Peking Restaurant
5 Stars Had lunch at Perking Restaurant in New Braunfels today, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a relaxed vibe that’s perfect for a midday break. The staff were super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and pepper steak , and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. You can tell they take pride in their food. The menu had a good variety too, something for everyone. I also appreciated how clean everything was, from the dining area to the restrooms. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area and looking for a solid spot for lunch. I’ll be back for sure!
this is by far the best restaurant in New braunfels. i am being 100% honest. i have been eating this fine food since i was a toddler. 100% recommended. as you can see in the photo i absolutely tore it up. i had the sesame chicken, hot and sour soup. ALSO VERY CHEAP FOR VERY GOOD FOOD.
Taipei Express
We came for lunch and we've never been but the food was really good. It was hot tasted fresh. I got sesame chicken and my husband got general tsos and it was good. We also tried the spicy edemame and it was addicting in a good way the egg drop soup was alright
TERRIBLE FRAUDULENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT HERE!!! TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!! I ordered a plate with no onions and CONFIRMED WITH THE EMPLOYEE that there would be no onions. I get home, smothered in onions. Employee hands me off to manager who speaks minimal english. She refused to refund me stating it was “my fault” even though i requested this with no onions AND HER EMPLOYEE CONFIRMED THERE WOULD BE NO ONIONS!! DUMB, INCOMPETENT, AND THIEVERY!! DO NOT GO HERE!! Gross in there anyways with no customers. Go somewhere where employees and management respect you and your allergies.
Delicious Garden (New Braunfels)
We usually use take out, which is very good service most of the time. I used to love the Hunan Shrimp. However, the last few times the salt content was unacceptable. I couldn't eat it. We called the restaurant and the owner or manager checked it and said it was "normal". The second time, it was the same scenario. We tried once more and the same thing happened. This last time I ordered something else which was just "OK". We are looking for a different restaurant since we love Chinese food, but it doesn't help my preference for this food when it is too salty to taste it. I am capable of adding salt to my dinner. I don't want others adding so much it makes the food mediocre at best.
I have been on a quest to find some Chinese food that I like the most aside from the buffet. Lets face it, I have to actually drive there and it is next to a tax place so I am reminded of that extension I filed. Anyhow, the good news is that I found a place that is pretty darn good after trying out three others. I have decided that Delicious Garden II will be my final resting point for delivery. As always, I will start with the “As Delivered” and then get right to my thoughts on each item. The quality of the packaging and delivery did not disappoint. Everything was warm and so tightly secured in the bag, the driver would have to be running laps in Nascar to mess it up. Since I ordered a side of Egg Drop Soup (Egg Rolls were included at one per entrée) I am going to tackle them both simultaneously. The Egg Drop soup (my friends fault as she created the idea in my mind) was excellent and by far the best I have tasted in this area from delivery. It was nice and thick, the flavor was fantastic, and most importantly, it was not overly salty. Just a great body to this soup. The Egg Rolls were spot on and I completely enjoyed them with my Low Sodium Soy. Crisp. Flavorful. Held up to the Soy Sauce and I sure did not look back with each bite. The first dish on deck is the “Kung Pao Dragon and Phoenix.” I was not quite sure what was going to be in it, but it sure was good! Shrimp was one of the additions and it was cooked well and added a very nice twist with the Chicken. This was just “flat out” an excellent dish and I was very happy. The spice level was quite nice and for once, someone got it closer to what I wanted/expected without a request. The meat was tender, juicy, and with everything else this is a winning combo. The second dish was Mongolian Beef, and I am quite picky about this one as it is a favorite of mine. While I love the Chinese Restaurants in California, this is the first time that I got to eat this dish here and it had heat to it! Finally!! I can only imagine if I asked for more and I’m smiling about that option. The meat was of good quality, and I didn’t find myself having to put a piece in the trash due to gristle. This meal was a homerun by this cooking crew, and I look forward to having some of the other items off their menu!! Moving along to the rice…no complaints. The Steamed Rice was perfectly tender and moist when it arrived. The much tricker Fried Rice was also well done and not overly oily like the past few that I have had. This was cooked properly and I appreciated that as an option without an additional charge. Right on! My only complaint is that I would have enjoyed just a bit more than a small piece of egg, but I know you are making things in a large batch so not much fault there. I ate it and enjoyed it! Final Thoughts: This restaurant was the last one on the road when it came to who would be the place I went to for Chinese Delivery. Nothing against the restaurant; they were closed when I wanted to order so that is on me. The reality here is this: Out of four, this is the best one, and I am happy to give them five stars as I not only had a quality meal, but my stomach was not overtaken by oil. These folks do a great job and if you’re looking for something that you are more used to like the small places we get food from in Cali, I would aim your compass in this direction. Well done Delicious Garden II. Well done.
P.F. Chang's
I recently visited PF Chang's, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was clean, quiet, and had a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed dining experience. Our server, Summer, was exceptional—very informative and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. However, while the service and ambiance were top-notch, the food was a bit of a mixed bag. Most of the dishes were quite good, but I noticed that some of the flavors, especially in the teriyaki chicken, were overwhelmingly sweet. Having visited other PF Chang's locations, I could tell that the sweetness was a bit more excessive than usual. I would recommend steering clear of the teriyaki chicken if you’re not a fan of overly sweet dishes. Aside from that, the rest of the meal was enjoyable, and I would certainly recommend the restaurant to others—just with a note to perhaps choose dishes with more balanced flavors.
Jasmine was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. The food was delicious and beautifully served, especially the lettuce wraps! She ensured we had everything we needed, making our experience fantastic. Ask for Jasmine, she’s the best!
Happy Dragon
If you're on the hunt for takeout that hits all the right notes, look no further than Happy Dragon Chinese Restaurant. Their sweet and sour chicken is a crispy delight, perfectly fried to achieve that satisfying crunch with every bite, while the tangy sauce adds just the right amount of zing. And let’s not forget the cashew chicken—it's bursting with flavor, featuring tender chicken pieces and crunchy cashews that create a delightful texture contrast. Every dish is made fresh, flavorful, and ready to take home, making it a great place to get some great meals to go.
The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the red headed young man who worked the register was one of the sweetest guys I’ve ever met. Other than that the food was absolutely horrible and disgusting. Dried and old. Not fresh NOT AUTHENTIC. Garlic chicken was the only thing that was barely mediocre but even that did not taste right or authentic. Calling this place “Chinese” is some sort of twisted joke. The wontons were cold and definitely come frozen from a box. Even Panda Express is better and we all know Panda Express is not real Chinese. I am extremely disappointed and annoyed. They tried to replace the orange chicken and sesame chicken that was so dried and old that all we had on the plate was the fried crumbles covered in sauce there was 3 pieces of chicken that was actually chicken. The beef and broccoli tasted and had the consistency of rubber. The lemon grass chicken had an entire onion chopped up with thin small pieces of chicken. This was one of the worst meals I’ve had in my 26 years of living. Worst restaurant in New Braunfels. Do not waste your money this is not good at all. The only thing I will say is that the young man was so polite, sweet and kind he was the only good thing that came out of this experience I hope he makes it far. But this place has 0 stars from me.
Panda Express
Great brand new restaurant in New Braunfels with plenty of parking and also drive thru. Spacious inside with lots of seating. Friendly employees. Really good food. We got orange chicken with white steamed rice. Two steak with vegetables and the steak was tender and delicious. Large button mushrooms with large vegetables and loaded with steak. Not overly hot pepper dish, so don’t worry. 3 egg rolls, all to go. Really recommend.
Subject: Disappointing Experience – Burnt Orange Chicken and Rice Wednesday January 8th 2025 2696 Loop 337, New Braunfels, TX 78130 Panda Express Management I recently visited your location and ordered two Orange Chicken bowls, but unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Both bowls were served with burnt rice that had a bitter taste and a charred texture. This completely ruined the meal, as the rice usually complements the dish. It’s shocking that such a basic mistake occurred, especially considering that your business has just opened. One would expect a higher level of care and pride in the food you're serving. Serving burnt food not only reflects poorly on your establishment but could also be a violation of OSHA regulations, as it impacts food safety standards. There's clearly a lack of attention to quality control, and this type of mistake should not be overlooked. I suggest you take the time to carefully inspect the food before serving it, as these issues can lead to serious customer dissatisfaction. I will not be returning, and I hope this feedback is taken seriously to prevent further negative experiences for others. Sincerely, Bailey
Panda Express
Best panda express in town way better then the creekside location. The service was terrific i couldn't ask for a better experience for me and my dog as they made us feel welcomed. One of the employees hooked my dog up with some chicken which was awesome will definitely come back again soon
I always order double shrimp and usually rice. Thus time I Jyst wanted double shrimp. My son comes back and I got this very very small box. I noticed when covid came and Biden was destroying our country. Everything became smaller and less of whatever it is you are buying. Anyway for some reason Panda Express has become literally very very greedy give you less and raise those prices. Makes me so mad and they all think the American people don’t know this. They think we don’t notice. Enough is enough that loser Biden and the democrats are history. Trump is coming back a fair warning to all industries, restaurants and retail either lower your prices to the consumer or put more inside yo eat. I really don’t care to ever return until they stop being so greedy.
J Plus Asian Cuisine
Tried this place for the first time after many years of seeing it. I ordered the General Chicken, since it was listed as a specialty. The general chicken was disappointing, it had a bit of a smokey/burnt flavor, and was a little tough to chew. The presentation was nice, but flavor failed to deliver. My waitress came by to check on me at least twice. Not sure what to think at this point. I would consider giving it another try, based on other reviews and photos. But my first visit wasn't great.
Our Chinese family rarely eat at “Chinese”restaurants because a lot of them are Americanize versions of an authentic Chinese dish. We decided to try this place because we’ve heard about their authentic menu. Was skeptical at first but when the first dishes came out we were stunned at how it looked just like we’re eating out in China. Flavor was rich, fragrant, and unique flavors that we come to miss from home. Definitely recommend you choose from their authentic menu if you are curious of what true authentic Chinese dishes are like.
Panda Express
Always fresh food and the lines move fast. Great customer service. Good job guys
I've eaten there several times and the food has always been good, however my wife and I went thru the drive thru this weekend ( late in the evening ) We were the third car in line. After waiting about 15 mins to move up to the window , I was ask to park to the side and they would bring our food. I noticed that both cars in front of me were also parked in the waiting area. After about 20 mins our food came out. Never again.... PANDA " EXPRESS"...I don't think so.
