China Wok Buffet
We had been out all day and roads were getting bad so we stopped for the night and found this gem. You could tell when we walked in they were probably about to close because of no customers on a bad night. But they welcomed us and cooked fresh food!! They were so friendly and sweet. I highly recommend stopping in.
Great spot with delicious food. It's my go to lunch spot. It's crazy how eating fast food can cost more than eating a proper lunch there nowadays. I also ordered take out before and it was quick and tasty.
Ming Garden Chinese Restaurant
This place, we showed up at 8:10pm on a Monday and the Ming Garden was wrapping up shop, people were still coming in, and almost half the trays were already pulled off the buffet. The last trays tasted like they had been put up that morning. The chicken fell off the bone, not in a good way. No hibachi grill(they pulled the trays), no compromise, no chop sticks for kids nothing. Maybe they are not so bad for breakfast. Please don't say you are open until 9 and have everything wrapped up and employees off at 8:45...
This was my first visit to Ming Garden. It was some of the best Chinese food I've ever had! Much better than any Chinese place in my local area. (Southwestern Virginia) The buffet was well stocked, fresh, and hot. I was blown away by just how many selections there were. The egg drop soup was absolutely amazing. It was my favorite out of everything I tried. :) We were seated quickly after arriving. Our waitress was very kind and attentive even though the restaurant was slightly busy. She was good about taking old plates away and providing refills. The booth we sat at was clean. I will be coming back here. 10/10 on every aspect.
Panda Express
Bowl w/ honey sesame chicken & chow mein. $10 The portion sizes that you get for your money is absolutely atrocious. I got 6 small pieces of chicken with my bowl. That is 1 entree and a carb. When I called in to the store to ask about the servings I had received they seriously just gave a corporate spiel. Legitimately no customer service. A real if you don’t like it then please come here so I can show you on a graph that you are wrong. Also. If you tell them you are going to write a 1 star review with a picture they call you threatening. I will definitely not be coming back here. I would encourage others to spend your money somewhere they don’t rip you off on your food. Edit: please look at the other reviews with pictures and see the difference in protein.
they are great. they’ve provided many good meals for me. i requested all small pieces of orange chicken and this is the best meal ive ever had. 10/10.
Little Panda Restaurant
We have been looking for a great Chinese restaurant in the tri cities and this one has the best food. We visited mid afternoon on a rainy day so it was not busy. Just one other customer. The guy at the desk is not Chinese and has a charming personality. The place is clean, the food is good, prices reasonable with large servings you can split. They have a separate private room if you need it. It's a bit hidden down a busy two lane road but it is worth the trip.
Absolutely phenomenal food! Vegetables are super fresh, meats are tender, the absolute best egg drop soup we have ever eaten! This is food that inspires poetry and still life paintings!
China House
I cant believe I haven't left a review until now. This place is truly a gem. It's tucked away by the post office so you might have to look for it, but it's worth finding. They have a website for ease or ordering, and we have done takeout every time. I would definitely recommend going here, they have a big menu of options to choose from. We ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken, General Tsos Chicken, Crab Rangoons, Teriyaki Chicken, and Hot and Sour Soup. 10/10 deliciousness! :)
The food is incredible! I literally have no complaints other than I ordered $50 worth of food and only got one fortune cookie so I had to deal with tantrums.
China Star Buffet
I absolutely love China Star! The food is great, when it's fresh, and that's not always the case for the buffet but they'll make something fresh if you ask for it. It's a little expensive but worth it, to me. I only wish they would open the last bar up like it was before Covid. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because of the waitress. She wants to stare you down as if you're going to steal something and then she asks you how much of a tip you want to give when she takes your payment. I just don't think that's right at all.
For 2 years this has been my ONLY good result of yummy food, until today. This was in the vat of egg drop soup. When I brought it to their attention, the manager (maybe owner) doubled down on defending the food. He said repeatedly that it was egg, and it was fine, and something to do with the cooking process. As if I wasn't grossed out enough, he started playing in the cup, smooshing it, and approached me with it on his finger. I had to tell him not to come near me with that, it was gross, and he finally walked away. If that's egg, then it's rotten egg, if it's not egg then it's mold. That is not the only bit that looked like that, it's just all I cared to put in the bowl to subject my eyes to. They still insisted I paid full price for our lunch. 37.00 for this
