Tiger Noodle House
Definitely a wonderful culinary experience! At Tiger Noodle House, the food was delicious from the very first bite. The customer service was exceptional, with super fast service that made our visit even more enjoyable. Plus, the prices are very reasonable, making this place an ideal option to enjoy a good meal without overspending. The taste and seasoning of the dishes are simply irresistible. You definitely won't regret visiting this restaurant. Highly recommended!
Wow pleasantly surprised, ordered tiger fried rice, dongpo pork, and dry beef noodles, only took about 15 mins for the food to come out all at once and the fried rice was perfectly seasoned, not greedy with proteins. The dongpo was pretty good a bit underwhelming but good nonetheless, and the noodles were good as well, definitely would come back it's worth the trip.
Bao Shi Yi
Braised beef noodle soup is my favorite, and the noodle is hand made. Food is authentic and delicious. Each table has its unique decoration, and vibe is cute.
Tldr; delicious! Amazing Chinese food, get the Chinese pancake! Very reasonably priced, great authentic Chinese food, and cool atmosphere. Great for a quick bite or casual date!
The Rice Box
Rice Box is a really cool take on Chinese Takeout with a modern twist. The inside is simple but modern, with the neon aesthetic permeating throughout. The staff is younger, but nice and by no means hipster nerds. They are extremely helpful. The food is flavorful and amazing, if you want more traditional or American Chinese fare they have you covered. It’s located in the heart of Rice Village so you already know parking is limited. At worst, you might have to use the village parking garage. While you are there check out the boutique shopping and give small businesses your patronage.
This was my first trip to the Rice Box after passing it by for many months. I was very shocked at the futuristic design. It almost gave me Total Recall 2099 vibes. The concept is super cute! Love the design of the menu and even how the water station is set up. They offer sparkling and flat at no additional charge. I ordered take out for my meeting and the food was delicious and held its heat for my additional 20 minute ride to the meeting. They even packaged everything to perfection! The Rice Box is definitely worth returning to and bringing all my peeps. I may even recommend we have our next meeting or networking event there!
Duck n Bao
Food is great and is fresh. Try the octopus appetizer is really amazing and spicy! Service impeccable and fast. The only reason is not a five star is because the duck fried rice has little to none duck making it tasteless. Just avoid that dish. All the rest is great.
Nice place to dine in! First of all, Houston’s food scene offers huge choice of Chinese cuisine, therefore competition is very strong and you need to warrant all expectations. Duck n Bao definitely does that with specific touch. Level of spice is slightly lover than at Szechuan places, but it allows you to feel different tastes of every single component in the dish. Yet spice is not missing. Dishes on the menu are like in other places with small variations but definitely complemented with very modern atmosphere and kind staff. Prices as in any other place, but we will come back!
Cooking Girl
Great restaurant with authentic flavors and great family style portions. In my opinion the flavor was better in the Montrose location but this delivers quality as well. The chicken cubes were very strong on the MSG flavor. The Dan Dan was the best dish here, very flavorful. I liked the ambiance better at the Montrose location too, but this one had lots of indoor seating space.
Ordered the mapo tofu and green/white soup, both were great and big portions. Very reasonable prices. Forgot to take pics at the restaurant, so attached are pics of my leftovers. I plan on coming back :)
Don's Asian Cuisine
Went to the soft opening today and let me tell you, the food was spectacular! We enjoyed every dish that we ordered. Do not sleep on the papaya salad! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and service was very fast! We will definitely be visiting again!
I ate at this restaurant around a year ago and came out disappointed, food was below average and service wasn’t the best either. They’ve been under a new management for the past 3 months. I’m obsessed with Vietnamese food, specially Pho, Spring rolls and Bah Minh, so since 2017 I try to go to new pho places each time I can and give it a try, I have my favorite places of course and I come back to them often. Food here was ok, the Bahn Min is slightly toasted, and I loved that… is how I understand it needs to be, it lacked a little love (or probably experience?) in the preparation… butter was everywhere and not properly spread, also probably more pickled carrots/onion flavor, at least that’s how it tastes in the place where I think they make the best I’ve had so far (Simply Pho). The Pho needs a little more life, more intensity in its flavour and colour, but it was decent, I always order beef broth with veggies and tofu wherever I go… this one didn’t change my life, it has room for improvement, finally the thing that I disliked the most was the spring rolls, they definitely need more love and the peanut sauce, a more intense sweet touch, I ordered tofu ones, but idk they were plain and tasteless in comparison to the places where I like them the most. Service was good, dedicated and polite, by far I can assure the quality service is the biggest improvement I noticed from former management/staff.
Hu's Cooking
Nut allergy warning: The kung Pao chicken, Dan Dan noodles, and perhaps some other dishes have peanuts, but we were fine with what we ordered. We had no issues getting a table for 6 at around 8:30PM on a Saturday evening. Food came out extremely quickly (less than 10 minutes for almost everything). However, our lotus root order was seemingly forgotten and that took longer, almost 30 minutes. For six people, we ordered: 2x Spicy Chicken (Fried): Two orders because our first vanished so quickly. The chicken is nicely crispy, surprisingly more airy than other Szechuan places I've had. The onion soaks up some peppercorn flavor too. Twice Cooked Pork (4/5): I thought the pork was a little tough on some pieces, but it was overall very good! Mapo Tofu (4.5/5): Excellent portions, great flavor Beef Slices in Golden Hot Bowl (4.5/5): Love the amount of vegetables it came with, very well balanced and goes great with rice. Sauteed Lotus Root (3.5/5): I thought this was a little too oily, but they nailed the texture and crispiness. Matcha Soy Milk Tea with Boba (2.5/5): The matcha flavor is quite nice, but the boba is nothing special. The texture is a little grainy. Overall, a solid option in the area. I'd come back if I was around again but I think I have other favorite Sichuan places in other parts of Houston.
The selection and prices were great. We shared 6 dishes among our party, and everything tasted amazing! The service was so friendly and fast! I can't wait to come back!
