Peony offers an upscale Chinese dining experience, with prices reflective of the generous portions. The cuisine stays true to its roots, though some dishes cater to American tastes. Beware of the beef ribeye fried rice, though—it's hit or miss. Last time, it was exceptional; this time, the beef had a hint of sourness. The restaurant’s vibe is uniquely appealing for a Chinese eatery, but the service could use improvement, which seems to be common in the area. Convenient parking nearby makes it a spot worth trying.

We ended up eating family-style at this location, having some of the spicy crispy fish fillet, mapo tofu w/ pork, eggplant w/ beans, pork soup dumplings, and ribeye steak with rice The concept of including a rice dish to eat some of the other dishes with was smart because none of the other dishes came with rice I thought the mapo tofu was the best of these. It wasn’t really spicy - definitely more on the sweet side, but I thought the flavor really came through here. Both the tofu and the pork were pretty fantastic as well Surprisingly, I also enjoyed the eggplant and green beans. Normally, I don’t like eggplant, but the fact that it was good here was impressive. I liked how soft it became after cooking I can’t say I liked the other things I had though The soup dumplings were fine, but they were certainly lacking on the soup. The pork wasn’t that great either The ribeye steak included in the rice didn’t taste well cooked at all - it was difficult to break apart and not very good With the spicy & crispy fish fillet - I liked the spice level, and the inside was pretty good, but I thought the breading was light and the spice being a dry spice made it difficult to eat more than a couple, even mixing it with rice. This place is quite expensive - as most of our dishes were over 25 dollars. I don’t think it’s worth that price Overall, definitely not one of the top-tier Chinese food I’ve had, but not the worst either. 6.5/10

Came here because we saw some decent reviews on Google. It was a Saturday afternoon when we came. The food was ok. Soup dumplings were a bit cold by the time we received our order. The entire order took a while to be prepared, and it turns out the crepe was the hold up. Felt like the kitchen could’ve timed the rest of the items better to keep everything fresh/hot. The pan-seared buns were actually far juicier and tastier than the soup dumplings and definitely the start of the meal. They also sell frozen items as well.

We came here because of a friend’s recommendation, and it turned out to be great! We enjoyed the fried soup dumplings, steamed soup dumplings and Jian Bing. Those dumplings were very juicy. The side dishes such as cucumber and sichuan cabbage were also pretty good. It’s a nice place for a quick bite.

I had a great meal at Jiangnan Restaurant. The place is clean, nicely decorated, and has a cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was quick. The food was delicious—especially the Spicy Pickled Pepper Bullfrog and Shrimp. Everything was fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavor. You can tell they put care into each dish. If you’re looking for tasty and authentic Jiangnan-style food, this is a great spot to try. I’d definitely go back and recommend it to others.

We were excited to try out this new restaurant, especially the Peking duck. Browsing through the menu was super exciting as there are so many dishes we want to try. Then reality struck. The pork belly in the braised pork belly in black tea sauce was tough. It's supposed to be a delicate dish that melts in your mouth. But this dish was chewy. There were more fried dough than chicken in the deep-fried dried chicken with dried pepper. I think they could do away with the fried dough. The fried rice was very disappointing too. It didn't look appetizing, and the taste lacked "wok hei" Finally the duck showed up. Instead of showing us the whole duck, it was already sliced and set on a plate. The skin color didn't look anything like the picture on the window. The skin was somewhat crispy, but the meat is a bit cold. We've tried Iden Quan Ju De in Vancouver. If that was a 10 in Iden, then Jiang Nan's would be around 5 at most. It lacks presentation, freshness, and crispiness. But the overall taste is okay, probably not worth the price tag. The operational flow of the restaurant is still not smooth as the staff is new. They would forget to check in on our table. We had to flag them down several times to refill our drinks or switch out the plates for wrapping the duck dish. The ordering process was completely awkward as there's only one tablet for the entire table to browse through the menu. The ordering was confusing as well as tlit asked us to enter the table number. Then we found out we were seated in a different table than what they had told us from the front desk. The serving staff brought us several dishes that we hadn't ordered. We told them we didn't order those, or we could have gotten extra dishes for free. Unfortunately it wasn't a great experience as we had high expectations for such a supposedly high caliber restaurant. Perhaps we would give it another chance in six months after they work out all the flaws in their process.

Authentic and Quick food. Great service. Peking duck crepe was delicious and a fairly large service for 1 person as it comes with 2 crepe wraps. Could serve 2 people as a snack. I had the option for extra sauce inside and it was free. I just wish the crepe itself was a bit more crispy on the outside. Definitely have to eat sitting down and less on the on go.

I loved the authentic taste of the crepes here—they’re perfectly thin, crisp, and packed with flavor. The service was quick, even during busy hours, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend stopping by if you want a true crepe fix without the wait!

The food is delicious. We really enjoyed the passion fruit prawns and our roast duck. They will cut the duck in front of you during weekends. What an experience! My friends love their Zen Garden cocktail. We ordered 2!

Very enjoyable Monday evening dinner! We visited so that we could try the renowned Peking Duck. We were originally going Sunday evening but had to reschedule and benefitted from the Monday special ($58 rather than $88) Signature Peking Duck. We started with the smoked mackerel (rich with umami flavor), passion fruit prawns (large battered shrimp) and soup dumplings (xiao long bao) with a couple of glasses of rose champagne. Then we were both given servings of hoisin, sugar, sliced green onions, sliced cucumber and (unconventionally?) sliced honeydew melon (it is good with the duck!!). We shared a double steamer of individually separated super thin pancakes. A heaping plate of the duck arrived with plenty of duck meat and lots of fatty skin. We were very happy and polished most of it off! Our server, Franny, is wonderful. Very attentive and she arrived, as if by magic, just when we needed her. It's a good sign when the folks working in a place are clearly happy to be there and excited for you to try their food. A manager came to check on us and ensure we had enjoyed everything. We really did and we'll be back.

I’ve been to Panda Express a good amount of times, but this was my first time at this location. I decided to opt for a healthy option this time and got mixed greens with teriyaki chicken and broccoli beef. This actually surprised me at how solid it was. I thought the base could’ve been better, as the broccoli tasted a bit undercooked, and was kind of hard to bite through. If it was cooked for longer, and seasoned with literally anything, I think this dish could’ve been significantly improved. This was especially the case since this meal ends up just being mostly broccoli. I do love the portion size of the greens though, as it basically fills up the whole bowl. The best part of this meal were the meats, however My favorite of the two was the beef, as it was super tender and really flavorful. I thought it was surprisingly soft and juicy coming from a fast food place, especially since I’ve had way worse beef in much fancier restaurants. I also thought the chicken was impressively juicy with a great exterior. The one thing I do wish on the chicken was that it was cut into smaller pieces, as it’s just not easy to cut it with the plastic forks they provide. At least provide plastic knives! In terms of the sauce, I liked its presence, as it was able to coat the broccoli, but I did think the teriyaki was missing that sweet flavor which should be present. It tasted more like a sauce that was there to add wetness and slight soy-sauce-ness rather than to impart a distinctive flavor For the price of around $10, this portion size was pretty excellent - especially when you consider that I could’ve gotten a massive bowl of noodles + orange chicken + honey shrimp and it would’ve been the same price as well Overall, I liked this meal and found the meat surprisingly good for the price. 8/10

Came on a Sunday around lunch, queue out the door, very inefficient service, shoutout to Alexa who was doing 90% of the service, scooping food taking orders and working hard while one guy was just doing basically payments and another person was on his lunch. You guys definitely need to sort that out Food was OK
