Mala Sichuan Bistro
When I first stopped in, after reading some very positive reviews, I was surprised to find the place totally empty. This worried me at first, but I think because they're accessed at the back of the complex, it's a little out of the way for most people. Not to mention that I showed up at 11:30 for an early lunch, but it seems like dinner is much more lively I ordered the Spicy and Crispy chicken, since I saw that come up in recommendations a lot. And I was expecting something very intense, like Buffalo chicken, but true to the idea behind the name, the spiciness of this chicken is very bright and tingly, and combined with the lemon flavor going on, there's no sense of heaviness to this dish at all. I paired mine with the Stubborn Ox cocktail, which was super floral and refreshing, and only accented the brightness of the chicken all the more. In short, I don't think dining here will necessarily replace the experience of ordering a big bag of sweet, saucy takeout, but it is an ENTIRELY different experience, and one I will be recommending to anyone in the area going forward.
Super impressed with the AUTHENTIC Chinese cuisine here and it’s in the HEIGHTS! Usually we can only get authentic Sichuan food in Chinatown but this place is legit. What most impressed us was that we DIDN’T taste MSG, and the food was NOT overly sweet or salty like American Chinese food usually is🥳 It was super balanced and DELICIOUS. We will be back!
Sichuan Pepper Express
I've visited the new location off Jones and 1960. Everything I've tried has been delicious. My favorite has to be the sweet and sour pork with the fried rice. The Rangoons are on point, so plump, huge with crab! Get ya some.
Food is always fresh and hot!! So many times we order on an app and it’s cold. It’s just better to pick it out. Eat it here and have nothing to clean up at home My family loves the noodles, orange chicken? And of course vegetables to make it healthy!
Pokeworks
5 stars, the cashiers are great, the owner NEVER lets the line get long. Everything is so fresh and delicious!! I love everything here. There’s a good amount of space to dine in. The ice machine has the crunchiest ice. Everything here from A-Z is great!!
Not knocking down more stars because we have gotten poke from here multiple times and its always delicious but today i ordered two bowls and one of them i asked for reg tuna and spicy tuna and when i opened my bowl one of the tuna was completely gray/brown. I ordered as soon as it opened so i would expect that everything would be fresh but looks like they just used tuna from Monday morning (it’s wednesday today) since they didnt open yesterday because of the winter storm. Picture for reference of the nice pink tuna and the gray/brown one. I also always order this combo so i know its not about a difference between the two tunas.
Crawfish Cafe
I’ve had takeout from this place, and every time I'm blown away by the delicious flavors they deliver. Their expertise in blending spices truly shines through in every dish, adding just the right amount of heat and depth to the meal. The crawfish, in particular, was a standout—perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and seasoned to perfection. It's clear they know exactly how to balance spice and savor to enhance the natural taste of their ingredients. Every order leaves me thoroughly satisfied, and I always look forward to my next takeout experience!
Their crawish is great but the service is below mediocre. Upon walking in you can notice majority of unhappy individuals (employees that is, definitely Not the customers). I had a to-go order this time for pickup on curbside. Called the number and operator transferred me to the curbside, it rings once and goes to "call back again later". I called again and same thing happened. I went inside and over the course of 20 minutes i have told 3 different people that I'm trying to pick up a simple order of 4lb of crawfish. Every single one told me they would let me know. I stood in the same spot and watch them run around. Had to come up to the front desk to check and they even gave me attitude "when it's ready we'll call you". Then i noticed a few bags on the to-go rack, people came in and one bag was left. I came in again and said "maybe that's my order"? They asked for the last 4 digits of the phone number and gave it to me smiling. Clearly they never called me and never would have called me, either! I understand busy, but to give an attitude when you're clearly not capable of executing a simple "call you when it's ready" task, then do not not talk down to people! You can have the best food in town, but if you cant train your people or have an effective system that works you will only hurt your reputation!
T&T Seafood Market
The food was hot and fresh but the rice was a bit sticky and it's not what I am used to as far as fried rice it was yellow and not really what I would consider fried rice although they did give you plenty of shrimp I purchased a small order and it was $9 I also purchased a fish special that was $11.75. The area or location was a bit scary and I probably would not have stopped if it were night.
I ordered Sautéed Shrimp Fried Rice Spicy&Wings. The rice was mushy but it was good and well seasoned. Good amount of shrimp in the for a size small. Wings I was so disappointed no seasoning at all just bland. Even tho it looked brown and was crispy. :/ try to order ahead because you’re going to be waiting. Enough parking space, the area might be a little scary for some people but i safely walked in & out.
