Hunan
Fantastic, classic Chinese food! Best I've had in Texas! We shared eggrolls, which were crunchy and delicious. Then we shared orange beef, chicken with snow peas, and chicken fried rice. Everything was hot and tasty. It's like the Chinese food I remember growing up in Chicago. Friendly people, too. We'll definitely go back.
We ordered for pickup 3 large as follows: Sweet and Sour Chicken, Hunan Chicken and Garlic Chicken. The food was hot and fresh and very tasty, the only issue we has we didn't see any difference between Garlic and Hunan Chicken. It would be helpful to post pictures of the most ordered dishes on your website or list the ingredients for each dish. Food is good but more info about the dishes would be great.
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
My family and I decided to give this location a try. We’re in the area quite often, but haven’t been to this one since they opened it up. At a prior location my wife had ordered Pei Wei’s version of drunken noodles. Though she had problems at the other location she took a gamble and tried again. And they were in her words “delicious”. I went for my favorite the orange chicken with white rice. Now usually they seem to skimp on the orange sauce. So I asked for some extra. My son ordered the teriyaki chicken. The last time we had Pei Wei, the chicken in both of our meals was very grisly. This time, only one piece in my wife’s entree was. So even though that particular part was a little unappetizing, it was already better than the last.
The food was pretty bland to me. The place is clean and the people were nice but I was NOT impressed with this location and we spent $60. How sad I convinced my family to come here when they wanted regular Chinese food. Paid $5 for the BOBA and it barely had any boba in it and was a medium in size. If im going to pay $5 for a drink...it better be good . I can go to Kung Fu Tea and get amazing Boba Tea...large...and lots of boba in it..Won't be back.
Van Chans Chinese Restaurant
I don't know why this place has such bad reviews, I enjoyed the very filling meal. I tried their fried pork dumplings, vegetable egg roll and lunch size cashew chicken. Both the lunch entree and appetizer were enough for two, so they make sure you are full! Good amount of food for the money. The fried potsticker was actually very yummy with a nice soy based sauce on the side. The cashew chicken was just what I wanted, with that thickened cornstarch based brown sauce with real mushrooms, zucchini, chicken and loads of cashews. They didn't skimp on cashews or taste. Everything was tasty and totally what one is looking for as far as take out Chinese. Atmosphere - It is setup as a counter serve place, no waitresses at close to 4pm on a Sunday, instead you order at the register and take a seat anywhere. However there are burn or mildew stains on the kitchen walls facing the dining room so I couldn't give them 5 stars on atmosphere. Although I did enjoy the Chinese red and gold decor and shiney pretty tables.
Came in to what I think may have been their dinner rush. They were still pretty quick to get our food out. My favorite dish was the shrimp fried rice. It was hot and tasted fresh and had some great umami flavors. The hot n sour soup was a little on the thicker side and was a little cold when it came out. It was very hot nor sour. The orange chicken was good in the sauce however some of the chicken was a little on the drier side. The charbroiled chicken was also a little dry. Overall I enjoyed the foods flavor. Would like to try it out when they are less busy.
Panda Express
Placed an order this evening online. Once it was delivered by DoorDash. We realized that the chicken on both dishes was raw and the Lo mein was also not fully cooked. We called the store, the person that answered said it was up to DoorDash on whether we got a new order or a refund. That someone would call us back. An hour has passed and no one has called back and Panda Express doesn’t want to take responsibility. Granted they are the ones that cooked the food. Not door dash. An hour later (8:10pm) we called back and spoke to the same person named James. Who claimed to be the manager and had no other manager on duty. He said that he called door dash and door dash would calm us within 3 hours. I explained that the food is raw and was cooked by them. We need a meal tonight. Not in 3 hours. He said sorry but it’s up to door dash not Panda Express and they take no responsibility for the food being raw. He said they steady remade the food, I said that’s great but we have no edible food. He said we have to wait 3 hours for door dash to call. Extremely poor service.
I love eating at Panda and it’s my first time eating at this location. Service was outstanding and the area of dining clean. My favorite entree is the walnut shrimp bowl and cream cheese rangoon. Everything was great!
China Taste
I have loved this place since I moved to Rockwall. Unfortunately, 202 took it's toll on them and they haven't recovered fully. They used to have a buffet of sorts and prices were very reasonable. Now there is no buffet and it's a bit more expensive but, the food is still good. I prefer their combination fried rice to any in the surrounding area from Greenville to Garland. In my opinion.
The food was so bland, except for the sweet and sour chicken. Strangely, the tempura had flavor. Egg drop soup: described as boiled water with food coloring. Hot & sour soup: boiled red pepper flakes. Veggies, but zero flavor. Egg rolls: fresh, but just tasted like boiled cabbage. No salt, pepper, garlic, nothing. General chicken: chicken tasted like from-frozen pre-breaded chicken pieces tossed in a homemade sauce. Basically, the old hospital cafe version of chinese food, but I can still say I’ve had better from a hospital. First and last time visitor.
