This is where we go for Chinese Takeout now. Started here when we moved, then switched to Fortune House which went downhill around covid so then it was Peking House, had issues so switched again to Ming. They started having issues so back to China Wok for now. The best Chinese takeout in town is China Cottage but they have been closed and it takes to long to get home with it, plus they have been closed for renovations. China Wok is the next best and should probably have been four stars but I added one star for all the one star reviews coming from people that don't realize all the battered fried chicken at takeout places with the exception of sweet and sour and lemon chicken come from the same food service supplier. All of it. It's the same for every takeout place in town except Panda which has their own supply chain. Yes, it's mostly batter and the crab rangoon doesn't contain real crab which was a real shock. /s China Wok is generous with portions including the meat and is a good value in my opinion. Don't take my word for it, just look at the char siu pork and vegetable photo. This is a usual portion. If you get soup and a couple apps you can easily split an entree. The soups and appetizers are usually pretty good if they don't burn the crap out of the boneless spare ribs. Fried wings in particular are great, I eat them with mumbo sauce which I wish they had but they don't so I make my own. Ma Ploy spring roll sauce or Underwood Ranch sriracha for most everything else. Other condiment suggestions (since the little packs are not good) would be gold plum Chinkiang vinegar and lots of white pepper. Shrimp can be a little gummy sometimes but still better than Peking House where all the proteins are always gummy.

Be careful if you eat here on Saturday or Sunday. The lunch specials are Monday-Friday 11am-3pm. The menu doesn't say that but they will quick increase the price to a normal size meal without letting you know. Even if you point to it and order it from that section of the menu.

Ordered pickup Oct 5th at 6pm. Charged $32, I was not satisfied with my order. Sweet n sour chicken with beef fried rice; the chicken was chewy on the outside, tough on the inside and not crunchy at all, supposedly fried. The rice was not fried at all, just mushy. Chicken on a stick; meat looked appetizing, coated in panko breadcrumbs, was nice and crunchy looking but, the meat was tough and hard to remove from the stick, tiny strips of wood came off with my chicken. Crab Rangoon; was the best thing out of all this food. Crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside, delicious. All in all, I will not be going back here. You would think at that time they'd be busy and the food would be fresh. Everything except the Rangoon was obviously refried, as in re-cooked old food. You can see in the picture the peas are shriveled, and the rice looks gummy. This usually only happens when you refrigerate fried rice. When you reheat it they shrivel and the rice gets gummy from the steam. They tried to cover the flavor/texture issue with soy sauce. I was really hoping to find a new Chinese restaurant since Fortune House had to close. If they could actually make the food fresh, that would be awesome.

Terrible flavor on both meals we had. The fried rice wasTERRIBLE! The vegetables were ok but had a weird flavor. Crab Rangoon was decent but to hard on the edges. Needless to say we won't go back. China cottage is the best in hendersonville.

Gluten free options, & staff- Penny- was GF informed. & took the time to confirm it for us! Coconut Soup w chicken, Pad Thai w rice noodles, Beef & broccoli and Spider Roll- were all excellent. It was a great choice- again! Thank you Penny for your excellent service!

The staff are very kind. And very sweet. I came because I had been recommended this place due to having allergies and the food being fresh made. My order was simple, tempura veg with sweet and sour chicken. With hot tea to drink. When the tea arrived it was warm and lovely, but no surger or a plate for the bags, or a coaster for under the pot, so it stick to the table several times. I asked for no onions and no peppers in my meal explaining my allergy. My tempura arrived with spicy mayo. I asked for soy sauce or something, blindly I was brought lite soy sauce. My server was very nice but I felt a bit embarrassed to tell him that wasn't right. So I got up to get my own from the shelf. Taste wise the tempura was very good though a few pieces were a bit charred. It was salted, which was nice, because it gave it some flavor, and with no standard dipping sauce the salt was a nice flavor. When the chicken arrived it was bare. It was meant to be served with pineapple (as I'd asked for no bell peppers and onions) When I asked where the rest was I was brought a bowl of cold, out of the can, pineapple... it felt a bit annoyed... as if I had inconvenienced then by asking for the rest of my meal. I asked if that was how it was normally served? I was told it was not... normally it was mixed in and warm... I asked for it to be served as it normally would just without the peppers and onions... I was told it was just without the peppers and onions If I was difficult to understand I don't know how to be clearer.. I couldn't seem to get across why I was disappointed Thinking I just wanted veggies, the manager brought me steamed veg mix. I fear I was not communicating properly, though my server did understand what my issue was but was unsure how to fix it. I did try to eat the chicken but it was the exact same box tempura chicken you get from other places... the veg tasted bagged or frozen, the mushrooms were just... mush When my check came, the price was different than the menu, apparently the menu hadn't been updated with the new system. The manager and servers are very lively and kind people though.

The best Asian food around… and this is coming from a connoisseur🤣🤣🤣. So, so, so good and fresh. Everything comes hot and is cooked to order. Whatever meat you get is never tough or overcooked. The service is incredibly friendly and attentive. For the to-go orders, I’ve never had anything missing or wrong with my order. Highly, highly recommend!!!!

I had been wanting Chinese soup & Rangoons for a while now, so I stopped there & placed an order. The wonton soup was horrible & smelled awful. It smelled like skunk & tasted very bad! I don't know what kind of meat was in those wontons either, but it wasn't what is supposed to be in there. It looked gamey. I couldn't eat the soup. They had good Rangoons, but that's all I can say. I wish I had gone somewhere else & hadn't wasted my money.

My wife , daughters and I lived in Portland for 10 years. We never knew it at the time but we were in the presence of Greatness. We have tried Chinese food from all over the southeast , but nothing compares. Now every time I am In Nashville for work, I make a 30-45 minute detour on the way home just to bring home takeout. Best Hot and Sour soup I’ve ever had!!!!’ I but 4 to 5 quarts at a time. Try this hidden Gem!

There’s been a few times I’ve not been happy but I’ve continued to give this place a chance, but today has taken the absolute cake $30 for this food. The chicken in the black boat was supposed to be a quart of general chicken chicken only. ( 14 medium to small bite of chicken. ) completely underneath is nothing but pieces of broccoli. Not even sure whether there’s a bowl of rice no one asked for rice. No one eats rice and the other container is supposed to be a a quart of seafood delight there is no seafood. It is noodles. Only this order takes the cake. It was not ordered. Online went in person had to wait 15 minutes for the order that was not a problem. Waited in the car prepaid for the order prior to it being cooked that it was a mustupon once receiving the order and returning home with it, discovered that this was not necessarily the order that we had ordered was only one person who came in to pick up an order to go while we were waiting on. Ours did not seem too busy. On the positive the taste of the sauce is very good oddly nothing is hot and we don’t live but a half a block and I mean half a block from the restaurant don’t understand the 15 minute wait but nothing is warm not even warm.

Sesame Chicken w/ Pork Fried Ric Beef LoMein & Pork Eggrolls Sesame chicken and the pork fried rice was sooo dry I had to spit it out & plus it had 0 pork in it😭😩 The Lo Mein is really good but the portion size is CRAZYYY for $9

Worst Chinese food in goodlettsville. Chicken is stringy and flavorless. No spice to the general Tso and the crab wonton was chewy and disgusting. Also, we ordered sweet and sour chicken and got no sweet and sour sauce. Just dry, bland, stringy chicken. Edit to add, I don’t want a refund or anything free, I simply won’t be back.

I came for dine-in last month and found the dishes very delicious, the prices reasonable, the service meticulous and considerate, and the dining environment beautiful and clean!Among the several cities l have lived in, this restaurant is my favorite. The quality of its takeout is excellent and the delivery is fast!

For teacher appreciation week, Community Childcare Services catered Panda Express and not only was Brian's Customer service amazing, but the food was hot, fresh and delicious! Some of our staff said that they've never had Panda before and they loved it so it was nice being able to provide that to them. We cannot thank you enough!

There is a manager working in this place that is a cut above the rest. He was polite to the customers and he also treated his employees with respect while pushing them along to get service out to customers as fast as he could. Only takes 5 minutes to sit in this restaurant and watch this guy and you'll say the same thing. Very impressed to say the least!

I have been a very long time customer here, and unfortunately the quality of food has gotten to the point where it’s not eatable, and made myself and my family sick. I ordered the same meal we have gotten multiple times, but since this year has unfortunately gotten worse. The soup I ordered was basically only rice with tap water, and the chicken we ordered made me very sick after eating. Unfortunately this will be the last time I or my family will be ordering from here.

This was our favorite spot for Chinese for years. I, personally, will no longer be going here. They don’t even carry something as simple as a spring roll anymore? One of the most basic items at a Chinese restaurant. It doesn’t make sense. Service was sub par as well.

The food was very good. The owners and employees were very nice. Very quiet restaurant. Enjoyed this place very much. The food was excellent. No bugs anywhere to be found. Every single piece of food I ate was delicious.

1st timers. We were welcomed in and seated immediately. The place was very busy. They brought us beverages and we hit the Buffet. The Buffet was well stocked and was constantly being refilled and wiped down. They keep the place very clean...from the buffet to prebussing tables. There was always someone cleaning. The Buffet offers plenty of options, from familiar favorites to a nice variety of fresh made sushi. Definately something for everyone.

We walked in at 9:15 pm tonight and they were out of orange chicken, which we all wanted. To our pleasant surprise they offered to make another batch for us. We were happy to wait the 10 minutes to make that happen. They were professional and courteous and helpful and as they were also preparing to close for the night I just want to extend our gratitude for their wonderful service. All of our food is hot and delicious and it satisfied a craving so well. Thank you!

The service as usual was great, however, tonight the fried rice was extremely dry having tiny bits of egg, the orange chicken was mostly hard & grisely, and the 2 chicken egg rolls were overly burnt, looking as if they were fried multiple times. We were extremely disappointed and unfortunately will not be back.
