Best Egg Drop soup in town. Great place with awesome service and great prices! Highly recommend 👌

Been going to Aprils for a very long time. I have to admit, it looks dirty, never see their health scores posted and their bathrooms smell so so bad like sewage!!! What the heck is happening inside their drainage system?? You can’t afford to at least buy air freshener from the dollar store? Really! It stinks!!đŸ˜· Well we went on Friday and the time was 8:35 and we were turned away! The male waiter motioned to me and my husband like they were “closed” with his hands. So then he asked the girl behind the front counter and she tells him no by shaking her head! It wasn’t the regular Hispanic lady. She didn’t have the courtesy to talk to us or say sorry. They close at 9 pm, I get it, it was close to closing time. But the fact that they serve super fast, we had time to eat and leave before or at 9 pm! Never had a restaurant turn us away before closing time. Also note we don’t enter like 20 minutes before closing hours. They surely didn’t appreciate our business! That’s the worst way to lose customers and business. Also, the wait staff never talk to their regulars or any customer at their restaurant is just poor service! We just cancelled them off our restaurant list. Fix your nasty and smelly bathrooms. Also need to display your health scores by law.

Had a nice experience on a date night at Sukeban, on late November 2024! Despite the small place being a little packed that day, we got attentive service. The restaurant has a nice, cozy atmosphere. The pork gyoza appetizer was good and crispy. I went for their Philadelphia Roll, and they were accommodating when I asked to remove the avocado. Using goat cheese instead of cream cheese on the roll is a great switch-up on a classic, and I really enjoyed it. I would've liked a little more fish inside the roll, but at the same time, I appreciate the size of the pieces as they are on point. My partner thought he didn't like sushi but was surprised after trying a piece of my roll and actually liking it! He ordered the chicken teriyaki, which was a generous portion. For dessert we shared the fried ice cream, an interesting warm and cold treat. All in all, everything was nice and we would probably go back. Their happy hour sounds like a good deal.

I've been homesick and really missing good fresh sashimi (I'm from Vancouver BC where we have some of the best seafood in the world). I found this place online and it's super cute and clean inside. I love the dark moody ambiance mixed with the colorful murals. I ordered three types of nigiri: fatty salmon, scallop, and yellowtail. They came out quickly and were decent, although I know that I have high expectations because of the seafood we get back home. The raw seafood here has a different texture than what I'm used to, it was really mushy and warm. I have never had sashimi like that! I also ordered the miso soup which was nice and hot, but it was a little too salty for my liking. Big sized portion though. The staff were super nice and attentive. I saw the chef scratch his nose with his fingers though, and not wash his hands, which made me a little grossed out!
