Thai Hut Restaurant
The food was not quite what we are used to. My step mother was Thai and my wife and I have spent close to a years worth of time in Thailand. I'm thinking this was either slightly americanized or some short cuts had been taken. On the pad kra pao, one piece of beef did not taste fresh and in the wee hours I had a eruption of sorts. We love thai food but in this case none of us loved our meals. The saving grace regarding the food was the thai tea and Boba being decent. Initially the staff was pleasant but when we were trying to check out things were awkward. Nothing obvious, no disagreements and I still tipped well but it was simply a weird vibe. Did they not want us to leave?
The Lettuce served on the Chicken Lemon Grass was old and dry like if it was refrigerated, maybe they think people don’t notice these things, the white rice was tasteless but other than that the Crab Rice was very well done and the Tom Kair Soup and service were great. Great waitresses and customer care. They have a band on the weekend and it’s extremely entertaining seeing Thai musicians playing international music for you. Not much selection to pick for vegans and kosher taste.
Applebee's Grill + Bar
Steak was burned, mashed potatoes and fries were old and dry. At $22 for the plate it's Def not worth coming here. Asked for napkins and got the janitor brown napkins. Better luck at chilis
My family had a wonderful meal here! The servers were friendly, the food was delicious, everyone was patient with the children, it was a great experience! Carlos was a wonderful server and bartender. He makes an amazing white peach sangria.
Susie's Lumpia House
My family and I stopped into Susie’s Lumpia House on Sunday. This was the BEST homemade and authentic food we’ve had while here in San Antonio! No wait for seating. But the place did get super packed quick. Buffet had a lot of options, but isn’t a self serve buffet. Someone serves you the portions but you can go back as many times as you would like. (My guess is to keep from food wasting) Food was AMAZING! Temperature was on point and flavor was fire! The buffet only comes with water. Yea and soft drinks are extra. I still asked for a glass of ice with my soda. Desserts were also included in the buffet, the flan was the perfect finish to an AMAZING meal. Price wasn’t too bad. $87 for 4 of us with extra drinks. They have karaoke nights and a huge stage on the opposite side of the restaurant. And a small market with lots of Filipino goodies! Super neat place to visit. We will most certainly come again. Susie was also very personable! She came around to all the tables to see how everything tasted. She gave us a nice comfy homestyle feeling.
Really enjoyed the set up here! You can dine in for the lunch buffet -choose 3 entree’s with a scoop of rice- or you can do a la cart and take it to go. Pancit Bihon was very flavorful and had a good ratio between all ingredients. Lechon Kawali was amazing, all the pieces I had were crispy with a good amount of both meat and fat. Make sure to get the mang tomas to dip it in. Lumpia was big and filling. They’re wrapped more like egg rolls in my opinion, but they were delicious!
Sarku Japan
I love Sarku Japan. My husband and I have been customers since they opened in Ingram Mall. The portions are huge, more than worth the price. I wish they would bottle the YUMMY sauce so I can have it at home! We always order double meat and double sauce. Even our 3 kids love it. 😍
Love this place!! Sarku is one of my favorites for chicken teriyaki in San Antonio and I've tried them all. The restaurant seems to have a huge following and I can see why. Very delicious, affordable, and plentiful. I highly recommend you go out of your way to try this place even though it's located in a mall. Phenomenal!!!!
Pho Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant & Bakery LLC
Went with a buddy of mine since he and his Dad loves the place. I can see why, as I enjoyed the experience as well! I ordered enough, as usual, as to have leftovers. - Sesame Chicken with steamed rice - x2 Beef Eye Round and Steak? without the tendon... 😬 (i cant do it...) The food was great! Large serving size and delicious sesame chicken. The atmosphere was nice with the decor and the service members were attentive. I will hope to go back again to experience more as my pallete has grown.
I have lived in San Antonio my whole life, and have been a pho addict ever since I was a child. I have been pretty loyal to one spot here in SA for years, But today I tried Pho Saigon, and I can not explain how amazing my first visit was! We walked in around 11:30, and there was still some open seating still. But as soon as 12 o'clock hit, that place was flooding in with people! (Which is always a good sign) We were greeted by very friendly faces, Who also had no problem answering any questions we had about the menu. The Rangoons were INCREDIBLE!! Not your traditional shape, but they had plenty of filling, and were so warm, light and crispy. Now for the pho- hands down probably the biggest and most flavorful bowl that I have had in a very long time. The portions are very generous, and I definitely loved all of the steak that mine and my daughters bowls had. The basil was a very fresh as well as the sprouts. The limes were extremely juicy. I also love that they have fountain drinks, and not just can! (That is a big pet peeve of mine) I cannot say more good things about our first experience at this establishment. Their menu had so many options! This is a must try!
Asia Kitchen
I had an exceptional dining experience thanks to Ashley's outstanding customer service, which made the atmosphere feel even warmer and more inviting. The elegant fish tanks added a touch of sophistication to the overall ambiance. The food was, as always, amazing, and the Sauvignon Blanc selection was impressive. My only minor complaint was the inconsistency in portion sizes - I ordered a 9oz and a 4oz, but they appeared to be the same amount. Nonetheless, I'll definitely be returning
Had lemon chicken with fried rice. Fresh ingredients chicken was crispy good flavor quality stood out verse portion size 4.5 would have been a 5 if the sauce would have been on the side per my request since I prefer a very crispy chicken
Dragon Buffet
Grand opening days! Nice facility, the receptionist and waitress are excellent and attentive. There is a wide variety of food. Had the egg noodle soup, but the chips/noodles tasted stale. first time and some many people, $65 for 3 people.
He did this place for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. There was a bit of a wait about 15 minutes, but it went quickly. We got seated and started in on the buffet little bit messy but not bad items kept full.
Fish City Grill
Was in a bit of a rush today, so I had to do take-out. Decided to try Fish City Grill on a whim, and it turned out to be a great choice. First time here, and I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere/ambiance. Very cool vibe. Great service, quick too. Prices are reasonable. Great food as well as it should be. We will definitely return to try out more of their offerings.
After searching for a good oyster place while visiting San Antonio, chose Fish City Grill Culebra and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. Arriving during happy hour, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, setting the tone for a great experience. The menu struck the perfect balance, offering a variety of delicious options. The standout dish was the fried oyster nachos—truly a revelation that exceeded all expectations. Our server, Tiffany, was not only attentive but also provided great recommendations, enhancing our meal. Additionally, B treated us to a menu sampler that showcased the freshness of their scratch kitchen. Every bite was delightful. Definitely recommend Fish City Grill Culebra for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. The combination of excellent service, nice bar, and mouthwatering dishes makes it a must-visit!
godori Japanese & Korean fusion
I’ve dined-in here a couple of times and had really great experiences with great food and service. More recently I’ve been ordering takeout from here on the phone and have been met with really friendly staff and a whole lot of generosity. The owner has a lot of passion for what he does and it shows. 100/10 recommend!
Every single time i go here, i always enjoy it immensely! It's my all-time favorite sushi place, and all around, their food is amazing. I took my extremely picky parents here for dinner one time, and they loved the Korean food options! They had never had anything like it before. It definitely changed their perspective, and now they like to try different types of foods. My best friend and I try to go here as often as we can, we live on the complete opposite side of town, but we dream about the times we can go to godori! The staff has always been extremely sweet and attentive to us ❤️ 💖 Jung, Yuka, and Brad have served us at separate times, and I'm always hoping to have either one of them serve my table!! 💖 much love to godori, their staff, and their amazing food!
Sukhothai Thai Restaurant Express III
My recent lunch experience at Sukhothai in Alamo Ranch presented a vivid tapestry of contrasts. On the culinary front, the restaurant serves as a testament to the rich and vibrant flavors that Thai cuisine has to offer. The affordability of the meals was an immediate plus, setting a positive tone as we perused the menu. We began our gastronomic journey with the potstickers and cheese rolls, both of which were served fresh, hot, and were unequivocally delicious. These appetizers hinted at the culinary expertise lying within the kitchen’s walls. The main course further cemented our appreciation, with the Thai fried rice with chicken hitting all the right notes of flavor and spice at a level marked ‘Hot’. It was a symphony of taste that was both exhilarating and comforting. The sesame chicken, with its perfect blend of crispy texture and saucy goodness, was another highlight that deserves praise. However, the dining experience took a turn upon observing the restaurant’s interior conditions. Despite the relatively small and uncrowded space, cleanliness was noticeably neglected. Tables remained unbussed, coated in remnants of previous diners’ meals, and the floors were in dire need of attention. Moreover, the staff’s nonchalant attitude towards maintaining the establishment’s cleanliness, particularly a front-of-house worker who alternated between taking orders and personal leisure activities, was disheartening. It was evident that much could be done to enhance the ambiance and overall dining experience. Despite these shortcomings, the culinary delights provided a compelling reason to overlook the less savory aspects of the environment. I must give special mention to the sweet sticky rice with mango dessert - a dish that not only tantalized the taste buds but also delighted the senses with its unique blue-colored rice, making it my favorite rendition of the dessert I’ve encountered anywhere. In conclusion, Sukhothai in Alamo Ranch offers a culinary experience that can be described as a diamond in the rough. While the food stands out for its quality and flavor, the dining environment leaves much to be desired. A little attention to detail and cleanliness could transform this establishment into a gem worthy of its culinary offerings.
This is the best Thai spot in the area. Curry’s are all great. Cheese rolls and pot stickers were delicious. Thai tea was perfect but the pork fried rice was the star of the meal! Best fried rice in the area! Server was amazing. it’s a smaller restaurant but every seat was full and the one server available took care of everyone with a beautiful smile on her face.
Dave's Hot Chicken
Very tight seating, in addition to tight line lane. This place seemed to be very popular and the long line went by quickly. The flavor of the chicken, the tenderness and freshness are all reasons why I rated a 5. I didn’t know what to expect sauce wise, an employee described it similar to canes sauce. As a saucy girl myself, I would feel the more accurate description is a honey mustard sauce. They have outdoors seating in addition to indoors. This was a good place to try but I don’t see myself craving it anytime soon.
A Spicy Letdown: Dave's Hot Chicken Falls Short* Disappointing experience at Dave's Hot Chicken! Despite the hype, this location failed to impress: *Negative Experiences* 1. *Dirty Restroom*: Unacceptable conditions, including filthy stalls and sinks. 2. *Inattentive Staff*: Lack of supervision led to mistakes, including: - Incorrect orders - Orders coming in wrong 3. *Rude Service*: Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. *Improvement Needed* To restore customer trust, Dave's Hot Chicken needs to prioritize: 1. Cleanliness and restroom maintenance 2. Staff training for excellent customer service 3. Quality control measures to prevent order mistakes 4. Friendly and attentive staff interactions *Recommendation* Until improvements are made, I'd caution against visiting this location. *Tips for Improvement* 1. Enhance restroom maintenance and cleanliness. 2. Provide ongoing staff training. 3. Implement quality control measures. 4. Encourage friendly customer service.
Ginza Ramen and Poke
I got the Raman with crispy chicken and kiwi fruit tea. I really enjoyed both of them and my food came really fast (less than 5 minutes) I forgot to ask the waiters name but she was amazing!
Amazing. We got a miso with vegetables and tofu, and it was absolutely delicious. The miso had a deep flavor, the tofu had a nice, firm texture, and the ramen had the best texture. Very good selection for vegetarians and vegans. Highly recommend!!!
