Chef Sun’s Noodle and Dumpling McKinney
Amazing Chinese restaurant in Dallas! I visited this restaurant based on a friend’s recommendation, and it did not disappoint! I heard it’s a relatively new place, but the food quality is top-notch. The menu had so many tempting options, and I ended up ordering xiao long bao, steamed dumplings, chicken potstickers, chili noodles, pork & shrimp siu mai, and the wood ear mushroom salad. Everything was absolutely delicious! The chili noodles were bursting with flavor, perfectly chewy, and had the right amount of spice. The xiao long bao was juicy and full of umami. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic and delicious dim sum in the Dallas area!
All the dumplings, from soup dumplings to potstickers, were perfect. The non-dumpling dishes we tried were just okay. Service was excellent, and the ambiance felt upscale, with patio seating overlooking the amphitheater. Prices reflect the location, about 20% higher than similar spots further south without the same atmosphere.
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
The lettuce wraps are very good! We had the feast last week. It was the perfect size for our group! Maura was very helpful!
After a long time, I decided to visit Pei Wei and opted for vegetable fried rice with extra veggies. The person who took my order was friendly and served it quickly. Since I missed the dinner rush, there were only a few people dining in and some tables were dirty. However, the to-go orders seemed steady. I was impressed with one thing, the same guy who took my order was multitasking - cleaning the tables and handling to-go orders with a pleasant attitude. He even stopped by my table to check if everything was fine. If he's not the manager, he should be, as he took complete ownership of his work. The food arrived quickly, was hot and fresh, but I found it just okay. Perhaps it's a matter of personal preference, so it's worth giving them a try and deciding for yourself. I plan to return to Pei Wei but will try a different dish next time. As I was writing this, the same guy came by again and asked if he could take my dish as I was clearly finished. He was really proactive! I asked him his name and it turns out that Kevin is indeed a shift leader. Honestly, I can easily see him as a General Manager of his own store! Keep up the great work Kevin and the rest of the crew and Management!!
Panda Express
Food was not cooked correctly. I got honey “this is the worst panda I’ve ever had don’t go here.” sesame chicken and green beans are like so over cooked. I don’t appreciate robots taking my order and going so slow to do so. Also service was super slow didn’t even get asked for any sauces. So I had to sit there for 5 mins extra just to get soy sauce. On top of that there are some pieces in my food that looked like someone had taken a bite out of it
Moving out to this area from uptown dallas. Lovers & Greenville location never did us wrong. 2 months down the line trying out this location. Had a new item for 1.50 Upcharge (Black pepper steak) bet, specifically left off the orange chicken from my order. Had the sweet fire and sesame on my bigger. Not to mention straight up tired of the orange chicken (frequenting panda for the last 10~ years) Husband did order one portion of orange for his bigger. He goes to pick up the order (drive thru) handed off no problem. Condiments, cutlery, and the order neatly tied up. Brings it home and we open the first box. Appetizers we ordered. Wow we thought, what great customer service or maybe an accident. There was a 2x portion for the spring rolls & rangoons. Close to closing we thought must have had extra. Proceed to the entrees. All the stickers are labeled correctly. Upon opening though……. It was a total of 5 out 6 entrees on our 2 bigger plate. ALL are orange chicken. With the one exception of the kungpao… great. All three of my entrees are not included in addition to paying an upcharge for one. Being in the industry i realized that instead of dealing with the problem.. they faked it and hoped it would slide under the rug. No way on earth they doubled the apps. And didn’t include 4 entrees, especially when one was an upcharge. And didn’t refund The difference. Knowingly & that being said.. staff is incompetent or lazy… Either way. Will be following up with this tomorrow, at the location and Panda Express corporate.
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
No one at front to take order. Server sees you and pretend she did not. No greeting. Floor and table are sticky and dirty. Sofa is broken with similar color tapes. Food is horrible. I ordered chicken pad Thai. It should be stirred fried but cooked with excessive water. The noodle is very wet and soft. The sauce tastes simply sweet, no other flavor. Chicken tastes funny and crunchy. It should be tender and juicy. Overall, very disappointing.
I ordered the sesame chicken. I really liked it… It was very tasty. I also ordered the lettuce wraps and it was also very good. However, the dipping sauce is way too salty/spicy. Overall, I was very pleased with my first visit here.
Asian Pot Express
Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. Sesame chicken had a weird texture when chewing. Most pieces I spit out because it was so unpleasant. The Fried Rice was absolutely horrible crunchy and very bland. Very disappointed
They literally gave us fried batter for the Sweet & Sour Chicken. The Chicken Lo Mein has no flavor. The General Tso's chicken is good although it is more spicy than sweet.
