Hunan Express
Oh man this place is 0/10 super disgusting I really went with an open mind, didn’t even look at the reviews. When I go do reviews I look at the menu and go and do my own review without anyone’s influence. Ordered by phone: Honey Walnut Shrimp - which the dough was not cooked all the way. It was super thick and super greasy not cooked all the way. It was missing the sauce as you can see from this picture. Beef lo men - had barely any beef a lot of vegetables and the been was chewy - which tells me it’s old meat. I took a few bites of each plate and threw them away - there goes $26.00 I’ll never get back. It’s unfortunate I like supporting local restaurants but they also have to do their part. This place was a busy first & last time.
It was great for the most part I ordered, I'll probably order again giving the benefit of the doubt. I ordered orange chicken, egg rolls and upgraded my white rice to fried rice. Pros: Order was made nice and quick. Quick pickup exchange. The egg rolls were nice, crispy, flavorful, and fresh. (Definitely one of my favorites now) The orange chicken flavor was amazing, as well as it was fresh. Cons: The orange chicken was not crispy, like, at ALL: Probably didn't fry the chicken long enough before they mixed the sauce in with it, I don't know. the fried rice I paid extra for was stale, mostly hard, and VERY nasty/off-tasting so I had to throw that ALL away after 3 bites of it and waste the extra $2 I paid for it, sadly disappointing.
Thai Issan
Came by to have lunch and was greeted by a very friendly young lady and told I can sit anywhere I wanted. Before she left she asked what I wanted to drink and gave me a menu. The menu has many choices and I decided on Pad King she asked how spicy I wanted it and we had a discussion on American spicy it Thai spicy. I choose 6 Thai spicy. The food came out fairly quickly and I got white rice with my meal. I think the spice was just more red pepper flakes and not a real Thai spice for heat. But the dish was decent and I got a portion size that was about right for lunch. There were no leftovers which is unusual for me because I normally can’t eat the entire meal. I think the place although hidden in a corner or a small shopping center had good food and was extremely clean the staff was outstanding.
I have been coming here for years however hadn’t come for a bit. I ordered the same as always a green papaya salad. We did take out. When we got home I noticed it to be about a 1/4 of the size it used to be. 1/2 of it was a few pieces of iceberg lettuce totaling 1/2 a cup at most. The green papaya salad was probably less than a 1 cup of papaya. They charged $14.06. I called and asked when they changed their sizes of which she told me they are new owners in the past year. They are running the business in greed. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON NOTHING. I returned the food for a refund. If you need shredded papaya to make your own easy it is only $2.99 lb. Or $1.99 a lb at Rancho Market. So the mark up is way beyond greed. And that is on the high side. After reading other reviews it seems like they have become stingy not caring about their customers. Never again The container in the picture is a small container maybe 8”x6”.
