Aloha Hawaiian BBQ
This is a good no frills place for some affordable Hawaiian food. It’s a little shabby inside but also cozy with a few decorative touches. You can dine in or take your food to-go. My crispy shrimp plate and mango sticky rice were both really good and made fresh. Nothing fancy, but the food hits the spot and is a decent portion for the price you get.
It just opened and I’ve been twice already! Great service. They even remembered me. The portions are generous and the food is on point. This area was in need of something different. I got the Hawaiian BBQ mix the first time and loco moco this time. Both were delicious! Needless to say I will be back!
House of Lechon
Update - I came back for more! It’s just so good. As usual, order via Facebook Messenger so when you get there it’s gonna be an easy pick up! I added a slowdown video on how you can pull the meat apart easily! Google wouldn’t let me upload a 3 seconds vid. Oh my goodness! I can’t believe they have Lechon here in Virginia. I was very excited to try their lechon and finally during Sunday, we picked up our order which was the Per Pound Sunday! It has been 5-6 years since I have tried lechon. I placed my order via Facebook Messenger and they responded pretty quickly even though it was during closed hours. The atmosphere definitely reminds me of any Lechon business back in Philippines which I greatly appreciate since it reminds me of home. As for the lechon, it was delicious! My family back in Philippines have a preferred lechon business and House of Lechon definitely matched the preferred lechon business we have in the Philippines. The lechon was juicy, not dry, you can pull apart the meat very easily and crispy! I will definitely order again.
The food here is amazing and for the price it can't be beat. I don't know anywhere you can get such friendly service with a huge amount of fried food. Each time I order from them it's a celebration just to pick it up with photos and help to safely put it in the car. Great place and I can not recommend them enough for fried pork needs!
YamaChen's Sushi
If you’re searching for authentic sushis and sashimis like me, I’m afraid this is not really the place for you but if you want something that’s close enough to your cravings, you still can never go wrong . They have lots of good food choices plus the service and the atmosphere.
Sonia and Quinn Approved! My favorite sushi place! Recently I wanted to go eat sushi but had homework to do, I went to Yama Chen which are always very accommodating. I had the dragon roll which is my absolute favorite and my daughter’s favorite is the Hawaiian roll. The server is amazing and very humble. I recommend completely! Free edamame! And complementary tiny cube of cheesecake. I have been to other Yama Chen. But this one in princess anne takes the cake!
China Hut
To begin with the restaurant was a little Dated and need some through cleaning. I ordered the tripe seafood dish. It was disappointing as the crab meat was imitation, scallops were soft almost saggy and no taste, shrimps was half done. There were these little pieces that looked like tiny shrimp that was to suppose be lobster meat had no taste. I took one mouthful and threw in the trash. It was disgusted !🤢 This place should be closed for falsely claiming to serve fresh seafood.
I always order their egg drop soup and dumplings when I’m sick. the soup cures every ailment and sickness I have and makes my day so much better. It is the best. The dumplings are always very good. I have ordered food besides soup and dumplings a few times as well, and never have been disappointed. Service is quick and genuine, food always hot and tasty.
Domo Sushi
I stopped in, having an appointment nearby. I was impressed with the atmosphere and gracious hosting. You will find the waitstaff self effacing, which can seem less attentive than American style. They choose to be unobtrusive. I was impressed at the generous portions. The sushi box I ordered could easily have fed me and my daughter, had she come. I took half home. The chef sent a volcano roll, free of charge. Beautifully presented selection of sushi, salad, crab Rangoon, edamame, etc. Crab Rangoon was hot, creamy, and delicious. I was surprised the edamame was cold. Personally, I prefer it hot. Salad was fresh, crisp. Rather too much dressing for me, but I use much less than average. The sushi rolls were good, standard fare. I was happy with my visit.
Its ok. Food is good, not different from others sushi places. It was empty, service is poor. Bottle of pespi, no cup, was a first! Misu soup not good We got a Volcano roll on the house though.
Panda Garden
Surprisingly good, not greasy and ingredients are fresh unlike most Chinese places where it’s always the typical oily brown sauce on everything; and meat and rice may be tasting a day old. I didn’t give the place 5 stars because the place needs a little upkeep for ambiance. I ordered kung pao chicken for carry out. The only reason why it’s not 5 stars is that there’s not enough spice as am used to…
The food tasted delicious, price had gone up since inflation hit hard but price per person is not bad.
The Imperial Palace
Haven't been to Imperial Palace in years and WOW! Online reservation served well with the Saturday crowd. The service was excellent and the food was good as I remember! Steamed Dumplings - OMG!! Crab Rangoon - OMG!! Pork Peking Style with Pancakes - OMG!! Bacon Wrapped Scallops - OMG!! Stuffed Shrimp - OMG!! LOL!! ER'THANG WAS SO GOOD! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 😋
I can't emphasize enough how wonderful our experience was at The Imperial Palace. The combination of superb service, an inviting atmosphere, and exceptional food makes it a must-visit for anyone who loves Chinese cuisine.
Rainbow Garden
This place has become horrible over the years. It use to be my favorite Chinese spot and I would travel over 40 minutes to eat here and bring friends from out of town here to share this great cuisine. I noticed about a year ago when I came it wasn’t as good but still better than most. Today I was in the area and decided to get sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken for my father that was visiting. The sesame was so chewy I was embarrassed I had given it to my dad and the sweet and sour was tasteless along with the chicken fried rice not even the duck sauce and soy (which I normally don’t use especially soy) couldn’t bring it around. $30 wasted I hope one day they can revamp the place I use to know.
I decided to have lunch here, instead of sushi. Running into Marshall's. It was as it should taste. Pepper steak, beef and broccoli and fried chicken. Took chop sticks to practice. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Noone is looking for conversation, just wait and eat. Good food.
Fu Hing Restaurant
So, the reviews seem mixed. Having ordered from them, I feel like they deserve an objective review. My biggest issue was that it took 50 minutes to get food delivered, restaurant was 4 min from my hotel, on a Tuesday night. It was irritating, but things happen. I did order 20min before delivery cutoff First item, egg drop wonton soup. This item was EXCELLENT, some of the best I've had from a strip mall Chinese place. Cooked perfectly, wontons were nice, and three of them in a pint of soup. Broth was delicious, thick and rich. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Egg Roll, basic, garden variety. Needed a few more minutes to cook. Not bad, not great. ⭐⭐⭐ Shrimp Lo Mein, it was good, nice taste, not too dry, not too saucy. Noodles weren't soggy, and veggies had a little crunch to them, even tho l had to microwave them to reheat. Could have used a few more shrimp, but even the shrimp were cooked right, not tough and overcooked. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ So, to review, the food was satisfying , filling, and good. I would order from them again, if I were local. More of a lunch place for me. I'd think it's the sort of place that if you're a regular and pickup your own food, it's probably a much better experience.
Order delivery and food came in a reasonable time and food smells delicious Hope food is good as it smell. Order pepper steak and chicken wings and fries A plus for chicken and fries pepper steak good as well
Peter Chang
I’m extremely picky with Chinese food as I’m Chinese from California! This is some of the best tasting and well made Chinese food I’ve had in the East Coast! The tofu skin dishes are amazing! Great flavor and great portions! Visiting friends and I told them how picky I am with Chinese food and they said I would not be disappointed and they were right! The hot sauce is made in house and I knew instantly when I tasted it. Super tasty! Service was great! Our server was very attentive and made sure we knew what we were ordering. I would highly recommend!
Stopped by for a lunch on a Friday afternoon with my friend. The service was quick and our server was very attentive. We were in and out in less than an hour. The flavors of the entrees we got were amazing. It’s reminiscent of the flavor profiles of a Chinese food we get in New York City china town. We had the Basil Eggplant in hot pot with chicken, Stir fried Flat Rice noodle with beef and the bubble pancakes.
Prince Noodle(四川小馆)
Absolutely delicious! 5 stars on everything! New Chinese restaurant in Va beach Brennaman farms by dollar bank. The service was great, this food is some of the best tasting Chinese we’ve had in awhile. Thank you so much we will definitely be back!
A great place if you want to try something that's not your typical Beef and Broccoli or Shrimp Lo Mein. This place serves a variety of spicy noodle dishes (you can ask for it to not be spicy) that come from Chongqing, China. A great place for a foodie, they offer many different selections. If you do like spicy, probably start at a level 2 and then next time you come back you can go higher if you want. I think 2 is already at that point where it has enough of a kick to make you sweat a little but still enjoy the meal. The spicy chili oil they create is excellent as it takes many ingredients and a bit of time to make. They also do a skewer offering of different meats, seafood, and vegetables. The staff are polite and professional. They are following current respiratory hygiene guidelines. Recommended. Update 11/26/2024: After a short renovation during the summer, looks like they are under new management and staff with a totally revamped menu. While they still have some American-Chinese dishes, this is still more for native Chinese dishes along with still being a foodie-level of things to try. They don't have the hot pot skewers though like the previous staff had. Still a good place to eat at, other than the selections being changed.
Jumbo Chinese Restaurant
Iconic American Chinese food spot in Kempsville. Been here since the Lincoln administration. Years and years ago, saw kids in the kitchen. Now they're not kids anymore. Great food, great prices, no better Chinese takeout for at least fifteen miles. The lunch specials come loaded with pork fried rice. I tend to have the pork egg foo young, but all the items are terrific. Closed on Mondays and that's the only negative aspect about this place, is that they close. You cannot go wrong with this fabulous neighborhood spot.
Ordered takeout for the first time tonight. I had high hopes based on other reviews. Ordered General Tso Chicken and Pork Fried Rice. Absolutely the best of both that I’ve had in years! The chicken was tender (not over-fried) and plenty of sauce. The fried rice had lots of veggies and pork. I will certainly be back!
