Old Li‘s Restaurant
Old Liz’s Charleston delivers an incredibly authentic Chinese dining experience. The flavors are bold and traditional, making every bite feel like a trip to China. The dishes are expertly prepared, with fresh ingredients and rich seasoning that showcase the depth of real Chinese cuisine. From the dumplings to the stir-fried dishes, everything tasted just right—balanced, flavorful, and satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff is friendly and attentive, though service can be a bit slow during peak hours, which is the only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five. However, the food more than makes up for it. If you’re looking for a true taste of China in Charleston, this place is a must-visit!
Everything was amazing and fresh! The service was great and friendly and the cuisine was beyond compare. My family enjoyed our dinner and we will definitely be back with friends. My children enjoyed the family style dining and I wish more restaurants did this! With a large family the spinning table worked wonders! You must try the duck! My 5 year old is a dumpling fanatic and he could not stop talking about the dumplings!
Grand Buffet
Food is dry. Had to use lots of duck sauce on fried chicken because it was so dry. But chicken was crispy though. Buffalo chicken was cold. Once dinner hours came they refreshed the food, well at least the seafood, so the seafood was no longer sitting in dried out pans but actually in some juice.
I use to love this place but the last few time I have went the food has been cold and undercooked. But as of recently I went and found a roach in the food. My boyfriend and I were eating and he pointed out something on my plate he thought it was a burnt onion until I turned it around and saw it was a dead roach. They still charged me for drinks and his meal. This is the very last time I’ll ever come back. Sad to see a good place gone bad!
Panda Express
Glad it was near to our hotel… it was our comfort food during our stay. We had the meal 2-3 times and our fav was Black pepper & string bean chicken which seems to be always out of stock except at lunchtime. Though we order below with fried rice (we always prefer rice) * Orange chicken * Black Pepper Chicken* String bean chicken * Honey sesame chicken The ambiance is good and cleaned up to some extent. If someone leaves the mess, no one is quickly coming to clean the table. I would blame their civic sense though The staff is good, happy to help with your questions and an extra scoop of rice 😉 The location is great as well, in the same complex as shopping outlets, Best Buy, Walmart, and other big stores.
We had chow mein, orange chicken, shrimp, fried rice. It was delicious. And flavorful. Even though it was a long line, but we didn’t wait that long . Stuff is very nice.
