⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve had lunch at Szechuan Star a few times and have also ordered takeout many times, and I have nothing but great things to say about this place. The food and service have always been top-notch, never disappointing. It’s a small restaurant, but it’s clean and cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and always goes above and beyond, paying attention to every detail to ensure customers are happy. The food is consistently delicious, and the prices are unbeatable, especially with their lunch specials. For anyone local, this spot is a must-try if you’re craving flavorful Chinese food with excellent service!

Great local spot that we happened to stop by at. We were the only ones inside and were treated amazingly. We were started with roasted salted peanuts and tea and then we both did the dinner special which was an absolute steal at around $15. We had the wonton soup and egg drop soup followed by the orange chicken and chicken lo mein, which both came with either a choice of an egg roll or veggie spring roll. They were very kind and also brought us both a small donut and orange slice at the end too. Overall a great big delicious meal for a great price!

We went back here for the second time and dry pot. It’s basically choose your own ingredients and then pay by weight. They have a huge selection of things to add and everything looked super fresh. I got mine the spiciest level and it was pretty spicy but not unbearable at all for me, a spice queen. My SO got medium spicy which I would say is like “American spicy.” Definitely check this place out to try dry pot also called 麻辣香锅 if you wanna google what it is.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The place was spotless and maintained impeccable hygiene, which immediately gave me a great impression. The food was incredibly authentic, bursting with flavor, and truly lived up to its reputation. On top of that, the staff provided excellent service—they were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to visit again!

UPDATE- 1/29/25- I went again last night and still reminds me of my childhood in the 80s hands down the best Chinese food around ! Peter and his family are awesome hosts as always! The original and the best Peking Duck since 1978! Dont listen to the copycats at PG! I used to come here in the '80s with my family and we recently came back and it was like nothing had changed the food was spectacular as always! Peter was great and still provides the same family recipes from his father "Duck". I love the fact that I can take my kids to where I used to enjoy the best Chinese food when I was their age and get to see them enjoy it as well!

Family run business here, I always drive by this place since I was a kid but it was first time entering it in 20+ years of living in the area. Went for my brother's birthday and family Lunar New Year celebration and enjoyed the experience. Small space but doesn't feel cramp or overcrowded, the service is nice and the workers are extremely friendly and helpful, also funny. Food was great, ordered Peking duck, lo mein, chicken, beef and broccoli, just multiple options for the family. Honestly can't go wrong, think the soup might just be bland, but I prefer savory items. Will definitely come visit again in the future, disappointed I haven't been here before!

One of my favorite taiwanese restaurant up to date. The braised pork bowl cost about $6 and their side dishes are amazingggg! The pork ears, the specialty noodles… chef kiss! The cucumber side dish is crispy, spicy, a bit sweet and cold.. PERFECT! We got two because it was so good. The beef noodles that we got was so good. The beef was so soft and melt in your mouth. Noodles are chewy and soup are a bit spicy! The crispy pork was also delicious. Everything was so good I don’t even know how to describe it anymore. Staff are friendly but a bit harder to ask for things as you have to repeat it a few times. Restaurant is small enough that it’s giving family restaurant vibes. Not a lot of tables available so just a heads up that it might be busy during lunch time or dinner time!

I have been coming here on a monthly basis for over 5 years now; have tried tons of new and upcoming Chinese restaurant and nothing compares to them. It’s a sublime experience with friend but direct servers, high quality ingredients and modest price. At this point I would have tired probably everything in the menu and they are all quality authentic food. This restaurant take pride in their heritage, please be respectful when visit. My dad's been ordering food from Peking Cafe for our family for more than a decade and we've never been disappointed, not even once. Good, clean food at a great price, especially considering the pandemic. The taste changed a bit over the years, but we've always been satisfied.

The food and services are very good 👍 👌 😋.

We enjoyed the coconut chicken hotpot and the fried rice. It’s around $35 per person for 4 people to share the two dishes. The waitress was really helpful to help us set up and cook the coconut chicken. Credit card transaction will require additional % of costs in the final bill. Overall, we will come back again for the coconut chicken.

The flavor is ok BUT you eat with little flying insects all in front of you and dirty smelly placemats...it feels like the back kitchen must be dirty...🥲🥲

I am in the habit of reviewing everything, and as a reviewer, I make it a point to read reviews for restaurants before I order anything. The reviews I saw were pretty good, with the exception of two. I ordered the sesame chicken with fried rice and the fried wings with fried rice and sweet and sour soup. The food was well seasoned, hot, and better than I expected. However, the fried wings were not what I'm used to...they could learn something from the carryout restaurants in Washington DC where the wings are fried well and are absolutely delicious. The spring roll was one of the best I've had in a while. I will definitely patronize this place in the near future. Just work on those wings...go to DC as a secret shopper and try the wings at virtually every carryout to get an idea of how it's done. The wings caused the loss of one star.

Staff is very rude, They also keep all their packets of soy and duck sauce behind the counter i always order over 30$ of food & you only get one packet of each anything more they charge you for, They have a sign on the door that says they take American express so that was the only card i brought one day, The lady spent 5 mins asking if i had a different card & how the machine dosent take American Express I then told her to cancel my order cause I have no other payment she went and swipe the card and it worked just fine. This place is just full of nonstop BS and like I said they are all very rude and cheap.

Food is very good, owner is quick and efficient, good atmosphere. Overall would recommend if you need a quick dinner that’s cheap and flavorful.

Been coming here for years! The combination fried rice and sesame chicken always hit the spot. Some people are just a little dramatic in their reviews. If you want a solid place to take out, definitely recommend. Not so much for dine in since the space is reduced and the atmosphere isn’t all there
