Hi Trendy Dumpling
Low key ambiance. Staff is very hospitable. Started with a delicious soup dumpling. Mild, but flavorful. The Taiwanese Noodles were tasty with julienned vegetables and small bits of chicken. Loved the eggplant dish prepared with a light soy sauce mix. The walnut beer-battered shrimp was lightly sweetened. Finished off with a chocolate drizzled waffle topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Good flavor and taste. Soup dumplings have good dough thickness and tasty broth. All other stir fry dishes were great too - might be a bit too salty for those who are sensitive to that
Heights Asian Cafe
We drove an hour to visit this restaurant. Upon seeing the wonderful reviews we added it to our list of “must try’s”. The service was excellent from start to finish. We had an older woman taking care of us and it felt as if she was cooking just for us! I love supporting small business, especially family owned and operated. The menu has a great selection and offers plenty of food. The kid’s menu was excellent. The crab Rangoon was perfection. Not over cooked and the right amount of filling with thingy sliced scallions. The hot and sour soup had a nice thick consistency but not too thick. Everything was made from scratch and the tempura batter on the general tso’s chicken was perfect. We will definitely be back the next time we are on this side of town.
Went during lunch - ordered crab puffs , chicken wrap , and beef chili lemon grass with steamed rice the plate came with a soup and a veggie egg roll .. also ordered two pork egg rolls to go . All the food was delicious. Service was just a tad slow but everything came out so fresh so that made up for it ! I sat outside the nice little patio area. Total was $33
Zen Mei Bistro
This place is a beloved neighborhood staple. The lemon chicken is one of my favorite dishes. The breading is so thin and crispy, and the dipping sauce tastes like real lemons. I also love the braised string beans and pan fried yee mein noodles. The owner and staff are so nice and attentive, and they also support several Chinatown mutual aid orgs. I love them.
The ladies are really nice, got the pork and century egg congee and it had lots of pork in it compared to other spots I’ve been to around Chinatown! Also got their Singapore noodle stir fry which came with lots of various seafood!! I wish I also tried their fried shrimp but will definitely go back for that next time.
