The Rice Box
I normally dislike eating outdoors, but it was a pleasant little place with incredibly good food. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, there are propane heaters to keep you warm on colder days. I really enjoyed myself and the employees were so sweet and helpful.
Ok we went for the first time tonight. Kids weren't fond it and they love Chinese food Husband and I loved it! Online to me seemed over whelming to think to order. Walk in was welcoming menus was EASY to order from! The guy I can't remember his name(had a mustache lol) was so nice. We ordered went outside... inside felt LIVE outside everyone seemed quit and boring lmao. We 4 were definitely a little louder oooppps. We hung out ate and love the outside tables(I enjoy eating outside). The guys(with the mustache) gave us some sweet dip for the egg rolls WHICH WAS AMAZING! Definitely going back without kids lol they boring jk they don't do change well but they didn't complain about the food just not their usual. (Boooo only photo I got) great size portions I agree with that husband and I could have shared.
Baodega 小杨生煎
I really enjoyed my food here. I had the shrimp and pork shumai and the fried soup dumplings. They were exactly what I wanted. The staff here is friendly and helpful. I really like the space and how much seating there is even though it seems small from the outside. There are so many things I want to try on the menu, but honestly I will probably get what I had since it was so good. I recommend coming here! Also love the name!
REPLY to owner’s comment for specific feedback - Have you tried those three specific dishes yourself? The specific shortcomings are stated below. Not sure how much more specific to get into. The moat awful soup dumplings, even worse than the divvy Chinese takeout places. Dough - thick. Meat - dry. Juice - none. The yang chow fries rice was dripped in soy sauce. Yuck. The sautéed string beans was so small in portion and salty.
Jue Lan Club
This place is a whole vibe. Super trendy and chic; dope ambiance, fire music, and dim lighting. The food was amazing as well. Fresh/ high quality ingredients and I was even more impressed that we had a super large party but all of the food came out at the same time and was hot and fresh. The deviled eggs were delectable, the filling was so light and velvety. I also had the shrimp lo mein which I loved how they weren't stingy with the shrimp and they were very nice sized as well. The pork fried rice had nice sizes of shredded pork, almost felt like ribs, in it. The filet mignon was very tender and the chicken wings were fried perfectly, extremely crisp and seasoned. The service was also on point and friendly all across the board. I'd def recommend this spot and can't wait to return.
I recently visited Jue Lan Club in NYC, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. The food was absolutely amazing—I’ve never had Asian cuisine this flavorful and perfectly executed. Every dish, from the appetizers to the desserts, was exceptional. One standout was the chicken satay (if I’m recalling the name correctly). It was phenomenal and left a lasting impression. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
