China Star
This place has one of the best Chinese fast food from beef, chicken all the way to the fried rice. There crab Rangoon are amazing! Bug portions and great prices! #OMARating 9/10!!
We stopped here for a meal on our way home from Hampton, and it was one of the worst dining decisions we've made. We ordered two family meals for our group of five, expecting ample food, but it was far from enough. Normally, a single family meal suffices at most restaurants, but here, the portions were shockingly small. On top of that, the prices were absurdly high—$7 for a quart of white rice and $2.30 for a single shrimp roll, which is completely unreasonable. As for the food quality, it was incredibly disappointing. The shrimp rolls had a fishy aftertaste and were barely filled. The chicken on a stick was the only thing that came close to being decent, but even those kabobs were tiny. The lo mein, sesame chicken, and beef and broccoli were inedible. The lo mein had an unpleasant, strange taste, the sesame chicken tasted like a bland General Tso’s with no spice, and the beef and broccoli was completely flavorless and lacked any sauce. We had to add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and MSG just to make it edible. It's baffling how this place maintains a rating above 4.0. Honestly, it deserves no more than a 2.0. Save yourself the disappointment and find a better option if you're looking for decent Chinese food in Williamsburg. Do yourself a favor and travel elsewhere, if this is the best Williamsburg has to offer!
Top's China
The cashier was very friendly, my family and I requested some changes to the dishes and they gladly did so. The place was very full and yet the order didn't take more than 15 minutes. The food was plenty and very delicious. They even gave us 2 eggrolls.
Stopped here for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised by how quick and delicious the food was! I tried the szechuan chicken it was very good. I also got to try thw chicken teriyaki on a stick and that was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. If you're hungry for Chinese you should check this place out.
Golden China Chinese and Japanese Restaurant
This was a great spot for delicious foods! The chicken wings were a nice size, cooked to perfection, seasoned well and crispy. The Pork Lo Mein was delicious with tender tasty pork. The Chicken Egg Foo Young was delicious and cooked just right! The House Fried Shrimp was filled with Chicken, Beef, Shrimp and Pork was the best and the shrimp roll too! There is plenty of free parking, take-out and/or eat inside. Friendly service and your food is cooked just for you so it’s piping hot!! YES!! I do recommend them to my family, friends, friends of friends and, NOW, the World 🌎 too!! Check them out!! It’s delicious!!
I won’t be returning I paid 8.00 for a scoop of dry food. I had to add sauce
Peking Restaurant
This is a hard one. I wanted to like this place, but the just doesn't come close to what a buffet like this should be. The food is bland, very vinegary, or very spicy. They don't have what I would call a normal selection. It's very small. Some of the food is kept warm by Sterno heaters. That's odd and raised a question of food safety. They could fix this. I think it could be a great restaurant but we won't be back.
The flare of the place is really interesting and the staff was nice enough. I only say nice because I was doing a take out. The food was your typical buffet of this type, but I will have to come back during a peak time to see what it’s like when fresh. I went inbetween lunch & dinner so the food looked and tasted like it had been sitting a little too long.

Went in at 2pm for lunch Shared photo of food, receipt and details of experience highlight: I ordered off the lunch specials & I ordered for 02 people; i enjoy food (+) Plus + Servers are dressed in tie, shirts tucked & clean (when one prides in themselves, the likelihood of their details in service is better) + Rose's on the tables ( This displays scheduled routine of upkeeping the space daily, which i respect) + Advisory signs placed for guests that are picking up (shows they review reviews) because i read every negative review before I enter an establishment mainly looking for food-posioning &/or scammers/thief which i didn't see just subjective services. + Servers started to set up dining room for dinner time with table cloths, silverware, water glassware (displays routine in anything is discipline to a degree) + Service from greet to payment respectful & menu explained due to the wording placement on menu is confusing + Price for Quality & quantity of food is great. i order raw to cook food, from ginger dressing salad, sashimi, wonton soup to other items displayed on receipt + Enjoyed the decor of my eatting area (-) Negative - Noticed that all tables were pre-set; therefore, assumed tables don't have cloths as like dinner time for lunch. My table was "sticky" as if a quick wipe was done, along with pieces of fried wontons on the floor below the table. (This is a minor detail for me) since the floor in general was clean. I've eatten in the streets of Mexico to Thailand to other places on earth. Safety (food handling) & Quality/quantity of food to Price is what i mainly look for. Reason for all 05 Stars, I came alone but I will return with my family. Thank you for the experiences y'all.
this place tried to coerce us to remove our honest review for a refund. as a fellow business owner, I can’t believe a business would do this, not to mention it’s illegal! tread lightly and read all their negative reviews prior to ordering! Don’t waste your time!

To be honest we didn't have high expectations due to the reviews, and it was late in the evening, but WOWZA! The schezuan hot pot was the absolute best I have had in America ( I added chicken) and the grandmother's recipe chicken my husband got he said was delicious! It was his birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! Absolute delight! 💯
Steamed shrimp dumplings were good the pancake was good not a fan of the dipping sauce. The lamb was spicy and delicious. Chitterlings was not as i was expecting but to spicy. Plum wine was a great
China Wok
Good place for some fast Chinese cuisine. We had Bourbon Chicken and Pork LoMein both of which were prepared in generous portions. Both dishes were good but the flavors seemed muted and could have had a little more punch. The atmosphere of the dining area was lacking and is pretty spartan. I would stick with carryout for the best experience.
I go to Chinatown on occasion. The food is generally okay and comes fairly quickly. The problems i see are you have get prices off the menu and the web site because you will not get a receipt. The staff are friendly but do not speak English very well. They are difficult to cumunicate with at best. If you pay with a card they will show you a receipt that says no signature required and hand you a pen . They want you to give a tip when you decline they mumbles and take the receipt back not to be seen again.
New China
Absolute best Chinese takeout in all of Williamsburg, Virginia!!! they are super fast with their food, always very kind and lovely, and the best cut of meats anywhere around. I’ve been coming here for almost 4 years, but I’ve never had any questionable bits of chicken or beef. Their dumplings are in house made and not bought from a Costco like some places.
This is such a pleasant surprise in a place not known for good Chinese food. We gotten takeout twice now, and have been pleased with the care taken. The dishes that should be spicy were actually spicy! Hot and sour soup that makes your lips tingle, Singapore Mei fun that is pungent with curry, and well flavored Kung pao chicken with tons of vegetables, chicken, and peanuts. I did add chili crisp to the Kung pao, because I like it very spicy. We also got shrimp egg foo young, which was also generously filled with shrimp and veg. And the bout and sour soup had so much tofu, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots that it’s almost a meal in itself! We also got crab Rangoon, which is a childhood favorite. This was nicely balanced, with (I assume) surimi and cream cheese, and nicely seasoned. Nothing was greasy, although we got several fried items. Portions were generous, and the service was friendly and efficient. What I really appreciated was that they asked if I wanted condiments. I didn’t, because I have them at home, and hate having to toss extras. I love authentic Chinese food, but there’s always a place for well made American Chinese, served by friendly local restaurants.
Top's China Restaurant
Good place for a quick lunch been to this location about 10 times no issues so far the chicken beef and vegetables always cooked correct wouldnt recomend it for a sit down eat honestly unless your on lunch break from your job, but as far as take out thay move people fast , food is hot and good
I have always had a good experience at Tops China. Not so much this time. 1/2 our order was missing. Too salty. Going to think twice before I order again.
China Wok
The food was mediocre at best. I think the rice was pretty good but the chicken was not good at all. Never had sesame chicken that tasted this way. Not impressed!
Food was disgusting ordered through door dash NOTHING LIKE THE OTHER CHINA WOK!!!!! WHAT A COMPLETE DIFFERENCE
Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant
Was looking for vegetarian food. Ordered mushu vegetables and Kung Pao tofu. While the food and the atmosphere is not amazing, it is the best value out there. This type of Chinese restaurant always gets a bad rep because some people expect a fine dining experience or misunderstand the host due to the language differences. She is trying her best to answer phones, take orders, hand out orders at the same time all day, so if you are giving one star because how she put the pen down then it is not a restaurant review anymore.
Called and quickly placed order for pickup, and they had it ready quickly (got there maybe 15 minutes later and it was ready for me). The food tasted great. The roast pork wasn’t exactly what I expected but it was good.
No 1 Restaurant
Love, love, love this place. In a time when just about everybody is ignoring special requests this place shows the love. I ordered the roast port Mei Fun and asked: “"Add any and all extra vegetables, please. And XXX spicy. With lots of hot sauce in bag. Thank you." And they nailed it. Added broccoli and snap peas and made the spice really good. I still wanted hot sauce and got a ton. Go here. Order from here. Either way you’ll enjoy it!
Just a standard fast food chinese. I've tried a food different food but we r fans of their sweet and sour as well as chicken and broccoli. Their crab ragoons r good too
