Silk Road
I was skeptical... I really was. Dim sum restaurant in a hotel? It was only because it was so close to West U that I gave it a try but I am so happy I did! Everything I tried was delicious including some classic renditions of old favorites that I have always loved. They hit it out of the park. I particularly liked the stir fried noodles (beef). The noodles are made fresh in house and it was awesome! I also particularly liked the turnip cake which is something I merely tolerated when getting dim sum at other sites. If you like turnip cake, this might be the best I've ever had. It's a different experience than I was expecting since most places I have been at have slow or cart service with food that has been under warmers. Everything we ordered was made fresh for us and arrived hot. Very traditional and very tasty. Highly recommend if you live in the West U or surrounding region! It's nice to know we don't have to continue to drive to Chinatown for our ~monthly dim sum outing.
It is a hotel, so prices are a bit higher than your average dim sum place. Regardless, the place is delicious and very cute. The food has excellent quality. The day we went, they were down a couple of employees so service was a bit slower, but they were all so gracious and trying their best. Devin was extremely hospitable and gave us some bites to taste free of charge to make up for the hiccups. Overall, I would go back again because I loved it.
