10/10 on the pan fried dumplings with chili oil sauce. Top notch tasty! Service was quick, polite and restaurant was clean with a slick style. I enjoyed my visit and would definitely recommend if you love dumplings.

We are from Vancouver Canada and just came here for a quick visit last week as it was a long weekend in Canada. We saw this restaurant during an evening walk in Chinatown and I came here to check it out the next day. It was Sunday afternoon it was not super busy, they also had lots of staff, but no one was helping at the reception area. I saw a machine and figured I could register myself. It asked for your name, phone number and if you preferred a table or high bar seating. I was in my early pregnancy so I preferred a table. While waiting for my table, I did see other people asking the manager for help, but he told them just to use the machine by themselves, so I guessed I did the right thing. I got the urge to write this review because within a week of this visit, I just received a scam call from Seattle by a man speaking in Mandarin. Visiting this restaurant was the only time I shared my phone number in Seattle. The man asked me if I could hear him in Mandarin. Pretending I did not understand Mandarin, I replied in English and asked, "Who’s this?" and he replied in Mandarin if I could speak in Mandarin. I hanged up and he sent me a text to ask what happened. I hope someone will look into this if their system was hacked. I also wanted to make a note that when it was my turn to have my table, the manager told me he did not have any table right now and asked me if I could sit at high bar instead. I believed he just did not bother to clean up the table for me as I was by myself. A couple of big groups of customers just left and hence two long tables were available. I understood my bump was not visible, so I didn’t want to express my need again and just compromised. I ordered a Dan Dan noodle as I was not hungry and just wanted to checked out this place. Having eaten a lot of Dan Dan noodle at various restaurants/ countries, their Dan Dan noodle was by far the smallest portion I had ever seen. I took a video of it. It was like two big mouthful of noodle or an appetizer at a Korean restaurant. However, the noodle was very flavourful. It was not in a booth which was different from what I expected. The sauce might be a little bit too rich/ greasy for me. I had a slight discomfort in my stomach for the rest of the day. No complaints, though, as it was not expensive and the small portion just turned out to be perfect for what I needed. I might try their dumplings instead if I would come back to this restaurant because they looked good.

The sichuan food here had us all craving more. I loved the notes of numbing pepper in every dish. The standout dish for us was the spring onion chicken in pepper sauce. While traditionally, the sauce is used as a dipping sauce and there is always never enough for the amount of chicken served, this restaurant flips that notion on its head and serves the chicken drowned in the sauce and I love it. There’s numbing pepper in here as well and we found ourselves adding this oil/sauce onto almost every other dish. The cumin lamb on toothpicks were perfectly tender and chewy and so so flavorful. Definitely a must try if you love cumin lamb. The boiled fish was a bit different than I expected but it was a pleasant dish to round out the spiciness of everything else. I wasn’t a huge fan of the spicy popcorn chicken but it definitely had an aura of better quality. I personally preferred the oily spiciness in the way that other sichuan restaurants do it. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. Can’t wait to take my friends and family here

Beware that this place is SPICY! The food is really good if you can stomach it. The spice is rated out of 5, and the mapo tofu was a 2 and it was just the right amount of sichuan heat. The depth of flavor is really rare from my experience with mapo tofu - this place did not disappoint. The mung bean noodles were fun but kind of lacked flavor overall. Fried rice was legit. Would love to try other things on the menu.

Everyone was so friendly! Regulars left and right and it was clear this place is a pillar in S St. Paul. I got the wonton soup and the combo #2. Will absolutely be back! Super cheap and filling!

We didn't know what to expect when we visited Peking Cafe on our travels. It's a very unassuming little restaurant. The atmosphere is not modern and looks a bit rough. The many over patrons seated inside told me this was a trusted place for good food. Our server was timely and attentive, but not overly friendly. Our food arrived quickly and received a glowing review from most of our family of 5.

I've eaten here a number of times over the past year or so and they've been great every time. Their hot and sour soup is currently my favorite in the area and I will occasionally just buy two larges to guarantee I have more for later because I will devour the entire quart of it in 20 minutes. The salt and pepper fish is delicious and is one of my regular orders here. I've had a few other dishes from them during their lunch special hours and have not been disappointed.

We ordered from the lunch menu. I had Sweet and Sour chicken with fried rice and egg drop soup. She had Mongolian chicken with fried rice and hot and sour soup. The chicken is large pieces, very good, but hardly any sauce on either order. We both liked the fried rice. The fried shrimp was also good.
