chicken entree and I recommend it; overall really decent Chinese option for Winfield
Hello, fellow human friends! We called in and ordered from Chinese Ho for pickup. They unfortunately do not offer delivery, which is a bit of a bummer. The food was ready at the time given, which was about 40 minutes. It was freshly cooked and still piping hot once it made it home. Their aroma-filled eggrolls had a wonderful crunch with every savory bite and were stuffed with chopped cabbage and a faint hint of peanut butter. Their pot stickers were moist, chewy, and rich with minced pork flavor. When dipped in the sweet soy sauce provided, it delivered a unique array of umami flavors. The lo mein came with a bounty of BBQ pork and assorted vegetables, and the whole entrée was, in general, quite plentiful and filling. The spaghetti pasta was an interesting choice for noodles. I didn't hate it, but I also wasn't thrilled about it. Next time, I'll try their other noodle option. Give this place a try if you're craving some mediocre yet filling Chinese food and are in the area. Once night fell, we howled our contentment at the moon in celebration of our enjoyment of an average succulent Chinese dinner. Come check out the Ho. Cheers! Quick edit: Some of the food they advertise as "spicy" is not, in fact, spicy. For example, the General Tso's chicken is absolutely not spicy, and neither is the beef Satay, which tasted exactly like Mongolian beef minus the green onions.
