Classic Chinese Cuisine
My go to dish has always been Mongolian Beef. I'm used to beef and onions, and sometimes bamboo shoots. Their version had broccoli, carrots, cabbage, mushrooms, tasted like a stew. I asked for extra spice, which it did have a pleasant kick, but it was unlike any Mongolian Beef I've had before and I did not care for it nor would recommend. We also ordered Pad Thai, which was really sweet with zero peanuts, or peanut flavor. And Chicken Fried Rice which was also pretty so-so. Service was quick and friendly, but the dishes didn't look like the pictures online. Posting my food pics to help.
We have been regular customers for at least 15 years. Most recently it has been very hit & miss. I usually do takeout & recently had chicken & broccoli in garlic sauce & it was so sweet, and sauce was very dark & thick. I had to throw my leftovers away. Had kung pao chicken & once again the sauce was way too thick, almost like gelatin. Because it is convenient I will still do takeout once in a while but am on the hunt for some place new.
New Dragon Express
I love the food and it is one of the best eat in places around but, Tonight I ordered pick up and never will again. It is not the first time i had made an order of at least $60-$70 worth of food and it was wrong. I wanted general tso with noodles and got sweet and sour chicken with white rice. I will never pick up food from here ever again. 😒 I'll be having cereal for dinner tonight.
Seriously the best Chinese in the area. We don't even live in S Fayette anymore, but we still go here over places that are closer. I love the sesame chicken, and my wife and I love the crab rangoon. We get two full meals out of the portions plus one shared appetizer. The dining area is relatively small but nice. It seems somehow modern and traditional at the same time, in a good way. The staff are always friendly and professional, and speak English well. It is not cheap, and we are sad that they're not open on Tuesdays recently, but I can't blame them enough for either of those to take away a star.
China Wok Buffet
I love Chinese food!! The green beans were delicious! The crab rangoons and fried/steamed dumplings were delicious as well.
We've given this place four tries, since, for me, being Vegan, it's hard to dine out. My husband gets the buffet, while, because they have only sautéed greenbeans as a vegetarian option on their buffet, I always order number 37 on their (out-dated prices) menu, allegedly crispy tofu with mixed vegetables. They have a Mongolian thing, but no Vegan proteins out to have added to the veg. Literally every time, his buffet quality was different. Sometimes it was fine or even good, other times some mains were cold and tasteless. Sometimes, the trays are mostly gone, while this last time, they were full and fresh (on a Sunday, around 5PM). My food came out differently every time. The first time was best, with the tofu being crispy, and the selection and amount of veg excellent. The second time, the tofu was not crispy, but mushy, but the veg was okay. The third time, the tofu was mushy, not even really cooked, and the mixed veg was off in what they put in it. The fourth time, the tofu was perfectly crispy, and extra ample, but the veg was skimpy and off again. I had maybe four pieces of broccoli, four chunks of zucchini, a few carrot strips, and the rest was sliced water chestnuts, shredded bamboo shoots, and nasty baby corn. The first time, since some places will make them fresh if asked, I asked if they had vegetable egg rolls, and the guy sneered at me, answering, "We have *spring* rolls." No shit, Sherlock. I can read, and am not stupid; I know the difference. I asked again if I could get vegetable egg rolls, as I **wanted** vegetable egg rolls. He was rude, and just repeated himself. He brought me two spring rolls, at egg roll prices, and they were as small as my ring finger. They were almost hollow, and tasted like burnt shit. The first three times, the waitress was a person who could not understand how to take my order. I literally pointed at the menu for her. She had to get someone, and the second and third time, I didn't get my food till my husband was done eating. This last time, the sneering guy was my waiter, and I made sure to order as we were seated. The service is always slow, and the staff is never friendly. If you are desperate, this place would do, but don't get your hopes up.
