Completely blew my socks off, one of my new favorite restaurants!!The food was amazing. We found this place because it smelled so good walking past it from the street, and it tasted just as good as it smelled! The staff were incredibly courteous, professional, and helpful. Our waitress (Trisha) was so amazing, she even helped to pack up our left overs. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was my favorite dish. It had candied walnuts, a perfect creamy & sweet sauce, and perfectly cooked shrimp. The Garlic Chicken was so flavorful. I love the water chestnut, it is one of my favorite ingredients and it paired amazing with the wood ear mushrooms. The General Tso’s Chicken was not spicy as expected, but amazing breading on the chicken and the peppers were very flavorful. The Grass Fed Wagyu Pho was good and wholesome ingredients. If you’re a pho-lover, this is for you. We also got some Thai Teas and they were spot on! Well-steeped tea base and a light milk/creamer, very refreshing. I adored my visit and will definitely be coming back.

Did you wake up this morning, begin your yoga routine, and right in the middle of your warrior one pose think to yourself, "gosh darn my day would be complete if I had some super delicioso Vietnamese for lunch"? Well, I sure did, and the garlic chicken did not disappoint. Sauce think and smooth. Flavor dancing across those taste buds. Water chestnuts properly cooked. Like seriously, this stopped me in my tracks as the mouth feel of the perfectly soft crunch complemented the juicy chicken. Whoa buddy, let me pause and catch my breath. Now that I've had a moment to compose myself, let's switch gears and talk about the portion size, perfect. No over compensating dollar for dollar value with size. No, sir. The exact amount of food to fill the lunch needs of my belly. Flavor reins supreme. And to satisfy all of my senses, twirling the straw in my Thai ice tea sent me to a moment of Zen. Watching the swirls of flavors mix is pure present moment joy. Now I sit depressed in my corporate cubicle wishing for another lunch time soon where I can stop by Somi.

I’ve seen several reviews that the service is horrible, well they are wrong! The service is great! The waitress/hostess had a several minute conversation with two young children and was very engaging with them as they told her all about their day, school and likes in Disney! Anyways, more to the food…. Delicious! We ordered the kung poa chicken, bbq pork (app), chicken chow mein, general tso, and the bbq pork fried rice.. it was just me and the husband but we had to keep trying things because it was so good! Winners were the generals and bbq pork fried rice! No refills on soda tho. We will definitely be back to try other menu items. The atmosphere is wonderful! Not that big of a place, maybe 10 tables. Super clean! Didn’t even see dust on the bottom of the table

Salt Lake is lucky to have a Chinese restaurant of the quality of Hong King Tea House. We've gone there for years on our yearly trips to do research at the Family History library. The dim sum is the big draw. People who don't appreciate how good the food is will sometimes kvetch about the neighborhood, which has a larger share of homeless folks than most other parts of the city. Several groups working with the homeless offer free meals and other assistance to those in need on the same street as the restaurant, and this is why you may see a homeless person occasionally if you go to Hong Kong Tea House. We have never once felt unsafe even when we walk from our timeshare near Temple Square to the restaurant. It's worth the long walk. Sticky rice steamed in lotus leaves, turnip cakes, shrimp and chives dumplings, scallop dumplings with garlic flavor, har gow and shiu mai, snow pea leaves dumplings, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, eggplant and bell pepper stuffed with shrimp paste, stuffed bean curd: Hong Kong Tea House has it all, and it's all delicious. If you like dipping sauce, be sure to ask for soy sauce and chili oil before your order comes to the table. This is not a place where dim sum carts come around. You order by the plate and your dish is made to order. That means that it can take some time for the food to arrive, and on busy days, service can appear nonchalant and slow. It's worth the wait, and if you watch the wait staff, most of whom look related to each other, so this appears to be a family business, they work very hard to take orders, seat people, take people's payment, and bring food to tables. If you appreciate excellent dim sum of the quality you can usually find only in places like San Francisco, I highly recommend Hong Kong Tea House. You won't be disappointed.

Really kind staff, fast, delicious. Love the Mongolian Grill (Make Your Own) where you choose your own ingredients (type of noodles or rices, type of vegetables, sauces, proteins) and the chef made items are great too ie. the schezuan dumplings/pot stickers. The Boba is good too, even better than some Boba specific spots I've been to which is a nice surprise!

Whenever we visit any major USA city, we mandatorily visit their China Town be it New York, LA, Vegas, SFO, Seattle, Portland or Salt Lake City. We selected this option after going through online review and this was highest rated. Have to say, we weren’t disappointed. The food was extremely delicious especially the Firecracker Shrimp Noddles. We also ordered the Imperial Chicken, Schezhuan Dumplings and Cream Cheese Wonton, and all of them were delicious and reasonably priced. This place is a must try and highly recommended to lovers of this cuisine. The ambience however was not very much upto the mark and the restroom didn’t seem clean and that’s where it’s a 4 star instead of 5. But if we come to Salt Lake City ever again, we will definitely revisit this place.

The restaurant has a new owner, and the food has become better and fresher. They also have new meal containers. This Chinese restaurant not only serves Chinese food but has also added Hawaiian cuisine. I lived in Hawaii for five years, and their food is amazing. I highly recommend the beef back ribs, teriyaki chicken, beef broccoli, and katsu chicken.

Had to take my 34 hr reset at the Loves across the street so i figured id come and get some food here. I was very much glad i did. Got the coconut shrimp and veggies one day. Then i came back and got and got the beef ribs. Man they were juicy!

Ordered; Won won trio, pork egg fu young, sweat & sour chicken. Everything was delicious and flavorful great portion sizes and great prices, the food tasted very fresh! The service was awesome the booths are super comfortable. Definitely a new favorite!

Have gotten this food multiple times over the last year or so. Generally I think the food was pretty good... But just got it door dashed recently and was really disappointed. The cheese won tons were ok, kinda low on filling and seemed to have some neon orange coloring on top of them. The fried rice as a side had a few pieces of egg sparsely hidden within and nothing else. Portions are excellent, hoping this was just an off night for them and not that it's going downhill.

Very delicious menu dishes. I recommend trying all the Currys, fried egg rolls, the lemongrass dish! The sesame chicken was really good as well, but the curry dishes are amazing. Haven't had a chance to try the noodle soup there yet. Definitely worth giving this place a try.

Shanghai Cafe has an excellent staff. They are friendly and willing to take the time to explain their dishes to you. Our party ordered the Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken combination plate (with ham fried rice and a Vietnamese egg roll), egg drop soup, along with cream cheese wontons and the tempura vegetable platter. Our food was served to us quickly and every item was hot and delicious. The portions are large. Plan on taking a lot of food home, which makes this restaurant very well worth the money! Our waiter was quick to take away dishes that were no longer needed and to refill our water. He was attentive and made us feel appreciated. I’ve been coming here for years and it seems that the food just keeps getting better. Shanghai Cafe is one of my favorite places to go to in the city. I highly recommend.

We’ve been looking for Filipino spot for a while and I’m glad we found Kubo Express! The food was tasty and authentic. We loved the garlic rice and the pancit. We also got the halo halo! Such a great treat on a hot summer day. They also had the corned beef we’ve been looking for! Great trip down memory lane visiting Kubo today. Well worth the wait. The service was also wonderful. The kid who helped me at the checkout was extremely polite and helpful. He offered to carry my food and all the extra stuff I got to my car. So sweet!

The owner greets you personally & is SO friendly!!! We decided to try the Teriyaki chicken w/ Udon noodles & yummy veggies. The chicken was so awesome! We also had an order of Spring rolls. They were SOOO GOOD!!!! We also bought a fresh side salad also. Big portions AND the owner came to check & see how we liked it so far & brought us a bowl of homemade potato chips. They were also awesome!!! We will be going back often!! So much more to try!!!!!

A real gem in West Valley. A fusion of Chinese food with a Venezuelan flare which enhances the flavours. The food is great and with great portions. The fried rice is a must try, the specialty of the house. The 8 flavours (ocho sabores) is also fantastic. Jimmy, the owner, was extremely kind and his service was outstanding as well as our server Diana. The quality of the food is not reflected on the prices, this is actually cheap for its quality, trust me. Plenty of parking around and easy to find. Totally recommended if you want a great culinary experience.

Not bad. The fried rice was very good, the best I've had so far in SL. The meat was good and the portions are generous. The ribs weren't tender enough and lacked a bit of sweetness.

This is a really upscale smaller authentic Chinese restaurant. We enjoyed all the dishes but were a little disappointed we had to pay extra for rice, and that the $18 beef dish was mostly onions. Besides that, happy with service who continually refilled our water and everything was fast. The inside feels very modern Chinese and I enjoyed the cleanliness of the restrooms and restaurant. I recommend the fried buns with pork, but I wish they served it with something besides raw onions, perhaps some freshly spiraled cucumbers? Or maybe make it an option to have grilled onions with it. The chow fun was a very generous and a delicious size with plenty of meat, which the Mongolian beef wasn’t, it should have been called Mongolian onions with a sprinkle of beef pieces. The mapotofu is made with a numbing spice which we weren’t used to, it wasn’t overwhelming but I’d stay away if you don’t like numbing spices. The restaurant makes everyone feel very Chinese when the existing place settings don’t have forks. I’d suggest having bowls and spoons and forks for everyone, especially if they’re eating family style. The just plates was too American for me but the chopsticks was a redeeming factor. I’m leaving four stars because there wasn’t enough meat and we had to pay for rice.

General tacos chicken was great, tangy and sweet and crisp. The chicken with green beans was good. Wanted more spice to it. I was going to ask for something spicy to add to it. But they never came back to check on us after we received our food. The scallion pancake is delicious. Crisp and soft and savory with green onion. This was my favorite thing. Rice was $1 on the side. Dishes do not come with rice. Price is descent. Place was clean and nice. Service was nice but they didn't check on us very much. There were only 4 tables in the whole restaurant for lunch. But I want to go back and try more.

An excellent experience. We came in on Monday evening for dinner and we were seated just after a large party. The server came by and made sure to get our order in before the large party so we didn't need to wait for our food. An excellent touch by that server! We had the Cream Cheese Wontons and Pot Stickers as an appetizer. Both were excellent! Our main dishes did not disappoint. The Pad Thai was great. We appreciated that they didn't load it with bean sprouts. Plenty of noodles and chicken. The yellow curry was unique, with bamboo and bell peppers added, but was very good. I like that they delivered the rice in a covered metal pot, which kept it hot and moist for the duration of the meal. We will be returning to try other dishes in the future!

This has become one of our favorite places to eat. The food is fresh and very flavorful. And each time we have eaten there, Angie had been our server. She has a warm and friendly presence when we first walk in. She is very attentive in her job and does an excellent job as a server. I appreciate how patient she is since some members of our party had ridiculous making a decision on what to eat. Angie always has a smile, and you can tell she enjoys her job.

Red Lotus Bistro is better than ever under new management with Victor at the helm. The food has never tasted so good, and the service is top-notch—fast, friendly, and welcoming. I tried the Pon Pon Chicken, a perfectly breaded chicken glazed with a sweet and spicy Chinese BBQ plum sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor! If you’re in #SaltLakeCity, Red Lotus Bistro is a must-visit for incredible Chinese & Vietnamese cuisine. Highly recommend!

The food here was just okay. I got the garlic wings, yakisoba, and pon pon chicken. The garlic wings were fried, and a bunch of pressed garlic is pressed over them after the fact. They weren't very inventive with them. The yakisoba was nothing to write home about. It was salty, and the sauce had no depth. The pon pon chicken was good, a mix of sweet and savory. The crunchiness was just the right texture. I also had fresh squeezed lemonade that was actually pretty good. Overall, though, this wasn't very impressive.

I have been a customer for a few years and the restaurant has been updated a couple of times. I can’t remember last time I visited before last week but the place has been renovated. Food was good and service was great. The prices are appropriate to their quality and location. Ambience is really good. The upgrades make the visit a more pleasant experience… so definitely an improvement. Server was very good and thank you for the constant visits to the table to offer water refills and to check if we needed anything. I will be coming back.

This was our initial visit to this establishment, as our usual Pho restaurant was temporarily closed. Intrigued by the positive reviews, we decided to try this restaurant. While I had high hopes for enjoying the food and ambiance, I was ultimately disappointed. The dishes tasted bland and overly greasy, lacking in flavor. Despite ordering two Pho bowls, we were only given a single small plate of toppings. Additionally, while the service started off decently, we did not receive a water refill until we requested the check. Regrettably, we do not plan on returning to this establishment.
