New to the area and looking for good Chinese food. Fyi, we’re Chinese American from New York and have lived abroad in China, so we weren’t expecting much. Especially based on the outdoor and indoor decor and atmosphere. But had a friendly server and asked what she recommended. We went with the hot and spicy jumping fish and dry pot chicken. Both were excellent. So much so that my wife said she missed Chinese food like this. Got the fried string beans and chicken Lo mein for the kids, both of which were excellent as well. The food came out very quickly as well. Portions were large, took enough home for another small meal. Sadly the Asian buffet next door was packed and Sichuan River was mostly empty aside from some takeout orders. I’d guess the quality at a buffet is subpar (I haven’t been there). Give this place and chance, would love to see it stick around as it’s so close to home in south Austin. Will be going back.

Not sure what happened to all the reviews for this place as this establishment has been present for over 5 years now. Seems like someone deleted and recreated the restaurant on Google maps. Service is decent, the host and server is the same, more like family owned restaurant. Gives you a feeling of a cozy spot. Prices are okay, reasonable for the quantity, but quality of food could definitely be better. Food is sub par tbh, not really that cozy/ homely taste. When we asked the server that one particular was overly salted, they suggested that we order something different for next time and gave an alternative which supposedly isn’t that salty. Won’t recommend coz of the food taste.

First time ordering food from this establishment. It’s mainly a take out/delivery place, which I didn’t mind because I was picking up my meal to go anyways. I placed my order with DoorDash and it was ready for pick up fairly quickly. I ordered the Chicken Broccoli, Egg Roll and an Egg Drop Soup. The chicken broccoli was the right amount of sweet and savory. The broccoli was crispy, just the way I like it, not over cooked. I’m picky with my egg drop soup and their egg drop soup was delicious and just the right amount of egg and flavor. Their portions are pretty large, my meal could have easily fed 2 people. I am looking forward to trying other dishes.

Tbh I have mixed feelings writing this review cause I do want to support small business but this is health concern. No dining-take out only when we got there so we had to. They put the hot meal in a styrofoam box without wrap or anything. The entree sauce spilled and the bottom styrofoam was melting and that’s for a fact is not safe to consume. We had to toss some of the food and that’s a waste of money. Dumpling soup tasted horrible we had to toss that too. Egg roll tasted old oil. I really hope they fix this issue and adding small things like aluminum foil on top of the styrofoam which is cheap and quick and create a huge difference. They can do if they want to. On top of that the shrimp in lobster sauce is so thick that I personally wouldn’t want to indulge if it’s not for the money that we spent. Hopefully owner fix this issue. I understand they only take a to go order but please please clean your restaurant. We could see the chairs and back of the cashier were messy and haven’t been cleaned for a while. Carpet smell old. They were kinda busy tho so not sure if they even care about this input.

No taste. First and last time to order. It’s the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant, even worse than fast food. They have a sign on the door saying everything will be served in plastic containers. The cashier said the same thing. I thought they’re just cheap. Then the menus are all at the cashier place. We had to order right away right there. Now I know they are lazy. It was so awkward to look at the big menu and decide. We ordered and waited. It was fast. When we got home, every single dish had no taste. I don’t understand how could they do such a bad job even with soy sauce. My husband threw up right away after taking a bite of the sesame chicken cause there was no taste. My seafood plate, the scallop and crab tasted not cooked. The scallop texture was too soft. We both had weird sick feelings after taking several bites. What a waste of food and money. How can someone cook such bad food and doing a business? Adding this review hopefully to show the true rating. Stay away guys.

A once a month must in our home. - sesame chicken extra spicy combo egg drop soup - general tso extra spicy combo hot & sour soup - 8 chicken wings for the kid The chicken wings are really really good. I’ve been eating here for nearly 10 years and the quality and price are always fantastic

Ordered Chicken and Cashews daily special last night,, this was my very first time here, my order was VERY VERY SALTY, made up of mostly cashews and celery unfortunately.

Super Bowl was my go to place back in the day and I was sad when it closed. I'm very happy that it is back, with big portions and great service, but, guys I have to say do something about the egg rolls if you can. I remember crispy and delicious, what I got today was soft and chewy. SweetnSour sauce included at no charge is a plus

Literally the best orange chicken I have ever had. Better than any sit down restaurant Chinese food I’ve had in AGES. Like since I was a kid back in Seattle.

The appetizers were yummy (especially the shrimp, it had a fluffy texture to it). The General TSO is my usual safe choice but we had the basil wings as well (very interesting + savory) and Shanghai Beef (a bit tough in my opinion but the sauce was very good). Portions are pretty big, if you are a light eater then I would recommend to not order much or be prepared to take some to go.

I have been to 3 different Chinese restaurants and this is by far the best one. Food was hot and they continued to fill when it was empty. Very clean and appealing

Everything what you ask for $14 + tax Chinese buffet. People are nuts to ask too much for what you pay. Could do a little bit more cleaning for the place but it was not bad. We had a good time, decent food, friendly staff. The styrofoam plate is expected, but I understand why they do it. People took tremendous amount of plates and don’t even finish their foods. That would be a lot of dishes to wash. A lady that seems to be a manager or owner was nice enough to let us try the sample before purchasing the buffet. That was appreciated. We left full they got fried foods, snacks, entrees, noodle section, sushi, Mexican snacks, and dessert. Don’t forget to tip the server too!

Wow I didn’t believe the reviews, they are true. Food is very bland and either over cooked or it’s old and warmed up with the microwave. Hard to chew! Ordered the General Tso Chicken. Pretty bad. Egg roll was over cooked and burned a little. Hot & Sour soup was good. Now my stomach is bubbling!!!!

The only thing good from my order was the hot and sour soup. I also ordered fried rice, chicken lo-mein, beef and broccoli and szechuan chicken, all of it was horrendous. The beef and poultry are overly tenderized to the point of mush. There is not taste in the food except oil. So very disappointed.
