Hands down some of the best Cantonese we’ve ever at the most lowest prices. We ordered 7 delicious dishes and it was $90!! The service was so quick and the ladies were so sweet and attentive! By far one of our favorite places now.

Like many said, don’t let the decor and appearances fool you. This place is a hidden gem with their delicious and well prepared Cantonese style food. I tried their signature dish of salt and pepper fried pork ribs, Cantonese combo crispy noodles and their fried sole fish. Everything was perfect and huge portions. Will definitely be back for more.

November 2024 We were looking for a restaurant serving dim sum and also Chinese cuisine. Ocean Palace fit our criteria. Long wait for seating on Sunday but we understand it is during peak hours. The waiting system helped reduced the stress of waiting. Dim sum is ok. However, no communication between the kitchen and our server. They sold out one of our orders but no one informed us. We have to alert our wait staff to find out about our order. We spend most of our time waiting for our food. VERY FRUSTRATING and we lost our appetite after such a long wait. Time is priceless. I don’t like to leave bad review. OP, you can do better!

The egg custards were super tasty and beautiful. Fried taro dumplings were so delicious. The rest of the dishes were normal. The Chang Fen skin was too fragile. I couldn’t pickup them by chopsticks and it collapsed to pieces. Needs improvement. The service was excellent. Overall I like the place and may visit again.

The service was great the lady that took our order was very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious Great price. I definitely recommend!!

Myself and my family ate in, the lady in the front was very kind and answered any questions we had. The food came out fast and the quality was exceptional. We will definitely continue to order from here! We recommend the Pepper Steak!

The outside of the restaurant and the entire strip mall look like they’re past their prime by about 20 years. Stepping in, it looks like that on the inside too. The all redeeming quality is the kitchen which produces food that’s out of this world. Omg it’s so good! This place is like a video game character where the player put all skill points into the kitchen and none into appearance or ambiance. Granted, it’s what counts at the end of the day, but still the atmosphere is that of a melancholic storage room.

Best banh bot chien in Houston. One stand out thing about this restaurant is price hasn’t changed much. I noticed in the fried food & noodle dishes there’s not a heavy amount a salt, and or msg. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 just watch your surroundings in this area.

Contactless payment available at the pump. No paper in the printer. Well lit with abundant pumps. Not clean outside but inside was fine. Egress on South Kirkwood is hazardous because ingress drivers swing wide at a higher speed than necessary.

Drove into Houston looking for the best dim sum and the reviews about Fine River Restaurant don't lie. It's a cozy and quaint locally owned business that has a line of Chinese folks out the door. Arrive early or be ready for a wait outdoors. When you arrive, write your name and # in party on the clipboard, grab a menu and order sheet and get to picking all the deliciousness! This was our very first time ordering dim sum, so I prepared by watching a couple of YouTube videos to ensure I ordered what I would like to try. Everything was delicious. Once you're called, you hand over your order sheet, take a seat, and they deliver the food a couple of dishes at a time. I can't wait to go back for more!

Fantastic no frills dim sum every day restaurant. The restaurant had most of the dim sum classics and the prices were very reasonable when compared to the prices at other local restaurants. Service was quick and friendly. This is a family owned small business and many of the dishes were served by the owner’s son. On Sundays come early or you might have to wait for a table! The vegetable spring rolls were only $2 for 3 rolls cut into 6 pieces. My only complaint is that the fluorescent lighting in the dining room is very harsh.

Very nice and clean place with a lot of variety of dishes and one of the best Sahzwan noodles and chicken biryani i had in a while! Ahmed was fantastic and advised us good dishes when asked. Service was top-notch....just ask for Ahmed. Also, it stays open till 4 a.m. :)

This restaurant serves reheated frozen naan (bought outside) bread. The majority of their dishes are prepared from frozen and reheated ingredients, rather than being freshly made. Despite offering Indian cuisine, the flavors often lack authentic Indian taste. Please stay away from this place.

At first, I was skeptical about coming here but I gave them a try and it was worth it! The food is great and fresh. It's affordable and I've been back three times now. Whatever you get you really can't go wrong. I enjoy the Grilled Teriyaki Chicken. It's cut fresh right in front of you and they have daily specials for $6.99 that comes with a drink. Great job.

A Hidden Gem in the New Spot! We’ve heard the whispers—new location, growing pains, mixed reviews. But let me tell you… that was not our experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like regulars. Our server was on point the entire night—friendly, fast, and totally on top of things. At most Chinatown spots, getting extra rice or a water refill feels like a side quest. Not here! We had barely scooped the last grains of rice onto our plates when a fresh, steaming pot appeared like magic. Our water glasses? Never empty. It’s like they had a sixth sense for our needs. Now the food. The short ribs were rich and tender, the orange peel chicken had the perfect kick of zest and crunch, and the honey pork? Sweet, savory, and absolutely addictive. Great service and seriously delicious food. This place is a staple in Chinatown! P.s. Chopsticks are standard. I think they were judging the book by the cover tried to deliver forks and spoon prior to the meal 😝

Lau Cua Dong hotpot is the best here. Foods are come with varieties vege and flat noodle and tofu, and beef. Especially they have fried fish cake is also the best I had tried. Parking is big and always available in this shopping center. Small restaurant but look cozy. Good place to hang out with guys since they serve liquor there. Will come back to try different food. Recommended.
