醉杭州 Home Kitchen
Authentic, cozy, and low-key upscale with prices to match. Friendly service and very tasty food. A great dining option addition to the area. The sun dried veggie with ribs (such an odd translation) were amazing.
Very nice atmosphere. Dishes are lightly seasoned, which i enjoy very much. Portion size is great. 片儿川 is ok, though not all ingredients are fresh. Will definitely come again. Update: after coming again, I reduced the rating by 2. Only 马兰头 tastes great. Pork does not have red color. Kidney is smelly. 桂花 does not have any aroma. After two visits, I felt that this is a decent chain restaurant, but price does not match quality.
New York Lovers Chinese Restaurant
Terrible to say the least. Dry Beef in the fried rice. Little tiny, beef Jerky like pieces of meat for the Boneless spare ribs. Dry, dry, dry. Also the lady at the front counter was playing in her daughters hair in the kitchen. She's kind of rude too. When I lived out there a few years ago this food was superb. Now, well let's say the Chef has left the building and the little 7 year old is running the show!! Don't waste your time!! Terrible!!!
It's really good, but they'll nickel and dime you to death. They even charge extra for a little bitty teeny tiny container of Chinese hot oil. The prices are in line with others in the area, so they should be able to absorb the cost of a spicy food enhancement into the prices of the dishes. Oh, and I'm not sure when, but they are apparently family-owned and operated and they take an entire month off each year to vacation. Must be nice! Another thing of note is they put brussel sprouts in their chicken fried rice. And not just a little that you can pick out if you don't like it, it breaks off and blends in with the rice and it's a nightmare. But if you order it without brussel sprouts, it's really good.
