Hot Spots Eat Fresh (Chinese, Wing, Ramen, Boba Tea)
The location is a former beach vibe food place with a huge outdoor court, now it a family style Chinese spot, the service was amazing, the portions are huge and the food was very good. The transformation on going so the decor is odd, but if you can over look that, stop in for some tasty food.
I found Hot Spots Eat Fresh after looking around for spots nearby that searched for General Tso's chicken. This is one of my favorite dishes. This restaurant had high reviews, the food pics look good, so I said why not give it a try? I placed a pick up order online from their website and parked and went inside to get my food. I did notice they do have a drive through and curbside pick up. Inside was pretty spacious and it had a few people eating around lunch time on a weekday. My food was ready when I went to get it, which was awesome. General Tso's chicken was very delicious. The piece of chicken meat was fresh and tasty and good pieces, but the tough and chewy parts of the chicken. The flavor was good, not too sweet or spicy. However I wish they had broccoli included. The rice was steamed food and tastes as you would expect white rice from a Chinese restaurant to taste like, bland to mild flavor (It's white rice). I definitely would recommend this spot and you should try them out too. I know I'll be back!
The Big Wok
Food was absolutely shameful. This is a picture of who I received my meal one night. I had to pay around $12 after asking for extra chicken and no onions. I promise you this was not half eaten first. I took it straight home without checking it and this is how it was.
When I say they did their thing, ooh baby! I had driven by this place a few times and I would tell my children that we would try it out, today was that day. I decided to go through the drive thru. I ordered and I waited but when I tell you “it was worth the wait”, please believe me. I ordered 2 plates of shrimp fried rice and two egg rolls, the servings were very plentiful and the flavor was definitely a plus. The food was very fresh and the plates were still very hot when I made it to my home, which I didn’t go to right away. My family and I enjoyed this meal. I’m exceedingly glad that we chose this place for dinner. To the staff at The Big Wok on McKinney street in Denton, Texas, you guys rock. From a very satisfied customer ☺️😊🍚🍤
