Very clean, friendly, Great food at a great price. Large variety of everything on buffet. Excellent food selection and quality. Easily accessible. Definitely a 5 star experience because of cleanliness & food.

This isn't my first visit, but first in a long time. Came here around 5pm and paid a little over $14 for the buffet. None of the food was all that fresh, and most of what I had seemed to have sat there long enough to get crunchy. The lo mein was fantastic, though. Service was great as well. Overall, eh? Come if you want to. There IS some good food here.

I had been wanting to try this place for so long and I’m so glad I did! I’m a picky eater and I would typically get my Hibachi dishes from Sakura. But I think I’ve found my new go-to spot!! I placed a to-go order and because she thought it would take 10-15 minutes, she gave me a free drink! These are very sweet people and the food was incredible! The portions are great too!! The food and customer service are of high quality!! Check it out when you get a chance!!

I think the reviews that are lower are based on the fact that most Asian fast food is thoroughly overcooked. This food was fresh and delicious! I picked my own bowl and my son had the shrimp udon noodles and chicken gyoza. I love all the vegetable options - vegetarians would love this place! The servers were exceptionally helpful, too. We will be back frequently.

This is a cute little place with fast service and low prices. The food isn’t bad or phenomenal. They also sell cute accessories at the counter so go check out their jewelry too.

The only Chinese restaurant I prefer to eat at in Roanoke. I like their yellow fried rice better than the typical fried rice found at other places soaked in soy sauce, grease, or cooked too long. Their food is always consistent and tastes fresher.

In my opinion best Chinese restuarant in Roanoke. Food made when ordered and the prices are good. Been looking for a good place to eat since Taipei went out of business years ago. I recommend China Star to anyone.

I got the half chicken. The order came with two sides and tortillas for a very reasonable price. It's enough food for two if you want to stretch it, or if you're feeling like a slob you can house it by yourself. They even brought it out to me in my truck!

Exceptionally bland. When I ordered, I got no time when to pick up, no price, and I wasn't asked for a name or anything for the order. My hunan beef was basically broccoli, carrots, cabbage, and some of the least flavorful beef I've ever tasted. See attached photo. There is absolutely no seasoning on the meat, let alone the vegetables. I cannot stress this enough: NO SEASONING AT ALL. Based on the other reviews I've read, they make it up as they go along. At least it wasn't expensive. So one star for being cheap, and one star for being hot, and one star for them doing whatever the heck they want. But zero stars for quality.

I ordered the Taitz Beef (beef with scallops). It was cooked perfectly, and was excellent with white rice.

We dined here on Christmas night 2023 for the first time, and were blown away by the quality and freshness of all items. Our party of four waited about 15 minutes to be seated on a VERY busy evening, and felt that wait was appropriate. Once seated, our waiter took our drink orders and we were free to visit the stations. Everything was hot and fresh with new items being added or refreshed regularly. Some standout items included the dumplings, chicken on skewers, tempura sweet potato, and all of the seafood dishes. We look forward to dining here again during our travels.

Prompt and attentive customer service. A delightful array of options, and despite our late arrival (8:45pm), everything remained nicely cooked and flavourful. The setup was appealing, and the facilities were very clean. After an exhaustive 8-hour hike, the buffet was a satisfying feast!

While realizing "Chinese Take Out" is "fast food," this place is trying too hard for the "fast food" moniker. This was my first experience with this store and I am a little disappointed. In case the owner reads this, my order was at 2:02PM on 2/7/2025. It was ordered through the app and the name was Robert M. As with all of my critiques, I do not want or expect any compensation—I simply want you to do better next time. First the order was incomplete. I ordered an Orange Chicken Bowl and there was no Orange Chicken in the bowl! Second, it really comes across like left-over Chinese food. The taste/texture is like it has been sitting and reheated. The store is lovely. The help was very cordial and polite. The parking lot is a little tight, but I realize you cannot change that.

Just visited this new location, and I must, say, was very disappointed in the small amount that I received. My suggestion to you check your order when you go thur the drive thu .I visited the one at Tanglewood Mall and never received such a small amount for 10.00

Over all this visit was very up pleasant! The beginning seemed promising as I was looking forward to spending a wonderful night with my husband as we celebrated our one year anniversary together. When we first walked in we're were greeted by a very nice gentleman, he was the only pleasant one of the night... Keep this in mind we'll I explain to you all that went wrong ... One. I ordered two specialty sushi's from the menu. It was a dragon roll and spider roll, my husband ordered the general sols chicken, and fried rice. We sat down after spending $61.97 on those items alone. We were brought our food out on a fast food tray, boxed to go. That's how it normally comes. I went to eat my sushi and it tasted fowl, the eel from the dragon roll was rubber, and the spider roll you could tell had been sitting for awhile. My husband's meal was fine. So I told the manager that it wasn't right, and it didn't taste right... She said oh, "sorry"... Hardly. So I asked to order something else which then I ordered the general sols chicken like my husband and the noodle. I was then brought the food along with a second check! YUPP YOU READ THAT RIGHT! A SECOND CHECK OF $32.00 AND they expect up to pay the full amount ... Even though I spent more on the first order. So in my photos I show you that we were given a 20% discount and was disturbed how they wouldn't just let me have my meal since it was cheaper and they should of gave us back the money in general.... So here you go, here are the photos of proof they charged us twice, and their restaurant solely survives on their takeout orders as it was deader than dead for a Saturday night. AGAIN THIS WAS VERY DISPLEASING, AND WRONG! NEVER COMING BACK, OR ORDERING TAKE OUT EVER AGAIN FROM HERE!

Won't go back. While their food is better than some Asian in town, not good enough to forgive spending 60 dollars for a tak dining experience. Rather shocked when pu pu platter came out in little bags, and dinner came out on a cheap plastic tray in take out containers. My husband had just gotten home after a week away, so not a great date night experience. Had been going off and on for many years, but this one will be off the list.

I come here to this location a lot. Had some mishap with my bank card and Momo offered to pay for it. Very sweet person. She could have easily let me leave with no food but she knew my panda craving was there. She definitely pulled through and was kind. Great employee!!

Went to visit on yesterday had us waiting over the time limit to take our order. The workers was sitting down eating the store food themselves instead of taking our order. They were cooking the food for themselves. They are all unprofessional. It was a lot of them working could have waited on us. When other customers came in like their own kind. That's when all of them had gotten up from eating the store food to serve and came from the back. Which it was very unsanitary. They all was eating from the kitchen pots taking it from the kitchen.They don't wash hands from the looks. If they don't have customers. They will sit to eat most of the time standing around talking. Not only that... They are very prejudice. They are not friendly or not too diversity. You don't take that many breaks. March 12,2025 @2:00pm

My take out order from the Great Wall at Towers, Roanoke was taken immediately by a smIling staff member and prepared quickly. The food was very hot and the Shrimp Lo Mein was tasty, with a fair amount of shrimp. The yellow fried rice was rather bland, and had very few vegetables. The egg roll was good and crunchy. The decor is plain and simple, with a few tables and do it yourself condiment area, along with a strange assortment of toothpaste and household goods for sale. The service was excellent and fast. The combo is a pretty good value for the money.

Ordered chow sam din, never said on menu meat was breaded and fried. No flavor or sauce. Seemed reheated, not freshly cooked.

I don't understand the negative reviews but this location has been my default one since they opened. No issues...food has always been hot and good. Establishment has been presentable. Employees were fine and not rude. I've done both take out and dine in. What I ordered: chow mein and black pepper steak

I don’t understand the negative reviews. The service is always great and friendly, the food is always fresh and the portions are generous. We’ve never had a bad experience and we’re here more often than I’d like to admit.
