House of Dumplings 水餃之家
I love this place! Consistent Mom and Pop dim sum spot in an inconspicuous area. Instead of sitting in traffic, I suggest stopping off and enjoying dinner before you continue home. This is a quintessential hole in the wall that is very unassuming, but boy does it hit the spot. Another option: they sell frozen apps! Pick up some frozen pork buns and go home and steam them yourself for dinner, you’ll be the popular one! We got the XLBs, string beans, beef noodle soup (we asked to make it spicy), spicy dumplings, & 3 flavor dumplings. All 5 were delicious! String Beans- tasty, garlicky, wok fried to perfection. Great side addition to our mains. 3 flavor- great taster’s item if you can’t decide what you want. All the dim sum are well portioned for someone hungry patrons so eat up! Spicy dumplings- Amazing! The greatness of this dish is its simplicity: the pork and Napa cabbage dumplings with spicy chili crunch. XLB- soup dumplings are pretty standard gout a dim sum place now, but the difference here is it tastes homemade! Beef noodle soup- Excuse me??! Did you say top tier ? Thought so… a mix of canton style thick noodles, tender tender beef in a savory and tasty beef broth. Asked to make it spicy and it was indeed spicy! I loved every spoonful. All in all, a great great spot that not too many people would ever think to stop by, but I assure you, you’d be missing out. Skip the lines of those other popular places and come here, you won’t regret it!
This is a small, nice, neighborhood plaza Chinese restaurant with a very authentic menu that more than just dumplings. They have many traditional dishes too. If there’s something you don’t see, ask and they may be able to make it. The beef noodle soup and soup dumplings are my favorite. My brother loves the sesame noodles, which he can’t find most places. Dine in seating is limited to five tables, but I’ve never had an issue getting a table. They are very accommodating. I don’t know what it is, but they have the best jasmine tea. I usually bring a container and take any leftover tea.
Hung Sang
Staying in Union City for the Christmas holidays and I always eat local when traveling. I couldn’t be more happier to eaten here. The food portions are big, and it full of flavor along with affordable prices. Two is enough to share, all orders are made to order. So when it given to you it fresh, hot and delicious to eat.
**1-Star Google Review for a Bad Chinese Restaurant:** Terrible experience! Ordered takeout, and the food was cold, greasy, and tasteless. The portions were small for the price, and the ingredients didn’t seem fresh. On top of that, the staff was rude when I called to ask about a missing item. Definitely not authentic and not worth the money!Save yourself the disappointment and eat elsewhere.
New Hong Am Kitchen
Terrible don’t even bother asking them to deliver if you are staying in a hotel. My hotel was two. Locks away and they refused to deliver.
We've ordered pick or delivery here for years. The food is very good and consistent and the staff is very nice. It's one of our favorite go-to neighborhood spots!
Goldstar Chinese Restaurant
Good food good customer service easy to get in and out of I would highly recommend them
They always get my order correct and the food is worth more than what I pay ..great place
Fong Kee Claypot
My son and I really enjoyed the clay pots very much. It’s not fast food … they do cook the rice in the clay pot, so expect to wait a little before it comes out. It’s worth the wait. The burned rice at the bottom, when mixed with the rest of the clay pot gives it a wonderful texture that can’t be replicated except by giving the clay pot rice time on top of the flames.
If you want that comfort food kind of rice pot, this restaurant does it right. Your friendly local neighborhood joint that will serve up a meal that will fill you up. Our server was extremely attentive.
Lizhou City Restaurant
Lizhou City Restaurant has some seriously good food. As someone who has visited China many times, the menu features some delicious options that are very authentic . Their “Chinese Hamburger” (肉夹馍)is quite authentic. Of course there’s some of your typical Americanized dishes, but you will find excellent quality food.
We just found out that it's been reopened again. Before it was in Fremont. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick also. I ordered the fish and it was very tasty, flavourful, a good spice level and fresh. Serving portion is more then enough for two and more people. Another good halal Chinese option in bayarea. We will be visiting again and again.
Hong Kong Restaurant
I tried this restaurant a couple of times, and after tasting the shrimp with coconut and walnuts, I found it to be incredibly delicious. I can't believe I finished the whole plate! I heard this dish is one of the favorites, and it definitely did not disappoint me. It's a great family-owned restaurant with a homemade feel.
Family favorite! My parents have been coming to Hong Kong Restaurant in Union City for years. Authentic Chinese cuisine, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Consistently delicious! We always order the hot and sour soup, clay pot, salt and pepper ribs and the sweet and sour fish. Highly recommend!
Uncle Yu Restaurant
Our favorite Chinese takeout now! The beef chow fun has that wok hey that we’ve been searching for in many places, the pork ribs were so tasty! And the eggplants - so flavorful! We also had more food - their char siu fried rice was so yummy and came in good portion too! Update: added pics from another visit! Best Sweet and sour pork in the Bay Area!
A place you should try for sure! First of all. I'm not a big fan of Chinese food. But today I had just an amazing experience. Also you need to understand that it is not a franchise/fast food place. It is a family owned restaurant. Pros: - The amount of food is way more than I expected!( Huge portions of meat and side) - It is just my opinion but it seems like I find a perfect balance of spices! - Price is pretty good. Almost every combination dish between $12-22. - They serve lamb! - Wait time was about 15 min. - We ordered some crab pockets.... Tastes as a dessert, unusual but good! - Nice and polite people working there. -118 positions on menu without appetizers. Cons: - Seems like right now they are serving only to-go. No opinion for dine-in. When I try some new places I always take something familiar. Same was today. We tried Mongolian Beef (In my opinion one of the best dishes in the whole Chinese kitchen) and Kung-pao Chicken. It tastes so good! We will definitely visit you guys again. Really appreciate!

Francesca Chinese Restaurant
Delicious food, fast service and good price.
Well, not the best atmosphere hehehe 😂, if you're a fancy person, but if you try the CHICHARRÓN DE POLLO WITH TOSTONES 😌🤤🤤🤤🤤, JUST DELICIOUS 😋 AND DON'T FORGET YOUR HOMEMADE ICE TEA 👍. THIS IS NOT A COMMERCIAL, ADVERTISING OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, BUT YOU HAVE TO DEFINITELY GIVE IT A TRY 💯👌
King Calamari
Dropped in first time today. Review is very positive. Tried the soft calamari and really good. Crispy one is a bit too hard for me, both are worth a try. The portion is large, recommend.
Their Fried crunchy Calamari is definitely their best seller . People from far away travel here just for their Calamari. It is always a big hit at potlucks .
Rose Garden Restaurant
My parents used to order here all the time and I haven’t been back for a long time and the food is just as I remember. The salt and pepper prawns are a must try they give out some good spice and flavor. I also recommend the lemon chicken. They serve their sauce on the side so when you get it Togo the chicken is still nice and crispy and you can really taste the lemon in this sauce. Also you can’t go here without getting their rose garden fried rice, which comes with BBQ pork, chicken, and shrimp.
I finally had a chance to drop in on this joints. Expections were low. Especially after reading a few reviews. To my shock I was pleasantly surprised. The veggie entrée that I ordered had the PERFECT TOFU for me. I'm not a fan of the spongy/ chewy tofu. Or the bland no flavor kind. This tofu was, how can I put it? SILKY, it was the star of the dish. Granted the veggies were perfectly cooked. They didnt use canned mushrooms, which is a plus. My waitress was ok. Not rude, not overly pleasant. Just like someone trying to get through the day. No shade I've been there before. I will come back to see if we can recreate magic with the tofu or if it was a fluke.
