Noodles and Dumplings
It was the first time my wife and I tried this place, we got the orange chicken with a side of stirred fried noodles, steamed dumplings combination, and i got the spicy sesame noodle soup combination, orange chicken was lightly breaded, it had a nice crunch to it, taste really good, the noodles were something I've never had, so soft yet so very good, never tasted something like this before. The steamed dumplings were also delicious, if youre looking for a great soup. Chunky tender meats, great broth with great even spice to it, not too regular but also not too spicy. Our diner came out to $57 and the food was really spot on! Told my sister and brother in law and they tried the same order and they loved it too as well.
First time eating here. AMAZING! Super fresh! They make the noodles and bao buns right there while you can see them! We over ordered because we wanted to try several things. All of it was so good and we will definitely be back. I wish they had smaller plate options for what we did, but it's ok-we got some to take home! We ordered pork steamed bao bins, fried sample flavors dumplings, egg rolls, crab rangoons(this was the only thing that I've had better but it was still good), chicken tonkotsu ramen, chocolate fried bao buns. This is on my permanent list of places to eat at now.
Chef Joe Asian Cuisine
My friends and I decided to try Chef Joe's Asian Cuisine for an early Sunday afternoon meal, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t very busy, which allowed us to be seated immediately at a spotlessly clean table. The staff greeted us warmly, handed us menus, and promptly took our drink and food orders. The service was impressively quick—our dishes arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully prepared in no time. We started with the soup, which was a standout and set the tone for the rest of the meal. I ordered General Tso's chicken, while my friends went with the sesame chicken and the chicken with broccoli. Every dish was delicious—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and satisfying. We all agreed it was some of the best Asian cuisine we’ve had in a while. Though the restaurant wasn’t crowded when we arrived, a few more customers trickled in during our visit, and we noticed several takeout orders being picked up. It’s surprising this place isn’t busier given the quality of the food and service. Overall, Chef Joe’s Asian Cuisine exceeded our expectations, and we’ll definitely be returning. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!
First time here and will definitely be coming more often. Waitress was super attentive and helpful with our questions. Soups, appetizer, and dishes were brought out piping hot and promptly. Main dishes were also well served. 3 orders and we paid less than 50 bucks!
Thai walzem Cuisine
Been meaning to come here, had some time and since I tried Pho9 across the street I decided to make one more trip out here from Medical Center. Waited for them to open at 11 on a Monday. Really nice people here, said they've been here about 5years. On their recommendations I ordered the Yellow Curry w/Chicken- medium spiciness. Was really pretty tasty. Appetizer of Shrimp Blanket-6, Fresh (Veggies) Rolls-2. Both were excellent and filling. Complimentary soup of the day was Egg Drop. I'll be back to try their other cuisines of sushi rolls, Chinese,, Vietnamese. Give them a try 😉
I was really looking forward to a good meal and a 5 star review, but was sadly I was very disappointed. My friend and I decided to try them on a Tuesday afternoon about 4:30 pm. The restaurant was dead, we were the only guests there. We ordered Thai Tea to drink and were served regular ice tea. For food we ordered dumplings and Chicken Satay to start. The dumplings were over-fried and hard to eat. The Chicken Satay (chicken on a stick) was fried to a crisp, dried out and hurt my teeth to eat. The Peanut sauce wasn’t served warm. My friend ordered Chicken Larb (Chicken salad according to the staff) which had beautiful presentation but was weird in that it had peppers in it. This made it sweet not savory and that is not how traditional Chicken Larb is prepared. I was craving Pad Thai and was sorely disappointed when it came out with crusty, dried out and off tasting tofu. The whole dish just tasted old. When I decided to go to wash my hands the temperature in the bathrooms was 92°. Wow! So, Instead of leaving satisfied I left not eating even half our food, bloated and nauseous. Sad to say I will never return.
Tokyo Express
We were in the area shopping and decided to come check this place out. There was no wait at the time we came in. Food didn’t take long and it was all good. Tried the hibachi, fried squid, and crab Rangoon. It is a small type restaurant. It was also very convenient that their serving plates are to go and they have matching lids at the front.
Door dashed some squid because it used to be good but seems like you all have bad product. Was super greasy and portions were small and disgusting. They used to be almost nugget sized rings with good breading now its just greasy crumbs. Sorry gonna be the last time I order
Pho Ba 9
Awesome spot for pho in San Antonio. I was craving pho and this was a great spot to fill that. I got the combination special and the broth was just right. Fried egg rolls were on point. My friends of Thai was great too. Everything came out super fast and I was very surprised. Staff was super friendly and patient. I will definitely come back to try more.
This place was a secret gem hidden in the heart San Antonio discovered literally 15 minutes before it closes and they happily served us. Aside from pho, the food is surprisingly exquisite!! The clam dish was a starter and it was delicious!! Followed with family dinner, Canh chua cá kho tộ So So good and we came from SoSoCal and we have to say, the food is here not only Authentic it is delicious…I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed, we will return!!!
Wild Wing Station - Walzem
Simple counter-service restaurant where everything is served in foam containers and condiments serving size packets, fountain soft drinks or bottles are available, staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. On this first visit, we didn't even have wings, opting for chicken tenders and fried catfish, but we can't wait to come back for those two dishes alone. The meats were really good, but we couldn't get enough of the crinkle fries (with seasoning) which were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. I also really enjoyed the hush puppies and coleslaw which remind me of Long John Silver's.
I called in my order of 50 piece bone in wings. I was on Austin Hwy when I called in my order, so I knew there would be a wait when I arrived. There was an undecided couple in front of me, but I was finally able to pay for my order. They always show you the food before bagging it, and I think the chicken I got was malnourished because my 50 piece was the tiniest wings I have ever seen in my life! The flavors were delicious, but why were the wings so small this time? I wish the Austin Hwy location was opened on Sundays, but I'm glad Walzem Rd wasn't closed.
Panda Express
We used to love this location bc we live nearby, about 2 years ago this was my fav location but lately their food sucks! I know this is a greasy plate but lately they’ve exaggerated with the grease, i got a bowl with chow main and it was literally only cabbage and onions! They must have switched staff or something bc their servings lately are really bad. Last week i swung by and grabbed some food and it was same story, decided to try it again today but it sucked just like last time! 🤢👎
If you wanna get hooked up with a big healthy plate, this is not the place. Go to the panda at the Forum or on Austin Highway. This place is a little tight on the servings. Especially Management
