Chen’s Shanghai 外婆家
We went here on a Sunday for lunch and we didn't have to wait to get a table. Parking: no parking on the lot, it's mainly a pass through lot with only 2 space for cars. You need to park on the adjacent strip mall lot next door or at the goodwill parking lot across the street. Menu is good and extensive. We ordered like 6-7 dishes and they were all pretty good. We like the shredded lamb chops, dry pot pork intestine, chili fried chicken, and dry string beans. We also ordered the fish in foil with garlic flavor and it was good but so and so. Fried rice and chow main was also good and kids like them. Rice is not included here so you have to order some white rice. Portion sizes are reasonable for the value. They serve tea and water here. Only one person was taking the order and bringing the food. She is very kind and moves fast. On a busy day, it might be slower service if she is the only person. Food overall comes quick so you won't be too hungry before food comes out! Overall, this place is a good addition to have in this area. They also have extensive menu which makes it desirable to come back several times to try something new! If you are in the area, give this place a try!
We have visited several times and tried a variety of dishes, everything was delicious! Sometimes the servers were very busy but overall the service was great. Highly recommend their squirrel fish, yum!
Peking House
I don't know why this place has bad reviews. I've been here several times with my family and we always are happy. The staff is very helpful, especially when we have food allergies. The food is fresh and flavorful. We ask for No MSG and we order vegan. Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans here. Also they will make a dish with no meat or sub for tofu if you ask.
Had a Friday dinner with a former workmate, satisfying our Chinese food cravings. Always enjoy black tea, though there was a stain in the cup—maybe lemon. Not a big deal. The restaurant was spacious with ample parking, but funny enough, we were the only ones there! After leaving, we discovered another room—it was a bar. Now we know where everyone was! Tried the house special soup; not as "special" as expected, just egg, shrimp, peas, and carrots, but still tasty. Followed by broccoli, mushroom, and the highlight—beef fried rice! The service is excellent, and they even help organize the leftovers we couldn't finish! A delightful evening that left both my tummy and mind happy.
Black Pearl Restaurant
Wonderful, I've eaten Chinese food here several times and I've used take out as well. I've always had good solid Chinese food and I've never encountered a mistake. They also deliver and are hard working folks who take pride in what they do. I definitly recommend this as a simple way to solve dinner on a hectic night. Portions are a good size so don't over order unless you want leftovers. There is a counter you can sit at or you can opt for a table or booth. Enjoy!
Black Pearl is closed. The location is now occupied by a different business named Chen’s Shanghai reviewed under that name.
