China Wok
Nice little carryout spot tucked away by the railroad tracks. Nice family they have really good wonton soup. Curry dishes and lomein are favorites and they have the authentic old school red roast pork. Best Chinese in the area
The menu is strictly what you'd expect from a bare- bones take out Chinese restaurant, but I wasn't impressed even with that in mind. The food is pretty mediocre; the ingredients didn't seem particularly fresh, plentiful, or beyond low quality and everything we ordered was really, really bland. I spent over $50 on my order, plus tip (should've skipped that since there was literally no service involved), and I was really disappointed with everything. My order was incorrect, and I didn't catch it until I was home, so shame on me. The thing that REALLY bothered me though is the actual restaurant. It's so run-down, poorly lit, and everything looks dirty, old, and/or depressing. To state the obvious: I don't even want to think about the kitchen. I saw about 15 health code violations just standing there, not kidding. There's no way I'd sit down to eat (in fact, I don't know if there was even a table in the place). The atmosphere of the place reminded me of a sketchy convenience store, complete with a fully enclosed counter area with sliding window (which of course was disgustingly dirty, too). I don't understand the good reviews for this place, other than they've got a captive audience with Stewartstown and its limited dining options. Next time? No thanks, I don't mind driving farther for better food and a cleaner establishment.
