Hunan House
I recently dined at this Chinese restaurant with my colleagues, and we were pleasantly surprised. The vibe is cozy and welcoming, which fits perfectly with the small-town feel. What really stands out is the great value for money—prices are very reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous. I ordered an egg roll and the hot and spicy chicken with rice, and both were spot on. The egg roll was crispy and fresh, and the hot and spicy chicken had just the right kick of heat without being overwhelming. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for tasty Chinese food in Palmerton!
The food is really good but if you're ordering by phone just be prepared that your order will most likely not be completely correct. It'll be close though! It definitely is not enough of a reason for me not to continue buying from them and eating is there food.
hunan house
Unaware that there were new owners, I ordered food and it was very good! I have been back twice. The rice was very good as were the egg rolls and let's not forget the Almond cookies!! Staff was also courteous and pleasant.
It’s good, inexpensive, fast, and open late. Service was excellent, and the order over the phone was executed perfectly. Will it win awards for authenticity? No. But when your child says: “More broccoli, please”, the restaurant gets an extra star. We ordered the large Shrimp with broccoli and the large Shrimp Szechuan style, and both had lots of shrimp and vegetables. For less than $25 three of us had dinner and we didn’t even eat half of one of the containers of rice. This place is superior to the Wawa and McDonald’s 10 minutes away. It is worth the extra 4 minutes out of I-476. But you will need an EZ-pass to be able to use the exit.
Louie's Prime Steak House
Having gone to many steak houses I’d say this place is middle of the road. Portions are small for the price point, and nothing that we had was really worth noting. Atmosphere is rustic and dim which fits the environment, but tables are tightly packed and the booths move quite a bit when someone on either side of the booth moves. Our waitress was wonderful. She was non-stop between tables. Overall, this is OK, not spectacular.
Excellent from start to finish. Martini, filets, service, and our dessert of crème brûlée was all fantastic for the special dinner we went to. Can’t wait to go back Food was delicious.
China Garden
As Asian, it hard to not eat rice or noodle one day while traveling. We always seek out the local Asian spot to fulfil our craving for some rice dishes. This is also one of the few spot that are open on weekdays as well in this area. Most restaurant only operates Thursday - Sunday. The owner came to greet us and chatted with us for a bit. He was nice and friendly. The food here was decent.
I think this is the first bad review I’ve given to any restaurant Mind you my experience was ordering a fried rice chicken they barely used chicken it was just fried flour. Service is ok, floors are dirty but overall it is a OK, you get for what you get. So sad I was so hungry 🥲 and couldn’t eat anything on my plate
China Wok
Good chinese food and the only one that hasnt gotten us sick in this area. Only thing is the delivery fee to deliver to a home and on top a tip too. So $12 delivery fee to deliver less than a mile. Been picking up since i rather pay 26 than 50 for food. Plus, previous owners where super friendly and always put all types of sauces, forks and napkins with your food. Now, you get nothing but the food and the bag it comes in. 👌👍😁🤔
It’s not fine dining. With that said it’s a Great option for take out. I’ve ordered tons of different things here and was never disappointed. My favorite is the TRIPLE DELIGHT Szechuan. Everything is cooked and balanced perfectly.
Bobo Garden
If your food and hospitality is excellent, you don't need a fancy up scale experience. Don't let the out dated look fool you, the food is incredible. I believe the two working are the owners. They were so nice! We got our food in less than 15 minutes. It was fresh, hot, affordable, and tasted like they love what they do! I will definitely be back. Edit: I've been back a couple times, and I still love it!
This is a takeout place first and foremost but a great one. They're cash only so make sure you stop by an ATM. Service has always been good, food never disappoints, and they're fast. I've never had to wait on my food and always get it within 15 minutes of ordering, sometimes faster!
Chiu Kwan Kitchen
The food here is very good in my opinion just that if you eat in the restaurant itself it's very cluttered they used to have a buffet and now they're buffet tables have just become storage which is a shame because they should open the buffet again it was so good but since COVID they never reopened it. I'm a big fan of general tso chicken and I think it's one of the best I've had in the Lehigh valley / Pocono area. The egg rolls are great, the owner and his wife are the most friendly people I have ever met it's a good restaurant probably would recommend take out so that you don't have to sit inside cuz like I said it's kind of crowded with clutter due to them not using the buffet anymore but the food is phenomenal and if you do need to eat in person it's still clean so it's up to you what you want to do but I highly recommend the food
charged me 42 dollars for 2 combination plates & dumplings. way too much money for basic chinese food and the rice was cold
China Ming Restaurant
Food is awful and wayyyyy overpriced I literally had the worse coconut “chicken” ever. Chicken is in quotations because there wasn’t any. That’s not chicken. It’s fried breading. It’s like a funnel cake with with a can of coconut milk thrown on top. Dumplings are bland. Soup…soup was good and they did have fresh chives in it. Don’t waste your money. 💰
Came to the town for the train drive and cravings some Chinese food, highly recommended with good pricing and options to choose. The portion and flavors are great. We got the orange chicken and triple delight
