One Bite Dumpling
We are thrilled to have a dumpling place in South Austin! We came for the soft opening and enjoyed each dish we ordered. Very kind and courteous staff. A great addition to the South Austin food scene!
What a great new spot!! So very good... A wonderful addition to the growing Asian variety in South Austin. Went for lunch and was surprised how filled the place was for the 1st week of opening. Guess the word spread fast! They have completely renovated the old Hao Hao restaurant. So bright and welcoming. They have a display window of the chef making dumplingsđ„... Like they do over in Hong Kong. Our server was very friendly and was willing to find out answers for questions that she didn't know. They're not the fastest but that's okay. Dumplings are meant to be enjoyed and savored. The menu is impressive. I want to try everything and in time... I will! For our first trip, we had the the Wontons in Chili Oil.... Delicious, the Shu Mai.. Yummy... This was no Sysco Dim Sum, the Baby Bok Choy... Cooked to perfection and last but definitely not least, the Black Pepper Beef Udon was what took our lunch over the Top! Beef tender, noodles chewy in every way that is good and the black pepper just the right amount of spice. Welcome One Bite Dumpling... I look forward to many future meals here!!
Din Ho Chinese BBQ
Ordered delivery through Uber Eats from Din Ho Chinese BBQ, I got the Soy Sauce Chicken and Egg Fried Rice, and both were fantastic. The Soy Sauce Chicken was incredibly flavorfulâtender, juicy, and soaked in that rich, savory soy glaze that makes you want to lick the container. You could tell it was freshly made, not overly salty like some places. The Egg Fried Rice was the perfect matchâlight, fluffy, with just the right amount of egg and seasoning. It tasted like it came straight off a wok. Delivery was smooth, food arrived hot, and portions were generous. Din Ho never misses. Highly recommend when youâre craving some solid Chinese food at home!
This place is a solid find! The space is spacious, clean, and has a cool vibe with fresh seafood tanks in the backâdefinitely adds a touch of authenticity. Itâs set up family-style with those big round banquet tables, perfect for groups or a lively dinner with friends. Came here for Chinese New Year dinner. Service was on pointâsuper fast, both with taking our order and getting the food out. And letâs talk portions: they donât skimp! Everythingâs served in generous sizes, so youâll definitely leave satisfied. Presentation-wise, the dishes are a feast for the eyes. Taste-wise, it was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The roasted duck and pork belly were decent but didnât quite hit the mark flavor-wiseâmaybe needed a bit more seasoning. That said, the eggplant clay pot was *chefâs kiss*âabsolutely delicious. The chow fun was solid, and the fried fish? Oh man, that was a standoutâcrispy, flavorful, and totally dee-licious! Overall, this is a pretty great spot for Chinese food in Austin. Not everything wowed me, but thereâs enough here to make it worth a visit, especially if youâre craving some hearty, shareable dishes. đ„ąđ«đđ§§
P.F. Chang's
We came for lunch and it did NOT disappoint. Consistently delicious. The lunch special was a nice suprise and MICHELLE took excellent care of us. We'll be back for our Sundays out for sure!
Michelle was our server today and let me tell you she was spectacular. We had questions about the menu due to dietary restrictions and she was very quick with her responses and recommendations. She never let us have empty glasses and our experience was far beyond what we could have expected. Michelle has convinced us to come back for the great food and to have her as our amazing server once again!
Rice Bowl Cafe
The beef rolls were incredibleâworth coming back just for them! Service was quick and friendly. The salt and pepper tofu was crisp but leaned more on the salty side. Overall, a solid experience with fast service and tasty food.
Oh my god. COME TO THIS RESTAURANT. Every dish was soooo flavorful, you have no idea. The pig ear is the best Iâve ever had. The pork feet rice has a more subtle taste, but so rich and satisfying. Then thereâs the salt and pepper triple, which is perfectly fried and so tasty.
First Chinese BBQ
A sign on the wall near the front door proclaimed that this is one of the top 50 Chinese restaurants in the United States. Iâm a bit skeptical of this, having spent a lot of time in the bay area in California, where every Chinese restaurant is extremely good. But for Austin, this is certainly a very good restaurant. The seating area is nothing special, itâs a pure laid functional, but thatâs fine, you donât go here for a five star experience, you go here for great food. Given this, I would definitely give this place a thumbs up and try it.
I was here for the BBQ and was told no BBQ today.... Force to order something else on the menu, and not impressed. The veggie dish cooked in hot water, then stir fry it. Other dishes are just average at best.
Tian Tian Golden Palace Seafood & Dim Sum Austin
This used to be the Fortune Restaurant, which has relocated to 620. Atmosphere - interior was redone. Tables and chairs too - they somehow project a classier interior, albeit somewhat bulky. Place was very well lit. Service - was prompt. Sufficient staff were around to take your orders, top off drinks, deliver food, and attend to diners' needs. Orders are taken through tablets that each staff carries on a sling. Food - their lunch specials were $2-3 more expensive than typical ones - but servings were huge - good for 1.5 - 2 persons. Dimsum can be ordered weekdays and the kitchen would prepare them for you. On weekends, they'd be on push carts going around the dining area. Dimsum prices range from $5 to $10 a serving. If ordering tea, the table would be charged $2 per person seated, regardless if the others won't be partaking. There is also a new addition - aquariums hosting libr seafood, assuring fresh supply for your dish, should you be ordering lobsters, crabs, ells, etc.
Tried ordering some dishes off the main menu but the items we wanted were unavailable. Was not able to try many of the dim sum but was able to get the staples as the carts had those on rotation. Har Gow- succulent shrimp, perfectly steamed Siu Mai - bouncy, savory pork and shrimp Chicken Feet- tender but overly sweet, not my personal preference Chinese Broccoli- crisp vegetables with a light soy/oyster sauce, which I prefer over the thick sweet oyster sauce Pork Ribs- chewy in a good way, loved the meat to cartilage ratio Prices are a bit high for dim sum. Most are medium and large dishes priced at $6 and $7. The dishes we had were high quality. Interested in trying more, attributing the lack of variety to soft opening. Depending on when you dine, cart offerings will vary. We had to wait a bit to get the dim sum we wanted, looked like the dishes were cooked in large batches so food came in waves.
Tso Chinese Takeout & Delivery
Itâs fine. Just fine. Literally what Iâd expect if I ordered Chinese in an airport or grocery chain fast food-type place. Nothing super objectionable, but nothing stood out. Our âmildâ ordered dish tasted EXACTLY the same as our âspicyâ dish, both of which Iâd judge as âmild.â Food was not particularly warm, temperature wise, but not cold, when I got it home ten minutes later. Just okay. We ate it and none of the three of us fully hated it. Just didnât love it. Would eat in a pinch but wouldnât choose.
If you are looking for a place that brings consistent meals, this is it! I wonât say they have the most exciting menu, but we always know what weâre going to get and itâs going to be good! The rangoons and potstickers are a must! My go-to is the large wonton soup which will usually last me two servings, while wifey loves the honey walnut shrimp, though they avoid the bowl as it comes with less shrimp. I just had the chicken lettuce wraps for the first time and they were delicious. The lettuce was fresh, but it did get a little wilty from the extra sauce at the bottom of the plate. I will still order them again. This place is a staple for our family!
Seven Spice
I've been visiting Seven Spice in Austin for years now, and it consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience. I recently celebrated Lunar New Year with my friends there, and once again, we were blown away by the delicious food and warm hospitality. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and everything was perfectly seasoned and presented. The flavors were bold and vibrant, and the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. The owners are incredibly welcoming and passionate about their food, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. This was my third visit to Seven Spice, and it hasn't disappointed once. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is impeccable. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a delicious meal, I highly recommend Seven Spice. It's a true gem in Austin's culinary scene.
My favorite go-to place for delicious authentic Chinese food! The portions are very generous, the food is always served fresh and hot, and the waitresses are both really friendly and accommodating.
Shu Shu's Asian Cuisine
I tried this place first time today with a very high expectation, but I was very disappointed with the food.âčïž The clerk was very polite and friendly. He is great. I had a hot & sour soup, itâs also great, I like it. But, the dragon noodle wasâŠânot goodâ. I really donât like the taste and flavor if it has any.đ I was so confused because the combination of veggies and meat should be ok, but why it tasted so bad? My answer is the sauce. This dish could be super good if they just use regular soy sauce and red chili. The sauce should bonds the flavors of the ingredients together, but sadly it does not. Super flavorless, only tomato sour, hot and spicy on your tongue. And they put in the noodle at the very end of cooking, making it even more flavorless. They should put the noodle into the wok and pan fried it with the veggies and meat for a while before adding any sauce or soy sauce, so the noodle has time to absorb the flavor of ingredients and wok. This should be one of the basic rules of making Asian dishes. đ Anyway, I donât recommend the dragon noodle. I might try something else next time.
Hungry for straight up Chinese and this place was recommended by a local retailer. Good lunch special selection. Hot and sour soup was delish. Large portion of Mongolian beef with mediocre fried rice. Good egg roll. Spoon had dried/caked on food on it, YUK Will explore other places in the area next time.
House of Three Gorges (äžćłĄäșș柶)
Such delicious food. Hereâs what you MUST order: jumping fish + cumin beef. Honorable mentions are the salt and pepper pork, wonton soup, and egg plant. Oh and the fried rice is great. You canât go wrong everything is good. Restaurant is always busy so save a few minutes to wait in line. Owners are really nice. Service is wonderful. A proper Chinese restaurant that Austin really needed.
I really enjoyed the eggplant in garlic chili sauce! We also got the dry Sichuan chicken, which was fried perfectly and not greasy at all. đ It was nice to have a saucy dish like the eggplant to complement the fried chicken. We got two entrees for two people, and it filled us up completely. We got there at 5pm, and it started getting busy around 5:30pm.
Julie's Noodles
Iâve been a loyal customer since 2016, and this place never misses. The pig ears are a personal favoriteâbursting with flavor and perfectly done. The scallion cake is a must-try: crispy, flaky, and addictive. I have to say i order pig ears whenever am here, has tried so many places no restaurant can compete to this. Theyâre also famous for their hand-pulled noodles. I remember chatting with the owner years agoâshe told me they carefully select their wheat flour and make everything with heart, no added chemicals. You can truly taste the care in every bite.
The employees are kind and efficient! Helped recommend some delicious soup dumplings. We'd heard of this place and finally have it a go and we're happy we did. Noodles are home made and every cut of beef from the shank in the spicy beef noodle to the brisket to the thin sliced appetizer served with chili oil was incredible and cooked perfect. We'll be back many times and can't wait to try the beef scallion pancake burritos and pan fried dumplings. I recommend the beef slice with chili oil and scallion pancakes as appetizers as well as any soup dumplings!
Bento Teppanyaki Asian Cuisine
What can I say about this place? Well my daughter is in love with this place and sheâs been taking every friend to eat here with her, she is only 16years old and most of her friends are school age and she finally got me to visit with my wife for a dinner. The welcoming is amazing either from the host or the family members. The food is amazing and the cooking staff is so friendly. Iâve been there 2 times and I canât wait to go back again for the cheese puff and the soups are amazing.
Food was decent, nothing impressive in my opinion. General Tsos chicken was super saucy, not in a good way.
