Panda Express
Very clean Panda Express! I was very happy to walk in as it felt like a vibrant and well run Panda Express! The team members were working diligently keeping the kitchen and front of house clean, while also looking like they all enjoyed each other's company! That really shows in the service as it's just a more positive atmosphere! I came in for the original orange chicken bowl, and nothing wrong with it. It's the classic orange chicken I've grown up knowing and LOVING!
It’s absolutely unacceptable. How long the line was in the restaurant this evening. Freddy was the manager on duty, and was sooo disrespectful to us. There was not a GM on site. The line was a complete mess. There was no FIFO, the lobby was dirty, no handwashing and very slow cashiers and line persons. Every time I asked for a leader? He claimed he was the GM and we know that’s a lie. There was so much food left on the counters because of a lack of communication to the line persons to keep up throughout and guest ticket times. The restaurant most certainly needs to be staffed better on a Friday night. It’s unacceptable and disappointing. We won’t be back
14th St Cafe Asian Bistro
Food was delish, but had been sitting too long because of delivery driver so the chicken dried out. Lo-mein SHMACKED
Order was correct ordered online. Appears to be a takeout only place at least when I went. Tables were set up to block entering beyond the doorway. Food was good. Ordered the fried squid - was good but no longer crispy with travel time. Dan Dan noodle was okay, not spicy. Beef broccoli was good. Food was good as leftovers the next day too.
Johnny's Carryout
It's an unassuming little restaurant. The set up is kinda grungy but in the best way. You can't dine in. When you walk in there's a window that only just barely opens enough for you to communicate your order and pay. They have all the best kinds of fast food you would ever want for an affordable price. Highly recommend. Yum.
The most unassuming place you’ll (hopefully) stumble into. My partner and I discovered this place to wet our appetite before dinner in Columbia Heights and we were so grateful to have given this place a chance!! It’s shabby looking on the inside..but their chicken wings with mambo sauce were great. We ate it fresh, in the one sad table inside the store but it was crispy, seasoned well (ask for mambo sauce on the side), and had so much value $$ (1 wing = drumstick +flats + wing tip). Would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone craving wings!
Beijing Station
The food is delicious and this is the most affordable place I've visited since 2020. Singapore rice noodles extra spicy (out choice to make it spicy) was perfectly spiced. Dumplings and cold noodle sweet& spicy was perfect amount, filled me up and I would get it again next time! Prices are very low, atmosphere is like cafeteria but the food is filling and very good. I would definitely recommend and if I was living on a budget here, I would eat here daily. I'll be back for certain next time I'm in town.
Staffs are very friendly. However, the Lumb noodles wasn't a good deal. I would try other meals if I had lunch here another time.
Yum's
I had heard great things about Yum’s wings and their mambo sauce, so during my visit to D.C., I decided to call and inquire if the sauce came with the wings. Unfortunately, my experience with their customer service was beyond disappointing. The person who answered the phone was incredibly rude from the start. When I tried to ask a simple question, she repeatedly interrupted me, saying, "We don’t do deliver, just come in." I wasn’t even asking about delivery—I was just trying to confirm details about their menu. I had to call back four times because she kept hanging up on me, each time becoming ruder and more dismissive. By the fourth call, I decided enough was enough. If this is how they treat potential customers, I can only imagine what the in-person experience would be like. After reading reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who has experienced this unprofessional behavior. For a place that’s supposed to be a D.C. staple, their customer service is abysmal. Save yourself the frustration and avoid Yum’s. There are plenty of other spots in D.C. where you can enjoy great food without being disrespected. I’ll be spending my money elsewhere!
I am not sure why they thought it was okay to send some burnt crab sticks the dam fries was not fresh either their grease is dirty I threw the whole thing in the trash
Da Hong Pao Restaurant and Bar
Food was awesome, it was all good. Ordered a lot and our favorite is the Peking duck. Service was super fast, I thought Barry Allen worked there. Place is really easy to get to and ambiance, is … just like any other restaurants BUT we didn’t go there for the ambiance.
Nice and cozy. Very friendly, professional and courteous staffs, way better than all the other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. I would definitely come back if I need comfort foods. Honestly I don’t enjoy the Hot&Sour soup, it is thicker than expected. But all the others are great! But Chicken feet is amazing! Porridge is very generous and delicious as well.
Shanghai dumpling
We came for the dumplings and stayed for the homestyle dishes. Twice-cooked pork: yes. Dry hot pot: oh yes. Good portions, super nice folks behind the counter. Heads up: if you want rice, you need to ask for it. Welcome to the neighborhood, Shanghai Dumpling!!
I wish j could rate this better but the noodles were so soft almost a mush (1/5 stars) with no flavor or and the dumplings very average (3/5 star) with minimal flavor. It’s a typical flourescant take out place with indoor protective windows and the waiting space where you order was absolutely freezing, which could be fine if the food made up for it but meh overall
