Panda Express
A group of 6 of us went on Sunday, March 23, 2025 shortly after they opened at 1115am. We may have been the first people in. The food looked great but it was horrendous! I think it had been sitting for over an hour. The black pepper chicken was raw and cold, the Bejing beef was soft and not crispy like it was sitting there. Cheese rangoon so cold they were terrible could not even eat them. The orange chicken must have been the freshest was ok but cold too. Even the steamed rice was terrible, must have been from the night before. On top of it all as we were sitting trying to eat it the cashier came up and said the charge did not go through and they made us pay again and said if you happened to get charged twice just come in and we will credit you. Well, guess what? We had two charges on credit card when we got home. So had to drive 15 miles the next day to get our charge card credited. No coupons for meals for our inconvenience, no sorry, not even a free soda, nothing and then they were questioning the charge because we donated a dollar on the first meal and the receipts were $68 and the 2nd one $67. Finally got it settled but I think this is the last time we get a crappy, cold meal from Panda Express again!
We’ve only come here three times through the drive thru, and all three times they were out of what I wanted or there was a 10 minute wait for what I wanted (we have a baby in the car who does not like to sit still so that’s why we usually opt for “fast” food). I usually get super greens, string bean chicken and then switch up my other protein. Last time they didn’t have super greens. This time I ordered the super greens and it was all raw veggies. They’re supposed to be “wok tossed in a garlic sauce”. Nope. Just raw broccoli and cabbage. I steamed it myself at home just so I didn’t waste it. They were also (once again) out of string bean chicken (third time in a row). They said it would be a 10 minute wait so I picked something else. We ended up still waiting around 8 minutes for our food anyways. I don’t know why they would have something on the menu that they never have ready, which is kinda the whole appeal of Panda Express, it’s literally a buffet so you shouldn’t have to wait 10 minutes for something they should have sitting in a pan. Also my broccoli beef had all of 2 pieces of beef. So for $13 I essentially got a plate of broccoli.
Asian Star Buffet
I am so glad this place is here instead of the old buffet. They truly worked miracles inside. It is clean and well spread out. Nice atmosphere for sure. The food was good as well. Plenty to choose from. They even had a chocolate fountain, lol! Employees were friendly and helpful.
Some stuff was good while others not so much. The Lo main, dumplings and chicken kabob sticks were awesome. The breaded shrimp, house rolls and peppered chicken was also pretty good. Everything else was bland at best. My wife liked the fruit salad with the marshmallows though. Also maybe add a dessert called Flan? It's very popular at the other Asian buffet we usually go to.
