Great Taste
Chicken to rice ratio is perfect , the chicken is cooked nice and crispy, with plenty of sauce tho the flavor is kinda off and bland , combo platter doesn't come with a egg roll tho that's not bad at all the rice is delicious not the best but better then a few spots in this area , plus the cheapest so far at 8.75 for a combo platter food was quick ten min wait ,
I called to place an order. And when I arrived I asked why 2 platters were $20. Than I tried it and threw it away. The broccoli tasted very old the lo mein noodles were over cooked and it was dry. The chicken was very dry and the rice was hard. For them to be a popular hang out the food is disgusting.
Chengdu Famous Food 成都名吃
Many authentic dishes to try. I’ve had cumin style chicken, ma po tofu, and a few noodle dishes. Rice stand out too. Restaurant is smaller and service is geared towards take out. Menu is via QR code and webapp, will be back
Update 2025: We haven’t been in a while. Came today and every dish was cooked to perfection. I won’t make it a regular place for me because it’s a bit pricey overall, but I can’t ask for more from the dishes themselves. 10/10 quality food and service We spent about $100 without tip on 6 dishes (photos included). Oh and I love that the manager/owner has a good sense of humor in the reviews!! We’ll be back, but maybe one dish at a time to keep the spending down. 2022: Certain dishes are excellent. The last time I ordered (dumplings in chili oil and general tsos) I didn’t really like it much. Totally different flavor level from what I have come to expect from this place based on other dishes like the potatos and double—fried spicy chicken dish. Prices are much better direct than through online and delivery services.
Sang Kee Asian Bistro
I’ve been to other Sang Kee locations and since I was in the area, I wanted to stop by for lunch. I was debating what to go with since the prices have definitely gone up a bit since I had last been to one of their restaurants. I’m a fan of their shrimp dumplings so I decided on the house noodle soup and wontons in chili oil. The wontons came out first. The good is they’re really tasty. I kept the leftover spicy sauce to use in my soup. They’re hot, but not overwhelmingly so. The wontons are a little small, so a serving of 10 for $12 felt slightly steep. The house noodle soup was good. It has quite a lot in it; the roast pork, chicken, shrimp, shrimp dumplings, bok choy, carrots, snap peas, mushrooms, and the egg noodles. Pretty close to what I remember, but I think the dumplings have gotten smaller as well. They used to be pretty stuffed with a nice chewy, “bouncy” bite. Now they’re a little more loose and not as full. Staff is really great and attentive. The menu has a lot of options and if I was with others, I’d love to have gotten some of my other old favorites.
I have been to numerous Sang Kee locations, but I was the least impressed with the food here. The service and ambiance was fine, but in terms of flavor with the food, this location was the weakest. It wasn't horrible by any means, but for the name value and price point, I'd expect it to be better than average. Maybe I'll give it another shot in the future.
Hunan Palace
Got general Tso chicken, pork fried rice and an iced tea for $10.50. No idea how they are able to charge this little but the food wasn’t bad at all. The pork fried rice was a lil blah, next time I will just get white rice. I didn’t call to order and my food took a lil while but I was very happy with the general tso chicken. Will order again.
Our go to spot. Food is good, however I'm not a fan of their fried chicken - under seasoned & I strongly dislike a lot of cooked blood inside my fried chicken and all but 1 piece was like that. The hours are not accurate - they're not opened at 11 (unsure when exactly but I stopped calling around 11:30) & beginning 2025 they are closed on Sundays (sign on the glass window inside).
Moca Asian Cuisine
Evan and I tried Moca Asian Cuisine after family members recommended it. It was very good. Loved the restaurant vibe and the service was good. Large portions (not normally a requirement for me, but thought I would mention it). I had the scallion pancakes (crispy, tasty, and not oily), Dan Dan noodles (tasty, moist, and huge portion for an appetizer), and Dragon roll (tempura soft shell crab, tuna, avocado; great flavor without distracting sauces). Evan had the pan fired dumplings (excellent) and chicken teriyaki (he thought it was just okay). Definitely will be trying them again!
Ambience looks good with lighting and comfortable seats. Food is delicious, we tried Takoyaki (octopus Balls) which is different and good. Pad Thai, chicken fried rice are delicious. Overall food is really good and you should try this place out
Win Hao
Overall, I really do like this place. 1. They are always very nice 2. They deliver in a timely manner 3. The pineapple fried rice is the best! Idk what they put into sauce wise but it’s so good. Why did I give 4 stars then? In all honesty, sometimes the flavoring of the food seems bland and can be inconsistent sometimes. Example being the chicken and broccoli (picture attached) was not very flavorful and seemed to be missing something. But by no means does this mean I’ll stop ordering and supporting Win Hao. Compared to most places in this area this is our go to place!
Loved the food here. Very fresh. Chicken fried rice is great. We tried dinner combination and it is very good, well sufficient for the price. Roll, fried rice, soup and an entree all for below 10$. Plus food is amazing. Definitely recommend takeout spot.
Veekoo
Very nice Asian reataurant! Diversity of meals! Good prices, large quantities, very nice friendly and/or romantic place! Would recommend and go back!
Solid mainline Asian restaurant. Wasn't crowded and they served us peanuts when we got there, kind of odd but we enjoyed them. They dont serve alcohol but it looked to be byob. Sushi was okay not great. The sweet potato roll was nice and crunchy while our specialty roll tasted good it was too large to eat in one bite. Eggplant dish was probably the best thing we had. I would come back but might try other restaurants first.
Biryani & Bites
A Must-Try Catering Experience in Philadelphia – Biryani & Bites I had the pleasure of working with Biryani & Bites for a my Daughter’s 5th Birthday, and I can’t recommend them enough! They provided an incredible lunch spread with around 13 to 15 items, catering thoughtfully to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests. Every dish was of top-notch quality, packed with flavor, and perfectly balanced to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. The owners, Chandni Ji and Shirkant Ji, were a delight to work with—humble, kind, and truly passionate about their craft. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The food was delivered right on time, and their service was as exceptional as the meal itself. For anyone in Philadelphia, particularly in University City or Downtown, Biryani & Bites is a must-try for all your parties, whether birthdays or other special occasions. After comparing prices across multiple restaurants in Philadelphia, Biryani & Bites stood out—not only for their reasonable pricing but also for their unmatched hospitality and attention to detail. If you’re looking for delicious, high-quality food with impeccable service, do yourself a favor and give Biryani & Bites a call. They truly made our event memorable!
Food was good. Slow kitchen. Server was very friendly. Don’t get any food out of the case… it’s dry
Bamboo
Delicious, fresh food and inviting atmosphere. Service is outstanding. The prices are very reasonable and reflect the high quality ingredients and cooking. We will be back here again and again!
Right, listen up, because this place needs to hear the hard truth. Calling this an authentic Vietnamese restaurant? Not a chance. I get why they’ve toned things down—probably catering to local palates that can’t handle the real punch of Vietnamese flavors. But, as someone who’s grown up on true Vietnamese cuisine from San Jose, Houston, and Dallas, I know what proper Vietnamese food should taste like. We’re a proud food culture, and we demand the best. Sadly, that’s not what’s happening here. First off, everything on the menu here is overly sweet, like they’ve dumped sugar in every dish. And don’t even get me started on the portions for what they’re charging! A grilled platter “sampler” set us back $17, and what do you get? The meat is so skinny it’s practically see-through, and they rely on noodles to fill up the plate. The marinade? Too damn sweet, like syrup. Sure, the rice noodles themselves are alright, but this isn’t a noodle shop, is it? Then there’s the pho. That broth is a sugar bath! The noodles aren’t fresh, the meat portions are skimpy, and the balance is all wrong. And don’t even get me started on the clay pot catfish. $23 for what? Some sad little chunks of fish in a syrupy, thin sauce that was more sweet-and-sour than anything resembling authentic Ca Kho To. They didn’t even bother with a proper clay pot! Instead, it came in a Korean stone bowl. I mean, if you’re charging $23, at least bring the right equipment! This wasn’t rich, caramelized catfish; it was like dessert gone wrong with fish thrown in. Absolute robbery, and completely off the mark for what this dish should be. The spring rolls were no better. Skinny, with a ridiculous amount of rice noodles and barely any protein. It’s like they’re rationing flavor. Paying for this? You might as well throw your wallet out the window. Now, the one saving grace? The Banh Beo. Steamed rice cakes with a few toppings and some nuoc mam. It’s hard to mess up. I enjoyed it because, frankly, I can’t get that elsewhere. So, if you’re into this, go ahead. Keep eating here. But make no mistake—this is not authentic Vietnamese food. Real Vietnamese cuisine is all about balance: a dance of sweet, salty, sour, and fresh flavors, with textures that hit every note. This place? It’s just American-Vietnamese food.
MAHAKSHA INDIAN FLAVOR
We went to Mahaksha this morning for brunch with our friends, and we must say we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Most of us ordered either Thali or the lunch combo, along with a couple appetizers; all were impressive. Food was flavourful and authentic. The service was very commendable. Gautham was friendly and managed the orders from the group well. He was always ensuring that we are attended to and taken care of.
Absolutely phenomenal! The menu is the largest you have ever seen! (A legit book)! A must have for Indian cuisine! I had a scrumptious spicy mutton (goat) curry and it was delicious!! I’m definitely taking my family back here again!
Bombay Dhabba Malvern
Food was amazing Service was also good. The owner she’s very humble she take care of ever single customer
Very friendly staff, very tasty food. The medium curry is good if you want a nice burn but it’s not too overwhelming at all.
Sutao Cafe
Wow .. randomly found on Happy Cow while we were in the area and ordered cumin lamb and bang bang noodles (hand made). All VEGAN! We are not fans of sweet and more savory/spicy folks. So if that's your taste, order these. Amazing!
The place hasn't changed a bit in the last 20 years and I am not sure it's a good thing. We were excited to hear that the buffet was back on the weekends, but everything was picked over, too greasy, too salty and generally not as tasty as we remembered from years past.
