Piedras Negras De Noche
I grew up eating at Piedras Negras De Noche almost every weekend as a kid growing up. We would go to Piedras Negras Cafe when it was by the train tracks, then we would have dinner at Piedras Negras De Noche some evenings. I had not been back in years until last week. My wife had a bad experience years ago and refuses to eat there with me. We went with about 40 family members after my Aunt Sarah's funeral on Jan 9th. It was her favorite restaurant. My food was good, but they were super busy, and it took a while to get our food. It was in the middle of the lunch rush, so I'm sure they were not expecting such a large crowd on that particular day. My fajitas tasted like they had been frozen for a while, and my son's barbacoa smelled fishy, so he didn't touch it. Everything else I tasted was just like I remembered. The sweet tea, the chips and salsa, the rice and beans, tortillas. I hope I get a chance to go back soon and give them another chance. Everyone else who ate said their food was good.
This was my first time here because of a friend. We were a party of four and it was pretty busy since it was 4rd of July, but it was worth the wait. It’s is a small Mexican restaurant and you can feel the vibe right away. They had live music and the ambiance was cool. It was clean and they got an award for that. The food was good and we got it promptly. The service was really good. My only suggestion is they should update the decor. Mexican culture is full of colors and I couldn’t see them here. Overall it was good so I may go back again.
