Mandarin Court
This spot is doing Chinese and Japanese cuisine, and I tried to try a bit of both to see what it was all about. The owner was very friendly, and was the one making the sushi. The sushi was interesting, the California Roll was simple, basic, however the rice was definitely a bit more on the mushy side, over cooked for sure. The Spider Roll was very different that what I'm used to as it had a large Romaine Lettuce leaf incorporated into the roll. I always like to try new things, but not sure if it worked... The Chicken Corn Soup w/ the crispy Wontons and Sweet & Sour Sauce were exceptionally delicious. I also ordered Chicken in Garlic Sauce from the Lunch Special Menu, and requested it to be a bit spicier. Oh that was yummy, as I loved their house Chili Oil as well.
Incredibly delicious & amazing food! I highly recommend this family owned business! The owner & staff are super sweet & were happy to answer any questions about the menu. The choice of Chinese & Japanese cuisine is a great combination & pleases both my husband & I, he orders Chinese & I order sushi! The spicy salmon rolls are addicting & I could eat those forever! The sushi is fresh, beautifully made, & worth the price!
Feng's Garden
We stopped by here recently while traveling through town. Being vegetarians, we ordered the vegetable chow mei fun (thin rice noodles), the Szechuan-style bean curd, vegetable fried rice, and steamed white rice. The entrees were quickly made to order and came out piping hot. All were delicious! The vegetable chow mei fun was the right combination of salty and flavorful, while the Szechuan bean curd was best served over the rice. Note: the 5-star rating here is based solely on the quality of the food one might expect from a strip mall Chinese takeout restaurant. The decor of the restaurant itself is utilitarian and fairly typical. But if you're taking the food to go, as most will, then it's of no matter. :)
A decent place, good food, and service without so much delay. I definitely love how they do General Tso's chiken
Great Wall Chinese Restaurant
I visited Great Wall yesterday. One of the items i ordered to go was the Shrimp Toast. When I arrived at home i was surprised to find that the Shrimp Toast was burnt. This surprised me because most of my past visits were good. This, however, was not good. We didn't even bother to return it. I should have checked my 'To Go' items before I left.
I don't go here often. Bad choice tonight. My lomein noodles were super dry, no sauce on the sesame chicken or General Tso's. My chicken and broccoli was more like rice and broccoli. I barely had chicken and a bunch of rice and broccoli. Not to mention the egg rolls were not cooked all the way through. A little annoyed that I spent 35.00 and putting most of it in the trash. All of this pictured will go to waste.
China 1
My wife and I came in for lunch. She loves bourbon chicken and was excited to see it on the menu. As soon as we opened it she said what is this? I said it looks like sweet and sour chicken. So I asked the gentleman is this bourbon chicken? He said yes. We ate it because we were very hungry. Even after eating it we don't know what it was in fact we're not sure it was chicken. 🤢 Definitely won't be back!!
This place used to be the best place in Dumfries.. they changed owners 2-3 times in the past 2 years! Now it absolutely Disgusting!! I ordered bourbon chicken and it looked like CHITLINGS 🤢 🤮 brown meat.. definitely not chicken. So disgusted!! I immediately returned it. The lady at the counter was really nice and the owner wanted to know what was wrong with the food.. smh see the pics.. see for yourself!! I will never eat here again or encourage anyone to eat here. Bring the original owners back or shut it down lol
Montclair Chinese Cuisine
Avoid this place. Anything is better. Portions are large and kinda gross. Sauce has no taste. This hole in the wall deserves to close. Honestly bummed I blew $40 here.
The menu at Montclair Chinese Cuisine is extensive, offering a wide variety of dishes that cater to different tastes. Whether you're a fan of traditional Chinese favorites or seeking something more adventurous, this restaurant has something for everyone. The menu boasts a diverse selection of appetizers, soups, main courses, and delectable desserts. In conclusion, Montclair Chinese Cuisine in VA exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The combination of delicious cuisine, inviting ambiance, and top-notch service makes it a standout choice for anyone craving an authentic and enjoyable Chinese dining experience. I look forward to returning to explore more of their menu in the future.
