Lok Yaun Restaurant
Was there yesterday. Take out order. The beef lomein was so off base. The noodles mushed in your mouth. And just some carrots and yellow and green onions! What the hell!! My husband loved it when it was in the other location. So thought I'd try NOPE! NOT going back.
Decided to take a break from burgers and go get Chinese. This is the first time I've been to Lok Yaun in three years. The atmosphere was crowded, but everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered the Szechuan Family Dinner for 2 because we were hungry. We got enough food for an army! The egg flower soup was excellent and I wish I had gotten a larger size. The Triple Crown was cooked very well, and the scallops, shrimp and vegetables were amazing. My only complaint is that the General Tso's Chicken had a different flavor than I remember it having, and the sauce has an odd aftertaste. Overall, very good experience.
China Kitchen
Been here in Eugene for about a year and have tried probably 20 different Chinese places and I have been severely disappointed with all…..until I found this place!!!! China Kitchen tastes just like my local place back home in California and I’m hooked now!! I had the Garlic Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, and Beef Chow Fun which I had the noodles changed out to what they call “thin noodle” and it was OUTSTANDING. The Garlic Chicken was stir fried with a spicy red chili sauce and lots of garlic . It was juicy, savory and the more I smelled it the more I kept wanting to eat it. It was literally addicting. The Beef Chow fun “thin noodle” was exactly the same all the flavors melding together reminded me of home and it was intoxicating to say the least. The pork fried rice was almost spot on like home as well as the only thing it was missing was bigger chunks of smoky bacon but again the flavors were there and I couldn’t stop eating it. If you love Chinese food this place will have you hooked in no time!! The staff are very accommodating and friendly. the restaurant is very quaint and inviting. You can bring big parties and not have to worry about not having any room. The amount of food you receive is quite bountiful and what I ordered will probably feed 2 to 3 people maybe 4 depending on your eating habits. China Kitchen is now my number 1 for when I want Chinese in Eugene.
DELICIOUS! The crab Rangoons are literally to die for! The sweet and sour pork is my favorite! Great prices, clean & friendly!
Panda Express
The people behind the counter were very nice. I feel like they really cared about the customer service. Also, whenever I order orange chicken, they fill it up so full that they can barely close it. A Large Al La Carte is way too much for one person, unless you want leftovers. That's just my personal experience, but it has made Panda Express my favorite restaurant just for the orange chicken.
I don’t have a Panda Express where I’m from so I like to stop on road trips usually. In this instance it was going back home from camping in Albany. I got a plate and by god did they overload my box. I payed $10 and easily got $20 worth of food. For that, I am grateful. ETERNALLY grateful. I will probably remember this interaction forever. The food is just Panda Express food so like nothing revolutionary but it doesn’t need to be. Also. The girls serving me were very pretty and I didn’t get nervous and pee my pants this time so, absolute win on my end.
