Asian Star
We tried two lunch platters. The vegetables in the chicken and snow peas were crisp and tasted very fresh. The egg rolls were also delicious and tasted like they had been made in house. This restaurant is in a nice building with huge windows. Service was friendly and efficient.
Food allergy warning (peanuts), horrible quality, and overpriced. Don't eat here. We used to do takeout from here and it was delicious, but ordered delivery today and without saying a thing, they switched out the cashews for peanuts in the cashew stir-fry. My wife is allergic, so not only a sketchy corner cut, but a health threat. Unexpected peanuts are unacceptable and even without that, the quality has clearly plummeted while the prices skyrocketed.
Teriyaki Grill - Fort Union
Simple but good, tasty food. Beef was very good but chicken was a bit dry. Veggies are ok but the noodles was very plain. Good thing they serve it with Teriyaki to add flavor to the items. For a small bowl of serving though, it was a bit pricy where you could get a large portion or bigger bowl of serving of the same price somewhere else. Staff was nice and the place is clean and well maintained.
The food was just not very good. I usually love teriyaki and it had been a while since I had been to this place. My kid liked it and ended up eating mine. Compared to the many options for this type of food, I would not recommend this place. The redeeming quality is that my kid could eat there with extreme nut allergies.
Tsunami Restaurant & Sushi Bar - Union Heights
Update We just had an even better experience. Ryan and Hannah are the best! I was about to tell Hannah about my daughter's allergies when she asked us. She was extremely concerned. Ryan the manager comes out with our food. He said it took a bit longer to make sure there was no cross contamination and they were extremely careful after they heard that another Tsunami didn't care and weren't careful about the allergies and we ended up in the hospital. Hands down the best Tsunami, with the most caring and concerned people working there! We already had heard they were the most allergy friendly and we have no doubts about it. Thank you so much Ryan and Hannah!!! This is my brother-in-law's and my sister's favorite place for sushi. I never went since I hated the name. My brother-in-law said this sushi is better than what he can get in California which says a lot. He said he wanted sushi so we went. We were highly disappointed they didn't the spider roll. We both wanted it. Now a bit of negative, I didn't love the vegetable tempura. I've had better. The cucumber salad needed to be in the seasoning for a bit longer to get the taste on the cucumber. I'm a cucumber lover and I grew up eating my Japanese neighbor's cucumber salad. I was very impressed that all the fish is wild so my daughter can have it and that sold me on this place for sure! The server (Blythe) was so kind, patient and amazing with all of us. She was excellent! The food was great too. As my husband puts it, it will be in our rotation of places to go.
Our first time at Tsunami was fabulous! Our server Dani was amazing, and the food and beverage were great! I'm not one to go out and get raw sushi but the Tiger roll was a great fried option. Dani made a killer espresso martini for only their third day which shows that the staff is on top of it. We are already planning our next date to Tsunami.
