Katy Asian Town
HMart is a nice change of grocery store. Food is fresh. We also enjoy the food court. Love the Hello Kitty merch!!!! Also their bakery was wild….so delicious. Coffee here was also very yummy and packed a lil kid kick!!!!
The parking lot is super stressful and the food is very pricey, but other than that the grocery store is somewhat laid out so you can find things. The fruits are fresh! That’s a plus. It’s really far away from where I’m at and not sure I would pick this over Bellaire Chinatown. BUT - it’s good if you want a glimpse of something Asian. Welcome to Houston… I mean Katy.
Mala Sichuan Bistro
The restaurant's decor, from the furniture to the lighting fixtures, is beautiful! Very nice atmosphere for a family dinner and would make a great date spot as well. I went with my parents so there were three of us total but would have loved to go with a larger group so we could have tried even more dishes. We tried the Garlic Bacon, House Special Funky Cold Noodles, Crispy Mala Beef, Pickled Pepper Chicken, and Sauteed Lotus Roots with red chili oil. Everything was very tasty, but the stand out dishes for me were the House Special Funky Cold Noodles and the Crispy Mala Beef. Almost every other table had an order of the Spicy Crispy Chicken (served in a shovel) so will likely try that next time. The service was excellent as well. Our server Gigi, along with many of her colleagues, were quick to fill our water glasses and checked on us consistently throughout our meal to make sure we were doing ok. Would highly recommend if you're at the Katy Asian Town plaza!
Mala Sichuan Bistro isn't the absolute best for Sichuan food in town, but it's always consistent which I can appreciate. I like the interior of this location the best; the Tsingtao Christmas tree was quite the sight. One of my favorite dishes here is the eggplants in spicy garlic sauce. Eggplants are cooked nicely and the sauce is just so flavorful and not too overpowered by the spices. The combination fried rice is a solid, safe option. The sizzling rice cracker pork wasn't exactly "sizzling" but the flavors were there and I always love getting wood ear mushrooms in a dish!
Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle 十秒到雲南過橋米缐
Overall, five star experience the food is delicious. Came out hot. The family had the bread, popcorn chicken, kimchi soup, and the Chinese soup. It’s nice that you could pick a different kind of protein(s) that you wanna add to the soup base. The parking was tight although there is a large parking lot on the other side of the stores. Clean facilities. The service was accommodating but they did seem a little busy to be proactive with checking in on us after we starting eating. Would recommend and look forward to coming back in the future.
First time here. Party of 7, no wait, Saturday night, walk-in. I got the Hot n Sour ready to eat noodle soup ($14.99) & sesame balls ($6). Gratuity is automatically added when you get the bill. My total was $27. Soup -huge serving -flavor: not sour, not spicy, & bland -would be better with Napa cabbage not an insane amount of lettuce. 5/10 Sesame balls (app) -7 small Taro filled balls. Pretty good. 8/10 In all there ARE better places, but I do like that they give you a LOT. I gave points because any hot soup feels great with the cold weather outside, but I should've gone to the Pho shop next door regarding to flavor.
JiBeiChuan Noodles & Dumplings 季北川花胶鸡米粉(Katy店)
JiBieChuan opened recently. Has had a daily steady stream of diners. Guess that was our cue to give this place a go. It’s self service. Early days. There’s stilll a few kinks to iron out but the place is off to a good start. Food esp the noodle dishes warmed our bellies. The fish maw and chicken noodle soup did not disappoint. Many requests for their fried baos were ordered. Popular item!! Staff are humble and friendly. Still loads in the menu to try.. next time! There can be a bit of a wait. The window style table and barstools can make that section of dining awkward for guests to wait or dine respectively plus those requesting to use the bathrooms.
Ordered crispy fish skin, pork shrimp chives dumplings, fish maw chicken soup, coconut milk stick, k6 pork sausage, and tripe noodles. Pretty good and has a variety of less seen foods. The milk sticks were a hit with the kids. Fish maw chicken soup was underwhelming for me but my wife loved it. The sausages were great paired with raw garlic. Fish skins were good but I can buy them at Costco.
Jia Kitchen
This is an amazing place for any family meals. This place offers so many options and a blend between Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. The atmosphere is awesome, it's always crowded but we got seated and got menus in hands very quickly. The service is great, a bit slower to take your order because they want to make sure your order is correct since they are always crowded. They typically check up on you for water and napkins without being over attentive. The food is super quality and cooked to my taste. I've been to many Vietnamese restaurants and this place always makes the most consistent food and taste you can get. The egg rolls are piping hot. It's crunchy and packed with fillings. Not a lot of shell. The rice plate has plenty of rice and the toppings are well seasoned. The fish sauce is sweet and salty not too overwhelmingly fishy. The wonton soup is light and each wonton has so much meat inside it's worth the money. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you ever go to the Katy area.
It was a bit pricey but delicious. I ordered multiple dishes and shared them with my family. Overall, the food was good, and the decorations brightened the mood.
Chung Wang Cantonese BBQ
This place was amazing. Food and service was great. Price was great for the amount of food you’re getting. Love the little shop they had. Food is made fresh with lots of flavor. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.
The food was so delicious! They were able to substitute the pork meat for chicken meat in our pan fried noodle order when we asked. The three meat combo was pretty flavorful and reminded me of Chinatown BBQ spots in NY. They were pretty attentive and even brought the food at our table.
Chef Han
Located inside the Hmart in Katy asia town. Always big quantity and good price. $15 (already taxed). Spicy level you can adjusted. This one is extra spicy. Food taste good. Not the best of the best but good. Customer service is good. Quick serve!
Every time we come we ALWAYS get their fried rice and noodles. Today we tried a few more options and let me say ....YUMMMMMYYY!!! The beef/tofu with vegetables was spicy and perfect for a cooler evening. Really helped clear up the sinuses with the weather change but in a good way. The beef and broccoli was delicious, our 4 yr old really enjoyed it. Always a treat when we visit.
AMA Kitchen | Houston's Innovated Food Hall with Ghost Kitchens
Flavor was good in everything we ate. I prefer more tender meat in the beef in the beef noodle soup and the beef roll but the manager mentioned that we could request that next time. The service was great, very friendly.
Tried the combo meal for 4 persons and it was more than enough for 4. The popcorn chicken is a must try as appetizer or may go well with a cold bottle of beer. We also tried the Dimsum Dumplings but there were really very little choices. Over all, it was a good dining experience.
Yan Tea Cafe
I was looking for roast duck in Katy, and this restaurant caught my eye. I ordered three BBQ meats over rice to try their Chinese BBQ. All three that I tried were above average. I especially liked the roast pork. The crispy skin, along with the juicy meat, was really enjoyable. I would like to come back for the Beijing duck set. The environment was clean and with a good atmosphere.
Simple and clean restaurant! Was craving some Chinese BBQ and this hit the spot! The pork belly skin was super crispy, and the Chinese bbq was tender and marinated perfectly. They also had other menu items like dim sum and congee and then some! Service was super sweet, felt very welcomed the entire time. Definitely making this my new favorite spot !
Phat Eatery
This is one of our favorite places to eat in Katy Asian Town. All the food we’ve tried has been delicious, especially the roti and sizzling tofu. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu. This last time the servers were great and the food came out super quickly despite us having a table of 6 adults. We’ll always recommend Phat Eatery.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Phat Eatery in Katy, TX, and it was an absolute culinary delight. If you're craving authentic Malaysian street food, this is the place to go! We started with the Roti with Salt & Pepper Calamari, and it was absolutely delicious. The roti was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the calamari was tender and perfectly seasoned. Next up was the Chicken Curry dip, and it was just as good as the calamari. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the curry sauce was rich and creamy. We also tried the CK Teow, Nasi Lemak, and Hainanese Chicken, and they were all equally delicious. The CK Teow was a bit spicy, but in a good way. The Nasi Lemak was flavorful and satisfying, and the Hainanese Chicken was tender and juicy. The service at Phat Eatery was also excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Phat Eatery. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fun and casual. If you're looking for a great place to eat Malaysian street food in Katy, TX, I highly recommend Phat Eatery. I hope this review helps you decide if Phat Eatery is the right place for you.
Market Eatery
Great super Market, my wife and I visited the food court and it was amazing, we try: Donkey Yaki: Great place, we order a Tako Yaki (octopus balls) and they were great, really tasty we also order a Veggie Springroll and they were nice and crunchy, tasted it really fresh and it was not expensive at all. Will definitely come back for more. Crab Ave: Also great, we had the seafood soup and the combination fried rice, the soup had great flavor and it had tons of seafood one bowl was more than enough food, the rice was also great, perfect taste and colors.
Love eating at the food court here! You have a choice of Chinese, Korean and Japanese all under one roof and the food is great!!!! My fav places are CaoBao and Jang Geum. I highly recommend checking out both!
Caobao
Delicious bao options and soup dumplings. All came fresh and hot. Spicy brisket was not too spicy, pork, chicken curry, and teriyaki chicken were all delicious. Soup dumplings were large!
I will be coming back, the buns are amazing!!! I ordered three, the BBQ Chicken, the Juicy Pork, and the Egg Cream. The Juicy Pork was so savory and juicy! I ate it in three bites and wished there was more!! The Egg Custard was sweet, but not overpowering, and the custard was wonderful and creamy! I would definitely recommend these two!!!
